Your Headbanger’s Kitchen brand is great to be inclusive of other foods, diets, exercise, AND ur music. You don’t have to be a “keto channel”. Your brand is Food Network worthy. Don’t let “where is the keto?!” whiners get u discouraged. Love you.

I’ve been doing Keto on and off for 27 years. The first time I did the diet it was call the Yeast free diet. I can tell you this, when you are off the diet, you will gain weight. Here is the thing, one cookie is too much and a 1000 are not enough. You are just kidding yourself right now. I can see you have gained too much weight already.

I think having diabetes really wakes you up to what you are actually eating. The recipes for Keto really helped me get a handle on my diet. Hopefully, I'll be off my last medication by mid year. I've found a balance between full Keto and my food favorites that work. With this weight loss, I'll move to maintain when I reach that goal. So that may or may not be the end of Keto for me. It will be the end of massive carbs though.

Fellow diabetic here. I’ve reversed my diabetes and am off all my meds now with keto. A1c is normal now. As diabetics I think it’s not wise to ever go back to eating a lot of carbs. I seem to be able to eat about 50 net carbs and stay within normal blood glucose levels now.
@rhiahlMT
@rhiahlMT 3 жыл бұрын
@@MsTony1402 Yeah, I'm doing under 40 a day and usually 20 or below. Lost over 40 lbs. A1c is down to 5.8 from 12.6. Blood pressure, cholesterol back to normal. My meter readings are steadily under 100, often in the 80s. At this point, I'm thinking about what to do when I get down to 115 lbs or 120 lbs to maintain that and still control the diabetes. Carbs are definitely not the answer. Likely, I will up them a bit and watch the numbers. I'll never see 94 lbs again and not sure that I want to. Next blood draw is the 17th of Feb. so I think I'll have better feedback then.

@rhiahlMT
@rhiahlMT 3 жыл бұрын
@@toni4787 My suggestion is to watch Dr. Jason Fung here on youtube. The concerns about cholesterol are a bit over exaggerated to say the least. Your body produces more cholesterol than you could eat. It's necessary. Also, recent studies have shown there are 2 types of 'bad' aka LDL cholesterol. One airy type that actually keeps your vessels open. One a denser type (type B) that does the damage. You could have high LDL cholesterol and it could be the 'good' cholesterol type of LDL (type A) and the tests have no way to check it. It just measures LDL as one type. HDL is another component. Watch this video and you will get information you haven't seen before. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3LamJeOarurfcU

Thank you for your video. I found your channel because I was looking for keto recipes and bonus I discovered you and love your personality so I will keep watching and probably would even if you talked about basket weaving 😂 I am 61 and I have yo-yo dieted all my life ; did them all , including Atkins/keto several times and just kept gaining back and more and then when I gain so much that I can’t tie my shoe or I struggle to get up and out of the bathtub then I get so depressed that I finally find enough motivation to do something about it. And keto allows me to lose quickly and not feel hungry so I can also keep up the motivation. I started on June 6 2020 and lost 57 lbs and need to lose 20 more to get in a normal BMI range. My husband and I are dieting together which helps a lot but he is now at his goal weight and has been able to maintain for 2 months by simply having slightly larger portions or a couple more healthy snacks. I am not losing as fast as at the beginning and my ketones are traces now. I am happy to stay on keto , I am so afraid of “losing control” if I get off and increase my carb intake and then fall back in old habits..I LOVE bread and wine and I can do serious damage if I start eating them again. At my age I don’t have as many kicks at the can left and I’d rather stick to keto be able to tie my shoes ! Thank you for sharing your new approach to weight loss and I will keep it in mind if keto gets to be not feasible anymore.

Thank you for sharing this video. How many calories we should be deficit to lose weight? If I start losing weight on calorie deficit how often I should recalculate calories to lose weight?
@HeadbangersKitchen
@HeadbangersKitchen 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Snehal. I would say don't do more than a 20% deficit. You can increase this deficit by doing exercise but don't drop your calories too low because otherwise what happens is your metabolism slows down eventually. SO if you needed say 2000 calories and you kept eating say 1500 then your BMR drops and then you will go down to say 1000 calories to lose weight and then BMR drops again. Instead you want to drop say to 1800 calories from 2000 and burn maybe 300 more from exercise to get that 500 deficit without lowering calories. I'd say every 5kgs/10lbs you recalculate. But the thing is like I said keep that exercise going up so you don't need to keep dropping calories and also if you do weights and build muscle then your BMR goes up because muscle needs more energy to maintain. Also you would want to take a break from this deficit every once in a while to maintain weight for a few weeks and then get back. It's quite a bit of work, which is why people hire dieticians and trainers. I would strongly recommend watching some videos from RP fitness.

I just have one question. When you have the meat sandwiches, (they look yummy), do you use regular sliced bread or do you have a keto recipe bread? Even when I was on full keto this time last year, I always used regular sliced white bread for toast or a sandwich. I use the Nature's Own Butter Bread. I have counted carbs on all the breads and it is the tastiest and the lowest in carbs! Go figure. Thanks Sahil!

I only intend keto meals to provide me with a carb reduction in my general diet between longer fasting periods. The fasting periods of one to three week at a time are what should provide me with the bulk of the weight loss and also keep me out of sugar dependency and insulin resistance. Reducing the carb load when I do eat seems to help not fill up the liver with glycogen. Carbs are much more tolerable when you are at a normal weight, your liver is healthy and your body is generally insulin sensitive. Then you really don't need keto and it is more trouble than it is worth. Though some if it may indeed be the sugar rollercoaster acting up.

No it wont'. It will happen if you drop your calories too low. Whether you do it by counting calories/IF or Keto if you drop calories too low your metabolism slows down, hence I create the calorie deficit through exercise. I pretty much eat as you mentioned, whole foods, protein is priority and all the food I eat leaves me super full.

@@HeadbangersKitchen People never counted calories before mid of the last century when processed food and sugar consumption started to increase. The term 'A Calorie is a Calorie' assumes that only the amount of calories is important and not the type of calories. Yet different calories have different hormonal effects on our bodies which impacts their fattening effect.

Yeah and they also led more active lives, didn't have computers and desks to sit on all day. There is no point in comparing the past to today. I understand all that you are saying but at the end of the day you can eat pop tarts and lose weight by counting calories. Is that the smart way? Nope, of course if you eat better quality whole foods you will feel more satiated and will find it easier to manage without counting calories but the calories will still matter at the end of the day. :) that's all I am saying.

@@HeadbangersKitchen Its more complecated than that. Everything in our body is regualted by hormons, like leptin helps us regulate normal weight and ghrelin increases hunger. I have done calories counting too, years ago, like most of the people, with no success. Nope that apple cider vinegar thing is absolute garbage and has no scientific backing. All these guys people who advocate this are full of BS. If it was that easy everyone would be doing it. Even fasting has now been overhyped and basically it's just eating less calories by removing 1 meal. People who overeating in their fasting window don't lose weight. Same with Keto, people who eat too many calories on Keto don't lose or even gain weight. At the end of the day while the calorie equation is not simple to figure out it is the mechanism behind all these different weight loss methods.

I used to watch your video a lot when I was following keto diet but I quit for the same reason and once our body get out of keto it takes 3 days to back to ketones stage and if I had carb more than I was allowed, it took me another 3 days to get back to keto. @@HeadbangersKitchen Hah... Firstly, it's commonly agreed that if you are hungry a spoonful of fat (ghee/butter/cco) will help you curb it. Secondly, coffee keeps you moving, busy & distracted, while keeping you hydrated (turns out the hydration outweighs the dehydrating diuretics). Thirdly, you're not depriving yourself of any food groups by the omad meal. Best to eat some salmon with broccoli, or steak with asparagus, but you can have potatoes or rice or bread if you wish. I like it because it keeps me productive takes my mind off of food/eating/hunger, and I can reward and satisfy myself for any cravings at dinner. I've been recently adding snake juice electrolytes for sustained energy. Having to count and keep track and watch is too much for my mind. Lol. Best of luck to you too!! 🤘

Avocado makes me so sick, and it makes me sad cus I love them so much. No nut breads, or grains. Oatmeal also makes me ill, no brown rice only white. I had a break down the other day cus green beans made me ill, I didn't realize I had too much at just 1c. Most greens I can't have. Some keto I can have but its rather depressing I can't have most good foods that's healthy for the majority of the population

WOW! Totally disappointing to see you are off of KETO. I understand the fitness part and I agree. But what is stopping you from weight training and cardio on a keto diet? When I started keto I was 240 pounds, that was 4 years ago. I am now 170 and have maintained that for over 3 years. Pretty much my college weight. (Almost 40 years ago) I never count calories, when I'm hungry I eat. It's not the weight loss that keeps me on keto however. It's the health benefits. When I started on keto I had high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, and other auto immune problems. Was on multiple medications. ALL GONE NOW. Now I lean a little more toward a Paleo diet working in a few more carbs like potato's blue berries, apples white rice but I do it in moderation. But never will I eat wheat, corn, sugar or anything with an ingredients list that contains them. I never count calories. Counting calories diets are not sustainable. I love being able to eat as much as I want when I want. I am glad to hear you are still making keto video's because I love them all and will continue to do so . Good luck to you on your new diet but I think you will be back to keto when you start to notice the long term health problems like the ones I had creep in.

I like bread. I like rice. I don't have an issue eating them. Food is joy, food is love, food is my job. I need freedom to eat what I want. Unlike people who feel bad maybe when they eat certain foods, I don't. So why should I deprive myself right? I could calories to understand how much food I need to eat and then I can eyeball it. Also I have a plan for myself so I'm going with it. Most of what I eat is whole foods anyway. When I eat bread my wife bakes a beautiful sourdough loaf, I eat lovely basmati and jasmine rice that Asians ate for centuries and no one got fat. So why should I not eat what I want right? As long as I eat healthy whole foods and exercise?

I've been making peanut butter cookies cuz I figure they're a healthy cookie/sweet snack. The recipe consists of: 1cup of peanut butter, 1cup of sugar (I use brown) & 1egg (I use 2 cuz I like them chewy). They're MOSTLY ALL protein!! Recently I added a banana & that was yummy! And more recently, I made them with organic peanut butter, but those did NOT come out chewy!! I haven't made a new batch since, still trying to finish them. What you are doing only works in the sense that it doesn't work, it sounds to me. You're not in a hurry to lose your last few pounds, and sure enough, you're not losing them, despite tons of will power and exercise. That seems to agree what a lot of the studies are saying in that low calorie deficits aren't really working for long term weight loss. Fasting is not "essentially a form of eating less". "Eating less" can't give you the benefits of fasting, because of certain metabolic mechanisms. A ketogenic diet can come close, but is a lot slower. Fasting is really an entirely different regimen and feels different from calorie restriction and ketogenic diet. It's also more effective on insulin resistance.
