Thanks Deborah, this was a good, basic message that hit on many of the important points of introductions and conclusions. I am going to share this with my classes and am sure that they will be able to use many of the techniques. Everything is not relevant to the presentations they will be delivering but I will cover those, (this doesn't make the entire message irrelevant, however.) I have read through the comments and have to say for those who have the attention span of a flea, are just ready to criticize without thinking, and think they know best, guess what? They don't.

Sorry but whilst useful I would need to make notes to remember because it presented like you were reading a textbook, make a joke, be a bit human.

Agree it can be very easy to lose your audience. Sometimes if you haven't captivated your audience in the first 30 seconds then it can be an uphill struggle. It is about being confident to be yourself and speak to your audience with impact.

She said that so you are aware that she has knowledge on the subject, a good presenter lets the audience know why what they are talking about is worth their time.
@peterhoward63399 жыл бұрын
Thiago, that's exactly what she should do. She is teaching people about presentations skills so I think it's totally appropriate to establish her credentials and experiences - even those from from an early age. If you had listened to the section immediately after the opening you would have heard her explain that the technique she used was 'story telling' whereby she shared her credentials in a story as opposed to simply stating them. I think she is highly credible and skilled speaker.

Hi Deborah, great introduction, and I find your voice fine. However , over here in Asia, Asian presenters (particularly those who are Chinese), are expected to appear humble, friendly, and not-too-forward to the audience. I find this is _especially_ true for women. Would love to know others' views.

Machine generated gestures. Robotic, mechanical and almost predictable. Notice the pointed finger as in "You've been a very naughty little boy or girl!" For me, the visual and aural side is not attractive; however the content is quite good.
