I can feel your pain with the Diesel emissions, the new def and filter systems can disable a semi in a hurry. We went hunting for a HDT to pull atoy hauler with, and finding one pre def, in decent shape was a needle in a hay stack hunt. But we got lucky, we found a 2004 that was purchased to be a motorhome tower, all it has is a 1st generation catalytic converter. But you handled that like a champion, where there's a will, there is usually a way.....the trick is patience Cheers 🍻

Ours did this in TN and we had to get a new fuel pump. The mechanic said as long as we kept the fuel above half a tank, we wouldn’t have a problem. We decided to go ahead and get it changed out since we’re planning a trip to Alaska this summer, too. You have to continue to run for the regen but if you continue to have problems when fuel is low, you’ll know why.

Don't mean to be negative but my mechanic tried many fixes and I still ended up flipping the bill for a new DPF filter. I do use DEF Fluid through so that may make a difference.

Unplug the speed sensor and you back to normal speed, but not showing speed meter, you need use your phone.

The EGR valve can be cleaned with Simple Green, so don’t know why you were sold a new one. I have done this at about 30,000 miles.

Have 2016 Ram. It regenerates about ever 25-30K. First time was a surprise, but my 30 min drives to work is all it needed. Glad to see you work through it. Removal was not the way. Particulates from diesel trucks is why these were installed.

Keep driving when regen is happening. You should notice the water temp increases slightly. It's cleaning the dpf

Deleting it is going to save you money down the road. It'll also prevent you from being stranded from an emissions malfunction.

Maybe get a used one and install and see if there is a way to clean the original one for a back up or once cleaned put it back in . Never hurts to have a back up .

You are fortunate that you don't have Def fluid as well and the headaches that go along with that on top of dpf issues

Hope you can help with this question. Do you prefer to set up reservation spots in advance? If so, this mechanical hiccup would nessesitate revising plans. I am don't like to 'wing it' and be forced to reaserch an overnight camping spot every travel day. Would love to hear what you think.

DPF filters can be washed. Diesel specialist should know place to wash it.

I agree that the stuck egr valve caused the issue filling the dpf to max or near max. The white smoke was most likely from the truck going into regen, we've done manual regens on some where it was 5 minutes of white clouds. Looks like you're good to go!! Roll on!

I just had to replace the particulate and the NOX SENSOR ! It gave me 150 mile range before it went to limp mode with max speed of 5mph Biggest bullshit !

Good heads up. I'm sure it will happen to me too when least expected in the middle of nowhere. I wish it was like a dryer lint collector we could just pull out and clean. Parts may become harder to find now that major shipping port is closed indefinitely.

Emissions components are a nightmare. Iĺlegal to delete but so expensive to repair. Just no winning.
