Hi , hubby and I love to watch your adventures, we are currently traveling around the Rhône Alps . We stayed at a wonderful Aire by the river and heard some music , we went to investigate and saw a group of women dancing . To cut a long story short , they where a group of Turkish people enjoying a picnic and get together. When we approached them , they where very friendly, even got me to dance with them lol offered us a Turkish tea and food . The moral of my story is. I couldn't believe how lovely and friendly they where .lovely people 😍

We think possibly the tree with the spiked things on “may” have been a beech nut tree. There is a really good app called “seek” that you can use to identify anything from plants to birds and insects. As a kalkan summer house owner i can advise you to go to gömbe, there is a waterfall name uçarsu and a lake name green lake, at the opposite side of crossroad if you go around 3 km's you will find a huge plateau with lots of goats owned by nomads. also if you like to eat you may go to uçarsu restaurant to eat goat accompany with beer but there is the trick, you have to order your meal around 2 hours before arrival (another advise, saty them only onion, garlic and thyme). then on the way back, stop at the center of gömbe and eat ice cream and order "yanıksı" at the rainbow ice cream shop. if you have any questions you may feel free to ask :)

Bodrum Yalikavak yacht harbour is trendy and luxurious. Ayvalik and Gomech are nice and attractive touristy places during summer in the northern Aegean where you can reach there by motorway easily. Luleburgaz Igneada is one of the best and greenest places in Trachia to freely swim in pristine seashores and eat fish and calamari.

Do you ever useyour drone to check out a campsite before driving to it?
@TREADtheglobe4 жыл бұрын
No - usually it's easier to look at good maps - the satellite view. We looked at this road and it looked like it went to a lovely spot - the thing you cant see is the steepness and road service - We didnt want to rish Trudy when we have such a long drive still to do.

That's a chestnut tree, i had a prankish friend in highschool who often throw a chestnut while yelling as catch but he couldn't us fool us more than once🤣🤣 And yeah, there are some dangerous animals in Turkey especially two deadly scorpion types which live in south-eastern Turkey that you should go to a hospital ASAP if they sting you!! There are also viper snakes but they are quite famous for not being aggressive rather only bites if threatened enough. The rest of scorpions, spiders and snakes aren't deadly at all but they still can hospitalize you so the best is being careful in rural areas such as always check your shoes before wearing them and check where you will sit, be careful while you are close to a huge pile of anything or in a cave etc. You shouldn't worry about they might get close to you as they stay away from humans as much as possible especially during summers. So Turkey isn't really dangerous compared to India or South America etc if you are careful and i think the most important thing you shouldn't panic!! I live in Adana which is in dangerous zone and i saw like 50 scorpions and half a dozen snakes but never bitten or stinged even then i panicked last time as a very big snake rushed out of a bottle pile in our local graveyard that we both started to run in the same direction then i realized i was about to step on it so i jumped and it ran away from under me!! If i just stayed calm and let it run away nothing was going to happen but instead i almost got bitten and also won the stupidity award i guess...

That was a well-informed trip around the deadly fauna! And to think here in rural Suffolk England the worst that can happen is a rabbit with attitude :)
@TREADtheglobe4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for all the tips - it is good to know .... I do hope you never encounter a rabbit with attitude they can be quite formidable !! thank you again and we all do silly things - the difference is Chris edits my stupidity out LOL 😂🙌😉💃

I recommend you to visit Patara Beach and Kaputaş Beach as a Turk. But you should definitely visit Kaputaş Beach so early because otherwise it is not possible to find place to sit.

We did try Kaputas beach ... but we went too late and there was no where to park ..... next time for sure 🙌🐟

Can u get water ok in Turkey? And is it drinkable or do u have bottles of water?
@rzabelen6514 жыл бұрын
it is quite often across the country. yes they are
@bassgary95304 жыл бұрын
U can drink it if u are in small cities or town or villages. If u are in the big cities lile istanbul amd Ankara then u can drink it but not like the taste only.

Dude I couldnt understand what u mean but I will tell u in detail. In Turkey u can find bottled spring water everywhere and it is just 1-1.2 pounds for 19 litres. The tap water at mountain area u saw in this video is already spring water from mountain. 500ml-bottle of spring water (1 pound = 6 bottle- 500ml) is very very cheap, but u cant buy a good spring water in Europe as cheap as in Turkey. nearly where ever u dig the ground in Turkey, u cant find a drinkable water source, so there are lots of free water taps along the intercity roads.

Hi Peter - it is always good to ask in each area from a local who will know. But we carry a lifesaver jerrycan that filters the water - this means we are not creating loads of plastic waste and also able to use local water and top up as we need it 🐟🙌🚐 We have found one of the upsides of living in a van is you are able to use less plastic and use less resources. kind regards Marianne
