I can't believe this. So the ashtray bulb which doesn't form part of an MOT as it's not a safety problem...can actually be the whole cause of an MOT failure if the headlights can't be adjusted...or at the very least become an expensive auto electric pain! Great vid

Something else to add. For those wondering how these two things are connected,. These two things are on the same curcuit with the BSA(body computer) , so the system expects to see a specific resistance level from dial and bulb. When bulb is missing or burnt , the resistance drops significantly, so computer stops sending juice down this wire, thinking there's a problem. If light inside turn díal height adjustment switch isn't illuminating, then the ashtray bulb is either burned out or missing. Mine been missing for like forever. At least a year, when stereo tech must have pulled ashtry to use somewhere else and never replaced it. You can touch the two connectors inside ashtray bulb together for half second, to get system to work in a pinch, as often the system will let you go down, but once down, it won't bring them up again. Stuck down. After swapping to a good bulb, You must turn off car completely, and turn it back on, before the light inside dial and the ashtray bulb are fed juice again by the BSA Computer. Thanks again to the guy that posted this... I was on road trip, super dark, headlights aimed at the ground.. It moved high beams down too, so I was f#kd... This one posted saved me from needing to find a dealership in the middle of Colombia.. Thx again.

Hi. Maybe you have broken fuse. Check in the user manual where you find the fuse on the electrical panel.

Hello. That setting is made depending on how loaded your car is. If you will have three passengers in the back and the trunk is loaded, you will have to choose 2, 3. If you are the only one in the car, setting 0, 1, or 2 should be correct.

O meu esta com o mesmo problema (o comando acende e apaga quando acendo a lanterna) e nao sei como resolver. Eu sei que as lampadas da lanterna traseira esqueda queimaram e depois disso esta dando esse problema. Voce conseguiu arrumar esse problema no seu carro?

And this is why Peugeot and Citroen have the works electronics in the world. Engineers being stupid on purpose (I see no other reason), and instead of using parallel circuit or using splitter and new cable, we will be smart and use serial circuit, and if any component, bulb or anything stops working, all circuit components will not work. On top of that, why using 2 or more, cable looms? We'll just use one sigle loom with 100 wires, with different current, all squeezed at one place. It is "better", and there will be no problem with electronic components (current interference is a myth). And to top it all off, why not using shit quality aluminum, or worse, tin alloys cables, instead of copper. It saves a buck or two...

Hi. Check fuses. You should have the description for the fuses panel in the user manual.

@@AdrianDragan thanks I found the solution. It’s simple I try to replace the bulb with a led one because I haven’t normal bulb in stock but you can’t. The system need the electricity’s consommation of the bulb to work. So the ashtray bulb need always to be replace by a normal one.
