One tip for painting chrome plastic parts, soak the chrome plastic piece in bleach, after a few hours or days it will strip the chrome off to bare plastic, makes it easier for the spray paint to bond to the plastic, i use that method when painting model cars

Good vid with mostly solid info, but Curing and gassing out are separate modalities; surface curing is crystallization, gassing out is relative to the paints substrate. Gassing out times very but seldom have a read recommendations less than 30 days for the gas’s to escape. Just give it a good smell, if it smells like chemicals, it’s not ready to get enclosed in anything be that a headlight, vinyl wrap, clear bra or even external appliqués.

I want to try this on mine but i want to use some paint match, its not for plastic well at least doesn’t say. It should still work you think? It works on plastic bumpers right? What would be some good prep for this kindof paint.

So I was going to buy simoniz plastic primer and then go ontop with simoniz engine enamel. Are you saying you don't need high heat paint for these headlights?

Doesnt painting the chrome reflectors mess the lighting right up?

So I'm gonna use this paint for my headlight housings. I've already used duplicolor paint & clear coat on my shrouds. Should I add another layer of a high temp plastic clear coat on my shrouds?

Do you not sand the reflective housing first?

No need to with he paint I used. It’s actually a bad idea to sand because it balls up the plastic on the surface.

I have OEM Xenon HID's will regular paint hold up?

No you’ll still need a high temp plastic paint.

It depends on the pain you use. This paint cures over a few days left in the open. Just need to make sure it’s fully cured before you re-seal the lights or you’ll end up with cloudy lenses.

@@boostedmedia thanks alot man :) i just read that most of the paints avalible to me needs to be baked at 160-200c for an hour to harden, im not sure how i can accomplish that yet!

You can’t without melting the plastic. Hence why I chose this paint.

its not working guys, FIRST you suppoust to remove CHROM and when the plastic is CLEAR nad "matt", then you use SPRAY. nothing more to say, thank you
