Headlight Replacement | Kia Sedona | 02 03 04 05 | Lo/High Beams

In this video I show you how to change out your low beam headlight bulb on the driver's side of a Kia Sedona. It is simple enough that anyone with a couple of tools should be able to replace their own headlight in 10 minutes or less. ThePodunkboy It's not just Kia. I have a newer GMC Sierra, and the manual literally tells me to take the entire front grill out to change the headlight bulb

So many thanks. I had to replace both my low beams and in the dark and rain to boot. This video was so easy. I dont have sockets so i just used a pair of pliers and it worked just the same (for those complaining about your socket size suggestion). Thanks tons!!

Thanks for the video. I had to replace the passenger side bulb. One tricky spot for me was on the third screw near the bottom right, there was a nut on the backside. I couldn't reach the back side of the screw so I couldn't remove the assembly. But thanks to your video and my small hands and using my cell phone for an extra set of eyes and light, I got the bulb replaced without ever getting the assembly out. Took me a lot longer than 6 minutes but I did it. :)

Thanks for making this. I recently bought a 2005 Kia and the same bulb in your vid went out recently. Was not sure how the heck to get it out when I saw the long pin that goes next to the battery. Thought I might have to take the battery out. I didn't even know to use gloves with the bulb. So you saved me on that. I found that a super long pair of pliers worked and fit perfectly to get the long pin out. Just pinched the inner side and pulled it right out.

Here it is 2018 and I just saw this video last night and replaced my headlight today. This video really made it easy to know exactly what to do!!! So THANKS!! I did run into one snag because when I took the cap off the back of the channel where the light goes, there was no clip....Im not sure what was holding it in but it was pretty tight. A neighbor helped me and we jury rigged the new one in with some wire. I have since gone to a junk yard and got my clip....now if only I can remember how it goes in....lol

I changed mine , the low beam, but it seems that there is a catch with the computer (ECM). Kindly correct me if I am wrong: the headlamps did not turn on after I replaced the low beam, until I played a few time with the headlamp switch, then it all worked. I even thought that I had blown some fuses, but after repeatedly turning the switch on and off, it seems that it worked. Appreciate your reply.

I was really looking for instructions for changing the signal light bulb on a Rio Cinco 2001. Yes, my car is that old! But this video is the closest thing KZbin will show me in my searches, even though I used, "2001 kia rio cinco replace turn signal bulb front" as my search term. Interestingly enough, the appearance of the whole bulb assembly, even the size and position of the three bolts is exactly the same (as far as I can tell) on my Rio Cinco and the Sedona you use in your video. But I cannot find the part you mention that has to be "popped off" from the back. Even the picture at 1:53 does not really help: I can't see how deep in the camera's depth of field the protuberance really is, I cannot even really be sure it is in between the power cable and the knob hiding the main bulbs. So additional views from different angles would have been really helpful here. Of course, I cannot even be sure that the Rio Cinco did this the same way, or if it has the same protuberance, that it is in the same place. But I can't find anything like it, so I had to give up on my attempt to change the bulb.

I may think about taking a trip to the junkyard to find a Rio Cinco and try making a video on the lightbulb replacement if there is none out there yet. Were you able to change the bulb in the end?

@NKY DIY Thanks for asking, yes, I was able to change the bulb in the end -- with a little help from a mechanical engineer friend who boldly pulled it straight out and the previously invisible connector disconnected just as it should. He joked that he was more bold with it because it wasn't his car that was at risk of damage if he pulled too hard on the wrong thing;)

Thanks for providing this informative video! With your tips, this not-so-mechanically-inclined guy was able to change the passenger side headlight bulb on my 2004 Kia Optima (not the Sedona.) The bulb looks the same though--Sylvania brand H7. In the Optima, I was able to replace the bulb without removing the entire housing, but it was a challenge to get the clamp back down. I hope that I got it all lined up properly and it won't work loose when I hit a bump!

I'm having a weird problem here with my 2003 Sedona. I changed out both bulbs for my low beams, when I turned the selector to low beam, nothing came on, and when I switched it to high beam, both high and low came on. I'm stumped on what it could be, any suggestions? (I checked all the fuses and they are all in fine shape.)

3:00 you must remove the h7 socket first.. than undo the lamp.. if you undo the lamp and then remove socket you will be dificulty to remove socket My sedona bulb replacement.. i dont undo the headlamp.like you do.. just reach my hand from the top.. more difficult more time but simple..

13/32? Hopefully no one has tried to find such a rarely used size because of this video. Just use a 10mm, it's the correct size of the bolts and it's a common size.

I found the 13/32 did not fit my socket wrench without an adapter and I misplaced it, I'll find it later, but the 10mm works best. Mine does not need an adapter and I've used it on several different bolts on the kia.

WOW I used guess work. I installed the bulb with the light fixture in place. It killed my hands. I lost the retainer spring. It went boing, Gone. So I had to make one. It took me 6 1/2 hours not minutes. And I change the high-beam not the low-beam. But thanks, this Time it should be much easier. May GOD forgive me for all the cursing I did. Scott Free
