What i like most about this channel besides all the great knowledge is that the creator tries his best to encourage other to do this work and have the confidence to succeed as long as they follow his method. I've been doing headlight restoration on my own cars for years using the 3M restoration kits and my confidence level is pretty high. But i have learned a ton more since i subscribed. I'm now doing neighbor's cars and people are paying me for doing such a great job. It can be done!

After learning this method, a few times I doubt myself and others that I've done their lights to say it's damn good. I worked on a friend's Camry that was around 3 to 4 years old. His headlights weren't that bad at all. Literally didn't need the restoration yet. After finishing one side, he was still amazed that it looked better than the other side. For sure there wasn't too much of a difference, still they were looking good. I didn't feel confident enough to start charging yet. But I've done about 5 cars and now I'm ready to start charging. Best training video for headlight restoration. Just watching these videos reinforces the method for me. Been reviewing the videos again just to make sure I didn't miss anything and also cataloging pointers and tips.

Love the after-shots! And keep learning more and more. Excited because I just picked up the AC Delco Polisher. It feels so much better in my hand than my full sized DA Polisher.

Yeah that's much more comfortable than a full size da full size da on a light has no place and really a DA at all has no place in headlight restoration... It's too big and the wrong motion as well...👍🏽 Thank you for watching..

Are there any health effects down the line from breathing in the sanding particles from headlights? Will wearing a respirator fully eliminate those risks? I can’t find any articles online dedicated to this. I’ve been doing this part time but I’m thinking about doing it full time. Only thing stopping me is wondering if I’ll get cancer from it in 10 years. Please let me know what you think and what precautions you take to minimize the risks. Thanks!
@theheadlightrestorationpro8 ай бұрын
You can get cancer we're not going across the street...🤣🤣🤣 With that being said it's totally safe if you are safe if you wear your PPE.. Far as the dust you can get away with wearing an n95 mask a covid mask the particles are too big to pass through very limited and small exposure.. nobody's really doing this 8 hours straight even if you work 8 hours you're not doing it 8 hours straight of nothing but headlight restoration so it's very limited exposure.. Far as the spraying part which is the most dangerous part you need to have a proper respirator.. exposure will be very limited and if you do get exposed you'll know you'll taste it.. but there's ways to get around to zero exposure... Just like any other job whether you're a welder, a painter, working at a landfill all the above I just said will Grant you more exposure.. you can go as far as you want with respirators to have that zero exposure they even have oxygen fed zero exposure face mask and headgear.. I'm interested in going that route in the future but they're very expensive thousand plus.. So yes it's very safe if you are safe.. I haven't always been but I've learned my lesson....

Have you experimented with other brand pads besides the 3m? Or is the 3m superior to all others?
@theheadlightrestorationpro8 ай бұрын
Yeah man 3M Superior to everything out there not just pads but most likely anything they make they're multi-billion dollar company that have stock options and scientists that probably make multi millions each year.. they are the best of the best.. so of course they're the best... I'm trying many different kind to get around the cost of them because they are quite expensive as you get 50 for the price of what you would get 5,000 of other for.. but that should tell you right there how cheap other discs are... These discard Superior because they are 3M and also because they are the European scale which is why they have a p in the front they're much much much higher quality made compared to the regular version of sandpaper which just has a number... There's no comparison might as well get the 3M going to make your life so much easier as far as headlight restoration..
@MidoriHatch8 ай бұрын
@theheadlightrestorationpro Definitely going with the 3m. Thanks for the knowledge. I was seeing the prices of 3m vs others and Definitely see what your saying.
@theheadlightrestorationpro8 ай бұрын
@Sebastian-vw5ch yeah you would think I'll just save money by using these ones but one of these 3M discs will do what 10 of these other disc will do...

Hi my mentoor, I did everything the way u said, but after I buff with chemical guys headlight restorer, I still see fine fine scratches, it that normal
@theheadlightrestorationpro8 ай бұрын
Well you have to evaluate if they're superficial scratches are up there actual scratches that will be seen after the clear coating.... Typically at this stage if you see too prominent of scratching left behind you didn't do enough of the 800 stages... And or you're pressing too hard when using the p500 or anything and greater... Typically it's both..
@mankybrains8 ай бұрын
I can concur with the master's words. A few headlights I've done, I've pressed down too hard or something weird with the sandpaper and left some deeper scratches than I liked. After spraying, some scratches you could see and some disappeared. If you looked hard enough and knew where they were, you could still see them. But if you had no clue, you wouldn't notice them at all. I do point out the scratches and blemishes to customers (friends). All in all, the people were more happy and mesmerized they could see inside their headlight clearly again.

Those are the people who most likely don't care too much about good care and don't want to spend money on having it done. I'd have been like that years ago. The question also, how old are these cars that refused. What you could do is sell them the fact you can restore them to be clear again. After that, you can tell them instead of using toothpaste or wd40, they could just then buy aftercare kit from the store or from you at a fraction of the price. Also letting them know that instead of reapplying the crap on their headlights every few days, they'd just have to reapply the aftercare every 2 to 3 months and their headlights would stay clear for many years. Less wasted time and hassle. The good thing though only half said such thing. You still had half you would work with if they weren't interested at that moment.
