Watching the HRP perform for an audience was quite interesting......that would have sent me into orbit! After weeks and weeks of studying your method and the videos, this 70+ yr old student of yours finally jumped in the pool and made my attempt at the Jeep. Took me quite a while going thru each step carefully but wow they turned out just fantastic. What a satisfying feeling seeing those lenses crystal clear. You are a teacher extraordinaire! Thank you.

Did one car over the weekend while another person and the person’s whom’s car it was watched me and was able to get two more vehicles done that day thanks to your method 🙏🏽 The people watching were very pleased with my work that they wanted theirs done too! Tip: what helped me with people watching was me explaining what I was doing like you do with us in these videos! Thank you HRPro🙏🏽

Yup, know the feeling. I did a restoration on 27th January and I had three people watch me do the whole restoration. Kinda puts you on edge but I followed your method and as usual I didn't fuck up. What was nice were the comments I got after I'd finished. They kept saying "Amazing, can you do mine" "Have you got any cards". The system you have shown me sells itself. Thanks Don, I appreciate everything that you put out on KZbin and I have learned so much from you. Kind regards. Jim, from across the pond.

Don't know if you're asking him or me.. But me typically it's about on average about 45 minutes of vehicle...(depending on difficulty level those numbers can go up slightly)

@@theheadlightrestorationpro hey Don. I was asking James. I also have done your method, but it took me 2.5 hours. From arrival to finish and I feel that it’s too long. So I am wondering how long it’s taking other beginners.
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 11 ай бұрын
@itsandrew8758 oh I see well if it's taking you that long that's a bit long even before beginner... But that's okay you got to move at your own pace I will practice on your speed without sacrificing quality or safety... You might be moving too slow or being too meticulous I would watch some of my videos close or better yet closer to really pay attention to my motion and movement and what it takes to remove the damage or better yet on each step because if you're taking that long more than likely you're just removing a lot more headlight than you need to... That's the only thing I can think that's happening you also want to get to the point where you know what to remove and how long to sand because at 2.5 hours you're probably removing enough for five headlight restorations which is not a good thing....

Noise canceling headphones and some chilled music works well when doing cars to block out all distractions. Though I tend to just leave one in the ear because for some reason people love to go into full conversations when you wearing headphones .

I do headlight restorations and I’m also the type of customer that likes to watch a job being done, as that type of customer that likes to hang out and watch, I can tell u it’s purely a curiosity thing, I learn buy watching things being done. If I’m watching someone work on my car or my house or whatever it’s because I’m curious about how it’s done and how it can be done efficiently while trying to learn what tools and processes are required, and in turn trying to figure out if it’s something I could or would want to do myself in the future or if I would just prefer to pay someone else to do it. Not once does the though cross my mind that that person or people are messing something up or doing it wrong, if I felt that I couldn’t trust someone to do the job I’d do it myself or higher someone different. I get where ur coming from though because I’ve been in ur shoes as well. Plus I just don’t like when people are behind me, it makes me nervous and puts me on guard. I think that comes from being prior military.

Been watching a ton of your videos. They are amazing. And this one…the over the shoulder is bad…but the video calls are next level. Great job getting it done! After watching your videos, I’m thinking of taking your method to my own headlights. Any advice or tips for headlights on a 2010 Audi S4 that just showing clouding on the tops of the lights (no previous polishing or headlight restoration)??? I’m sure you’ve done a ton… Thanks so much. Can’t wait for the next video

Headlight Pro, I'm glad you did a restoration on this 2012. I have a 2010 Accord, my headlights aren't quite this bad, but just now starting to slightly haze over. Do you recommend 800 or finer grit? Do you apply one generous even coat of the Meguiars or two coats, one light , one heavy?

Love the great videos and tips! I have a question about the clear coat. Ive searched and found many different clearcoats and even 2k says it has a Headlight version of it. Are there any other clear coats you woould recommend apart from the Meguiars coating and 3m Quick headlight coating pad kit? Much appreciated and keep up the great work! ❤ ps. Just in case the meguiars is sold out and cant get any...

Maguire's is the best coating out there in the market by far... No need to worry about anything else.... No 2K is designed for headlights there's only one company that says they have one that is kind of a crock of shit it's very bad for your headlights if you search too clear for headlights on Google you'll only see one thing that comes up... That should be red flag right there about using 2K clear... But of course there's other things you can use but I don't waste my time with it just basically they're all fives or lower Maguire's is a 10.5... 💯

Did you start with the P800 because of the soft surface of the Japanese autos? Would it ever make sense to start with P800 doing a Kia, Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes hard headlights?
@theheadlightrestorationpro
@theheadlightrestorationpro 11 ай бұрын
I started with the p800 because all the clear coat was gone and the surface wasn't that damaged it was a very thin very surface type damage... So it didn't need that much of a removal... Also yes Japanese cars are softer headlights.. Most BMW Hyundai keys you will not be able to do that with no matter what...

My evil 370z lights turned out beautifully! I did 600, 800, 1500…. 3m polished (discontinued)… then max speed on my torx car polisher 5.5” pad… One small area I had to polish by hand…. Alcohol wipe and Megs headlight spray…. Except it took me 3 hours 🤣🤣🤣 Swapped out the garbage stock projectors for the morimoto d2s 5.0… painted… 4 days - about 4-6 hours per day… Took advantage of this warm January! Turned out amazing - “better than new” as you say! Thank you so much for your help encouragement humor and pointing out what not to do!
