I have Phillips H9 bulbs in my Tacoma that come with H11 bulbs for the low.beams, the fitment of the three prongs is the same , just have to trim out the top small tab in the connector of the H9 to fit in the H11 plug , better and brighter light 👍

Been running H9 in lieu of H11 since one of my Morimoto 2 Strokes burnt out. Vey impressed with the output and it’s lasted as long as I’ve had 2 Strokes. Finally upgraded to H11 Xtreme LED pros because of the fan less option. It was truly the best bang for your buck. 👍

but if you put a more powerful (65w) bulb instead of a 35w bulb won't damage something in that light housing (like the inner part of it,the reflective mirror)?

You would only have to worry about heat damage with higher-wattage HIDs - the most you have to worry about with higher-wattage halogen bulbs is poor reliability. More wattage typically means a shorter lifespan.

Are H11, H9 and H8 the same? Yes, H11, H9, and H8 are the same bulbs they just carry different part numbers, positions, and default wattages for standard halogen bulb replacements. Aside from these minor differences, all three are identical on every other front from size and shape to locking tabs and connectors

My 2015 Dodge Dart GT has 2012 headlights and H11 foglights. I currently run Osram 9006 Night Breaker Online headlights and H11 Night Breaker laser foglights. I've heard 9012 are brighter but have yet to find a light brighter than my Osrams.

If it's an OEM LED headlight, unfortunately those bulbs aren't replaceable!

Great video. I have a 2011 Thor 368fd challenger. I want to upgrade the headlights to leds but can’t find any that fits. I did find a hid headlight. Problem is it called for PERDE Replacement for Solar Series Xenon Platinum 9005 Halogen bulb. Any suggestions on a brighter low beam bulb

Since it sounds like you have OEM HIDs (based on the HID mentioned), I wouldn't recommend replacing them with LEDs. Instead, I suggest upgrading to high-quality D1S bulbs from Philips or Osram for a brighter low beam. I’m trying to find something brighter than the standard bulbs that came with it. They are dim and yellow looking. At night you can barely see the road on a clear night.

I have halogen bulbs, I want to switch them to Leds. Do I need a bellaster for the Leds to work, or is there a led that is like a "plug and play" i could put in?

What would you recommend as an LED upgrade for a Chevy TrailBlazer 2021.? If i recall the high beam is an H9 bulb and the low beam a 9005 halogen headlight. Thank you very much in advance.

In the case of the 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer, the low beam is actually a 9005 bulb, and the high beam is an H9. For an LED upgrade, we’d recommend either GTR Lighting LEDs or Morimoto 2Strokes - they’re excellent options for both performance and longevity. I have a 2020 Nissan rogue, I need to buy the low and high beam headlight bulbs LED (set of 4)my question:; is there a difference between the high and low beam bulbs, I know that the brightness is normally different between them, but is it because the bulb itself is more powerful and brighter, or it is the shape of the light housing itself is what makes the light brighter when it reflects. Anyone knows? Thanks

The low beam uses an H11 bulb type, the high beam uses H9. If you're replacing them with LEDs, it would all be the same size - H11.

Your OEM is H8, so yes you can use an H11 since they're cross compatible!

I currently use a Toyota Camry 2006 Model America Spec..please I'd like to know the following: 1: What is the best Head Light Bulb Brand or top 3/5 head light bulb brand 2: When I drive at night, my car light bulb is never bright, do I change the entire head light housing or just the bulb? 1. Morimoto Lighting, GTR Lighting, SV4, Philips 2. How old is your current bulb? What are the condition of the lenses? Is the bowl burnt? Try replacing the bulb first, and then go from there! 3. Yes, a hazy lens will make light output worse. You can either re-finish the headlight lens or replace the headlight altogether.

Hi there! I am planning to swap out my halogen h8 35w fog lights from my a4 b9 as they are a bit yellow. I was wondering if i can swap them with led ones. Can i safely use some led with a wattage higher or lower than the 35 on the halogens as it seems i cannot find some 35w led. Thanks

Yes you can safely use LEDs in your fog light, they produce much less heat than halogen bulbs.

H16 is also cross-compatible with H8/H9/H11, the major difference being the wattage. H8, H9, and H11 all run above 35W, whereas the H16 is much lower at around 20W - not nearly bright enough for headlight usage.

I agree, my 18 Highlander has H16 fogs at 19W. I wonder, if I replace them with a set of higher watt leds, will they be capped at 19W?

Why Joel's advise matters: Electrical devices with different wattages are more dependent on the device, not the power source. A lower wattage device will run normally in a high-watt situation, while a high-wattage device can burn out lower-watt lines and fuses, and even start fires. Before upgrading, be sure your fixture and wiring (all the way to the source, depending on your application) support _at least_ the wattage of your device. Think of it this way: The power source does not _push_ power to the device, the device _pulls_ power from the source. If it pulls too hard, bad things can happen. This is why tiny night lights are fine in your home's wall socket, but a big guitar amp might burn the socket or blow a fuse. The device is usually fine in both cases.
