2020 anyone? I keep coming back to watch this awesome video!
@johnwente14135 жыл бұрын
Things about this video I find truly amazing: 1) Your skill at cutting and sculpting the foam board. 2) The attention to detail right down to the tiny parts. 3) The overall final effect of an aged vehicle that has seen some rough use. 4) Your patience. This must have taken many, many hours to complete. Great job!

So nice to see something that is not 3D printed or cnc. I tell my sons how we always made things from scratch and the quality it adds to the overall presence of an item or personal possession. It's a quality that cannot be mass produced. There was an old fellow near me with a heavy German accent that used to build things from wood, card stock and any other available resource and make some of the most stunning models. A lot of military planes, vehicles, artillery and locomotives. Some with a diorama setup. All gleaned from photographs. He was a former history teacher. He claimed that this modeling brought him that much closer to the history, which was his true passion.

amazing work....but im having trouble finding this komacel. I found the homepage for the company and there are many products they make, but I don't know which you used or where to actually buy the stuff. it looks like it has a thin plastic outer shell with foam core, thus benefits of both balsa and plastic materials.
@Headquake13710 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure where to get the komacel new, I get it as scrap from a signmaking business. Its not foam core, its a solid vinyl sheet. I prefer the 3mm thickness best. :)

Headquake137 thanx for replying. iv been wanting to take a 1/8 scale MOA crawler and build a ladder chassis and a '87 Toyota pickup body for it. I wonder if those square vinyl self-stick tiles would work? I don't think they are as stiff as what you were using tho. and im not so sure you could sand/round the edges like you did. that was the cool part, you could form it like a simple sheet good, but sand it like balsa or other wood.
+Headquake137 suggestion: for next video of making a rc car body, make a muscle car chevrolet camaro 1980 iroc z
