@@CallOneInc All of these mic tests are in noisy environments. Now everyone is working from home please do comparisons in quiet environments. I'd love to see a show down between all of the headsets and the speakerphones. The ones on my list at the moment are the Jabra Evolve 75e, the Plantronics Voyager 6200, and the Jabra 510. I'm using the Jabra Evolve 40 but it's wired and would like to be both hands free and without a wire if possible.

Loved this video! I have had the Blueparrot 450 for a couple months now and it does a great job but that Logitech Zone has Stereo and seemed to do well blocking noise. I dont think you had a dog barking at the time. My battery just died on Blueparrot 450. Was looking to get something different but its price point compared to abilities seems to be one of the best.

I like to ride my escooter with my friend and we call each other whilst riding to give directions and chat alongside with each other. We’re getting a lot of wind noise and poor audio/voice quality during our rides. Any recommendations for our particular situation/scenario?

@@mrgadget997 motorbike headsets are costly and that's a whole other knowledge-base. for now, use a fluffy/furry muffler on both mics (voice and ambient)

I am using Blueparrot 450 XT and it does good noise cancellation on the microphone. The issue I noticed is that Bluetooth is not stable and at times the party at the other end told me that my voice is cutting out. It is not clear to me under what circumstances this happens. Most of the time it works Ok. Also when you start speaking, the initial sub-second bit may be cut off, so cough before you start to initialize the mic!

Roam up to 300ft/100m from paired Bluetooth® devices. Wireless or corded; connect with a cable or go wireless with Bluetooth I did some more research but this only blocks out 82% of background noise

Nice video, however, I am trying to understand the difference between trucker’s headset and office/home headsets in terms of functionality and to know if there is any difference in type of noise to be eliminated between both. I understand how it looks like trucker’s headsets are designed to eliminate more loud noises, but do they block low house noises as wel?, like kids screaming, talks, TV, etc.. better than trucker’s headsets? Is it the type of noise that every type is better in blocking or just the amount of noise? If it is the amount of noises then trucker’s devices could be better if shape and ruggedness is acceptable, and of course I am talking about mic noise cancelling with mono ear headsets.

From what I could tell It seemed like the Logitech and the BlueParrott blocked the most noise while still maintaining good voice quality, but in your video you did not have the dog barking with those 2 models. When you work at home which one do you use? I know none of them "completely" eliminated the dog noise but then again he was sitting right in your office.

Since i am working from home, i do not have any background noise and so I do not need ANC. I also do not listen to music and again I do not need ANC. Those are impressive! Does any of those work on Linux (mostly the mic noise reduction)? Maybe the bluetooth ones don't have software noise reduction that depends on the drivers? Like, literally any of those. It's like you're only allowed to have good quality calls on WIndows/MacOS or on your phone!

Pandemic and all means a lot of remote work at home with other people around and home office noise - like the one on the video! It's not that rare, I suppose? Only difference is that we usually use Linux (ex. Ubuntu), given our line of work. Thing is, most brands only officially support Windows/Mac and those are really expensive if I were to buy one and discover it doesn't work properly on Linux... for instance, I've tried a Jabra Evolve 40 and could not get the mic noise reduction to work at all!

But how is it in an office environment where there are a lot of people talking. My dogs bark all the time. You can film at my house. Trying to decide between Engage 75 and MB660. Also, the description says Engage 75 but the overlay says Evolve. Which was it?

From my research, the mb 660 will probably sound much better when you're listening to music... But the mic is probably far worse than the evolve 75. I have the evolve 75, but I'm considering the mb 660 for music and occasional conference calls. For important calls, the evolve 75 will be my pick.

Big fan of the BlueParrott and Jabra Evolve 75! FYI you've linked the Engage 75, yet tested the Evolve. Out of curiosity. how does the BlueParrott S450 XT compare? @@CallOneInc Just thinking of business customers too. I get complaints all the time that my typing is too loud when I am on a conference call for work. I don't think you need ot buy a bunch of keyboards. Just get one keyboard that is considered "the loudest" like a Unicomp Model M, and then do a sound test with an average business user typing away while on a conference call.

I'm working in the same room as my partner and we are constantly on calls. I am looking for a headphone that would be able to cancel out each other voice and the background sound while being on the conference call so that it's easily heard by the people on the other side of the call. Which would you recommend?

Clearly nothing beats having the mic close to your mouth! Designs that try to pick up your voice from the earmuffs are hopelessly disadvantaged. Is a wand sticking out really that intrusive? Surely its worth it. Especially in the high frequencies its so much better which means sibilance/diction will be much better heard and you'll be understood better. Especially important if the other end is using a garbage communication device which so many cell phones are.

Top 3 1. Blue parrot - voice clear, background sounds subdued 2. Jabra evolve 75 - voice clear, background sounds subdued but not sure if test had the floor cleaner sounds so not equal comparison 3. Logitech zone - voice is kind of good (the S sounds digital), background sounds subdued excellently Only issue with blue parrot it looks clunky and only one ear.

I have the Blue P 450xt and it does support Bluetooth on laptop. Firmware can also be upgraded. Drive with window down and nobody knows your in the car. btw, Jabra owns Blue Parrot acquired them few years ago.

@@CallOneInc Great videos. Sorry for my ignorance. I can pair my blueparrot bx450t with my laptop through bluetooth. It seems to work fine but is the call quality bad as you say its not supported. Again apologies for my confusion on this and any clarity would be very welcome.

So here's a question that I genuinely hope someone can answer to me. It's not meant as criticism, I love the videos from Call One Inc :) it's more a question that no one could answer to me so far and is critical towards the whole call center headsets... How can it be that all these business headsets seem to sound 1950 compared to say the bose 700 headphones, which were actually made primarily for listening to music (personal opinion)? I don't want to buy the bose 700 because of 1. the thick earpads which can get really sweaty & hot in the office environment 2. because I think it'll look weird 3. because the connectivity to computer and skype can be buggy as I saw from reviews (made mostly for mobile) but man... my colleagues that I call that bought them (about 50% of our call center now!!) sound like their in a closed-down private room. I just can't get this into my head. I can't understand how bad these headsets sound voice quality-wise. Please correct me if I'm wrong or missing anything... I mean you can hear the person but it sounds sort of mechanical compared to something like the bose 700 that, to me, sound like a joe Rogan style microphone in comparison. Please let me know if I'm missing something. I really hope I'm wrong...

Hey, Call One: Elvis Frog requested testing using the supplied dongles (8mo ago), while Bob Hoskins called out background noise levels and type are changing and recommended using speakers to simulate noise (2mo ago). Thus, I challenge you: get more scientific! How cool would it be to have a repository of recordings you made of the same "Harvard sentence" (e.g. "The ripe taste of cheese improves with age.") repeated for every microphone with certain constants: no background noise, or the same background noise file played out of the same speakers at a certain volume from a certain distance. Both with and without noise tests can be repeated via dongle and BlueTooth. Every quarter, you could release a video of all the recordings from new devices with your comments. You could also release a video of all the recordings you've made since you started Project Apples to Apples Mic Comparison. Just imagine how useful this kind of consistency would be! Thank you so much for your great work :)

Ahaha loving the new videos with the decibel meter and poor little guy getting the Roomba torture (kidding! that dog is loved). Hmm also starting to envision these common metrics across models, like a big database/table you maintain with model, release date, MSRP, then 1-10 ratings for ANC, mic quality, audio quality, noisy home use, quiet home use, call center B2B/bulk value, comfort, aesthetics, etc. Thank you for the instant reply and CHEERS!
