Was there a couple weeks ago with 3 other dudes, caught 100+ fish between the 4 of us. 5 over 4lbs, 10 over 3lbs, and the rest were all 2lbs. Most were caught on either green pumpkin or plumb speed worm. I caught the biggest of the day flipping the reeds with a beaver. No topwater bites :(

Yeah, someone pointed out that when we went, it was during a bad moon phase. Still trying to figure that out lol. I'm definitely going to go back, but focus more on the worm bite. Thanks for the info!

That noise that came out of Dom was hilarious! 😆 I gotta hit that place up! Great drone shots man!

Most people that caught those big numbers are fishing worms and other finesse baits. Seems like the top water bite has died off from when it first opened. Look for wind blown points in the grass or a isolate reed or old tree branch fish seem to be holding around those area and around the canal points where they intersect each other. Bitters speed worm black and blue was killing them Monday.

Damn, We we’re so focused on trying to get some big topwater bites early on, then we moved around ALOT! I’m planning another trip here soon. Gonna have to pick up some of them bitters.

Swampazz Fishing ya man don’t feel bad I too wasted a whole day up there trying for a top water bite, I tried everything from a frog, a buzz bait to a Haden super spook without any bites. After talking to a few people that have been fishing there seems like the bites on worms,sienkos, small swim baits, small square Bill crank baits in the deeper channels or like fluke types baits. I did have luck with a small chatter bait and trailer ripping it through the grass. Anyways better luck on your next trip up that way.

There are a few videos of guys that were killing quality bass.....I'm talking 4.5 lb culls, on popping frogs there. But I looked up the lunar phases for the days these guys & others were tearing em up ( 100 fish days ) and sure enough, they were there on the best days of the lunar phases. I was there myself 2 or 3 weeks ago on a Saturday ( my only chance due to work schedule ) with it being one of the worst days of the month for the lunar phases. Only caught 4 all day with a 4.5 best. Left about 1 pm. Of course conditions & water clarity play the biggest role, but if conditions are at least decent, I'm to the point where I swear by the solunar tables. Check out the free website: "Solunar - Best Fishing Times" by In-Fisherman. Don't get me wrong, I've been successful on days that were suppose to suck, but after years of using the lunar phases ( if work schedule allows ) at the Stick Marsh/Farm 13, and if conditions were decent to good, I almost always catch bigger fish. I've only got to fish this new lake once so far. But over the years at the Stick Marsh/Farm 13, to date, I've caught four 12's, thirteen 10's, eleven 9's, and I literally can't count the 6 to 8's I've caught out of there. ( using lures and shiners, I fish wild shiners only from late Nov thru April & toss lures between the shiner bite, I once caught a 9.5 on a shiner then 15 min later, caught an 8.5 on a grass jig in the same area ) This past July 4th, the solunar tables called for the major bite to start I think is was around 10:30 am. Fishing was slow up to that point, and sure enough, I began catching fish including an 8 lb'er in Farm 13. Hardly anyone else was down there at the time. If weather & conditions are good for either day/option, guys, always go if you can, on the better moon phases. Trust me. If conditions are poor such as dirty water, hot water & no wind......the lunar phase won't matter. This place should be on fire come November with the cooler weather!!!

25mph! Bro!!!

I know, right! I only run a 40 hp so it’s easy for me. Those bigger boats, I didn’t see one trying to maintain 25 mph.

was there a speed limit of 25
@SwampazzFishing4 жыл бұрын
There is, and most of the larger bass boats were NOT abiding by the speed limit.

Yea.... see that sign? 25mph max all over the waters! And idle past any other boat! Don't be "that guy" The wardens are out there in plain clothes watching.... As "locals" were just letting you know
@SwampazzFishing4 жыл бұрын
Yessir! I was maintaining the 25 as I only have a 40 and can’t go much faster than that. It upset me that those big boats were just ignoring the speed limits. They were also running right through some of the submerged grass areas leaving prop cuts all over the place. Sad

I was mainly saying that so others would know

Why aren’t you young men serving your country you need to earn your right to bass fish
@SwampazzFishing3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean serve military time? Are you implying that if we did not serve then we haven't earned/deserve the right to bass fish?
