Your laptop can be repaired. Search for an independent tech (non Apple) in your area that can repair the motherboard and you'll have access to your files. Apple has no interest in helping you repair your machine as they would rather sell you a new one. Going forward I would suggest you setup a NAS (network attached storage) in your apartment so that when you're connected to your WiFi your laptop will automatically backup to it. It's like having your own personal cloud in your residence.
@bayangannaga Жыл бұрын
As someone in IT, i would say always make back ups on external drives. Never keep files just in one place and don't rely too much on the cloud. I have a backup of most of my important files on a NAS and once every few months i make a back up of my NAS to an external harddrive that i keep inside a fireproof safe. If something happens to my pc no problem i still have my NAS, does someting also happen to my NAS, no problem i still have the hardrive in my safe. And chances are low that something happens to all 3 at the same time. But anyways, stay strong, You'll get through this. And i'm sure you'll eventually find someone who will love you as much as you love them.

It's okay to grieve the loss of something that meant a lot to you. You're grieving. So allow yourself to grieve. What you'll find is that the time you spend grieving will lessen as you continue to live life. What you're experiencing is individual to you, so don't feel bad about it. This time where you are experiencing both grief and loss yet the desire to continue to live and move forward is who you are as a person. What I see is a healthy human being just experiencing their current feelings. It understandable and relatable. Don't fight it, don't feel guilty, honor your feelings because it you being you.

Hi Anna. Thank you for sharing your life with us, the good and the bad. Having good people around you is key when everything goes hell. My electrical engineer brain switched on when you were talking about losing all of your files. Depending on the failure in the motherboard, the data may still be recoverable so don't discard the laptop. There are shops that can either repair the mainboard enough to get the data off of it or remove the chips where the data is stored and put them on another working board that can access the data. There's no guarantee that it would work and it doesn't tend to come cheap, but it's an option.

The worst part of a break up is the high/low period. One minute you are fine and feeling like you have control over the situation finally and then the next, you are hit with sadness. Don’t worry, you know this is just temporary. It will be a distant memory soon. Until then you have all of our continued support and well wishes. ❤

Anna I love these raw/ real videos you’ve been making showing the realities of hard breakups. I for one can relate so much to what you’re going. You should feel so proud of yourself for not completely shutting down and carrying on with your life. It’s okay to take breaks and acknowledge that you’re not feeling your best. Also, talking/ being open about your feelings wether it’s to your friends, a therapist or the internet, in my opinion i think it's a great way to promote your own healing. I hope you feel better soon girl! Fighting! 💜🫰🏻✨

Anna one can't really totally explain why we love you, I think it's just because of who you are, like any other close friend. The internet is funny, in some ways I guess it allows us to be closer than real life might permit with people we might never meet. That being said, thank you for being so honest. Your life is a reflection of so many lives -- it appears bright and shiny on the outside but there are struggles and realities behind the scenes that we all deal with. Sure, I'm older, married, with a different career living in a different culture and a different country, but the struggles when you get down to it are the same -- disappointments, struggles, feeling alone, getting hit from left field with painful and difficult events -- anyway, sending mental hugs, love, and encouragement. Yes, you are stronger than most of us and you already know to just get up each day and start over -- but maybe hearing it helps anyway? Love from Houston...

Everyone goes through breakups differently. I prefer diving deep and work through my feelings and learn as much as I can. Ots painful doing that, but when I'm through it, I dont get feelings of missing the person. I also journal to process my feelings. Afterwards I just distract myself with watching shows or doing activites. I think the more you like the person, the longer it takes to heal. Moreso, if you unconsciously plan a future together.

Braking up with someone is very painful. It is worst than recovery from surgery because we were never supposed to separate after the marital union. The only cause for separation is supposed to be death. I am going through the same thing at this very moment and I have no idea how, or when, I will ever see the light at the end of this tunnel. It hurts like a fist in the chest when it hurts. Sometimes I can find a reason to laugh and smile, however, I am haunted by the fact that I still love her, even though I know it is truly over between us. Anna Lee, I wish you all the best. You are a beautiful lady and I thank you for sharing this moment with me.💔❤🩹❤💞

Anna, I'm a lot older than you and live half-way around the world, but I really enjoy watching your content. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. It was good to go away for a couple of days, even if it's early and the healing process needs more time, it was still a good thing. I feel you both on the lost files (lost A LOT of stuff years ago, it was so traumatic) and the breakup, even tho in my case it was a situationship with a lot of potential, so not even a real thing. And I've had an 11 years long relationship that took me a veeery long time to recover from. You know you're gonna be ok one day, but the process is horrible. We just want to stop feeling sad and having the ups and downs. It's hard when we feel good and we think we're ok, and then we feel sad again. But it will be ok in the end ♥

You are so beautiful, inside and out. You'll get through this. Allow yourself the time and space to sit with your feelings, even if they make you sad. Simple option… but an portable external drive (something like 1 or 2 TB in size) and you can offload all your work daily to it. It’s a simple and relatively inexpensive way to save you data and it won’t be hacked or stolen like it can be with the cloud. Of course you can just access your files directly from the external drive to make things easier however keeping a separate copy will always help save you sanity. I periodically copy all my data and program file to the external drive and it gives me piece of mind.

As a YouTber i have a 2Tera portable external drive (small) and i have bigger ones (vaults) that i regularly transfer onto. It's a must! I don't use the Cloud at all because i film so much it would be wayyyy too expensive to buy that extra space.

Hi Anna - Sending happy thoughts and well wishes your way. You'll get through this, and as they say "This, too, shall pass." I have faith that you'll find the perfect person for you. Just live your best life. I was debating if I should share this, but I will in hopes that it will help you - my ex-wife and I divorced after 10 years of marriage. To say that I was blind-sided would be an understatement. She wanted to re-live her youth and wasn't agreeable to counseling or anything. That left me with taking care of twin boys who were less than 3 years old and a 6 year old daughter. I don't know how I got through it - they've all graduated from university now. If a person like me can get through something like that, you can, too :) There will be down times and times when you're up. Just keep pushing through, live your life, spend time with friends, and stay active. Wishing you all the best!

Always have a backup. I don't even keep files on my internal drives anymore, outside of program software it's bare so I only need 256gb SSD laptops. I keep any personal/content files on 2 external copies. May even add a 3rd copy drive soon, that's overkill for most people but for you (content creators) probably smart to always have at least 1 backup imo. Keep it simple tho, update once every month or two, maybe 6 months, no need to do it daily tho.

It takes time to heal, don’t stress over it too much. It can be 4 weeks from a breakup or trauma or any situation, it can be 2 years and a person can not feel 100%. Each person has their own time/journey for healing. I hope you were able to have a good trip. We can’t escape our problems but we can spend time with friends, do activities that bring happiness and make us forget about the problems (in the moment). Focus on that and keep your head up high, brighter days are coming ahead. 💜☺️

About computers: Always have back ups. A back up is not a back up, unless you have another back up. Have business stuff and your most important stuff backed up in 3 locations. For a business, always buy a business class computer with a standard 3 year warranty, not a 1 year warranty one where you can buy an extended warranty. Apple computers are not business class. I've had many in the past. Generally speaking from my experience in Canada in selling and building computers for 30 years in the Vancouver, Canada area, in the last 10 years or so, all consumer computers only come with 1 year warranty and they are meant to be used 3-4 hours a day on average. The business class computers can come in 1 year warranty and 3 year warranty and they are designed to by used 8 hours a day on average. The standard 3 year warranty ones have better quality parts then the 1 year warranty ones. Obviously, the 3 year warranty business class computer is going to cost more. The manufacturers really want people to buy the 1 year warranty ones because they will sell more because they are cheaper price and will fail sooner. The big question is how much can you afford in a computer and how many hours a day on average do you use it? It is then a financial calculation. In Canada, the Lenovo Thinkpad models with the 3 year warranty are the best value. Lenovo does have Thinkpads with only 1 year warranty. The HP Business class 3 year warranty models are better built than Lenovo, but significantly more money to buy.

Hi Anna! Funnily enough we had almost the exact same relationship timeline (from starting to date to break up, around the same week!). I personally find if I let all my sadness out it helps me move on faster, I feel pretty okay these days. Something that can help of you’re not good at feeling your feelings is to read books of people going through the same thing (notes on heartbreak by Annie Lord, Everything I know about love by Dolly Alderton, anything by dolly really haha) You’ve got this and you WILL bounce back and be grateful that things went the way they did ❤

You trying to quickly recover from a broken heart is not reasonable you need to just give yourself time to heal. I went through the same thing before I met my husband now we’ve been together for 28 years and married for 21 we met at 19. My last relationship before him was 2 years and I thought how would I get through this and I thought that the previous guy was supposed to be my one but destiny had other plans for me. When you least expect it and when you’re not looking you will find your one but until then don’t rush your healing because if you do you might rush into something you never wanted. I hope what I’m saying makes sense. I tell the same thing to my children don’t rush and don’t put your eggs in it be basket just enjoy every moment of your life 💜

I went through something similar with a 4 week old Mac book pro, years ago, just loaded a ton of photos from a east coast trip, we live outside Seattle, yeah losing all that was not fun. This was before all the cloud data sharing systems today. Keep your head up, going back to the hotel was probably wise, if your head and heart are not ready to be out. Give yourself some time, no need to jump immediately into a new relationship, an old girlfriend did that over and over, would tell me why guys are awful, she did eventually find the right guy, 3 months later they got married.
