@@DocSnipes This video specifically gave me understanding of borderline personality disorder. I was misdiagnosed with bipolar, anxiety, and PTSD. We tried medications for 5 years and nothing worked. I use your videos to help me with self awareness and personal growth.

You know, in the beginning when you said “enduring pattern of inner experience that deviates markedly from cultural expectations”, and I think about my adverse childhood experiences and trauma, that definitely was a pattern and it was inner experience for me because by definition I was not listened to. From your family or partner, you wouldn’t expect that. Of course you behave in relation to that then. It’s different than what you thought. You wanted and tried to live out those ideals, but it doesn’t go that way and of course you would suffer from that

Thank you so much for sharing that. You’re absolutely right-when your inner experience is invalidated, especially by those who are supposed to listen and support you, it creates a deep disconnect between what you hoped for and the reality you lived through. It’s completely understandable that this kind of trauma would shape how you navigate the world and your relationships. Recognizing those patterns, as painful as it is, is such an important step toward healing. I truly appreciate your insight, and I’m sending you so much compassion as you continue on your healing journey.

Thank you for your comment! I totally understand how work can sometimes take over and make it hard to attend live sessions. It sounds like you really enjoyed them, and it's great that you're still staying connected through the videos. Remember, self-care and taking time for your healing journey are important, even when life gets busy. If you ever find a little window of time, maybe you can catch up on some of the recordings or revisit past sessions that resonated with you. In the meantime, be gentle with yourself-you’re doing what you can, and that’s enough. Thank you for being part of this community, and I hope you can join a live session again soon when things settle down!

I understand what you mean that narcissism is being called out in ways that don't describe true NPD and I agree, simply high narcissism. I'm challenging a thought you had. Although that's true, people who are basically born into this digital TIK TOK YOU TUBE world, does that not still breed true NPD because it's hard not to see. Isn't that the same environment that breeds it, that likely being entitlement? Thx for the video

You’re most welcome. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I really appreciate the nuance you’re bringing to the conversation. You’re absolutely right that we live in a world where social media platforms like TikTok and KZbin can fuel narcissistic traits-things like entitlement, self-obsession, or the constant pursuit of validation. It’s easy to see how growing up in this environment could foster those traits in people. However, true Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) runs much deeper than high narcissism. NPD is rooted in significant early developmental wounds and is usually characterized by patterns of deep insecurity, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration that stems from underlying feelings of inadequacy. While the digital age might amplify narcissistic behaviors in some, it doesn’t necessarily create the depth of psychological issues seen in full-blown NPD. That said, it’s possible that the constant exposure to the curated, competitive, and validation-seeking nature of social media can certainly blur the lines between narcissistic traits and NPD for some people, making it harder to differentiate between the two. It’s a fascinating and important discussion, and I appreciate you challenging that point-there’s definitely room for more exploration on how this environment shapes self-perception and behavior in a deeper way. Thank you for watching the video. If you're interested in more tips on the topic or if you want to explore my video library, you can use my AI: allceus.com/AskDocSnipes.

@@DocSnipes ty, and I want to add that this new age of social media on mass likely hasn't had any concrete examples of say.......seombody who began social media in 2010 and now 2024, 14 years later, the full effects, alos depending on their age at onset of social media. Many variables. I suppose it takes time for something so in depth to come to fruition? And I mean in the context of full NPD associated with social media. I get your answer fully.
