Hello Greg, happy to hear that you and Wilma are doing well. I am learning that a dirty kitchen is quite a unique area that reserves special scrutiny in maintaining...at least in dry, enclosed areas and hotter, more dry land regions. It seems that Prince has security and keeping the peace, under control. As a binge viewer and subscriber, I appreciate the updates, knowing that your contractors are ready to be part of your building and maintaining content, looking forward to it! Nice to see that the weather has improved with some needed rain in that hot region and high spot. The home looks great, and the molding came out nice. Thanks for the updates and information. I am a subscriber and binge watcher of you and Wilma. I prefer the lengthy video during my down time, plus your content is consistent with a comfortable, couple lifestyle abroad. Continued blessings and thank you for sharing!

Greg, you should buy a half face respirator with hepa filters or simple dust filters. I work in the environmental field and they are fully effective. They may have them there, but if not they are at all Lowe's, home Depot and most paint supply stores here in the US. I'm sure you'll be able to find them there in the Ph. Good luck.

Years ago I was getting sick every 6-8 weeks. After about the 4th time I had my girlfriend’s sister and brother-in-law take a look at me (both are PAs). Apparently I had something like walking pneumonia or something like that. I would actually feel well, but the sickness never totally went away. They prescribed me some pills and I stopped getting sick. If you guys are sensitive to dust, I recommend doing a daily or every other day sinus rinse. I use the Navage which forces the solution through one nostril and then sucks it out the other one. It’s good for allergies or when it’s dusty or smoggy outside. I think that it also helps me to avoid getting sick as well. You might also think about wearing a mask when you’re outside and the neighbors are doing construction. I know that it’s hot there and wearing a mask would be a bit cumbersome, but I think that it will help. I used to help my friend to cut weeds on his mother’s 1 acre property. By the end of the day my nostrils were black. I started wearing a mask and it kept my nose clean.
@buildingthephilippines3 ай бұрын
All good suggestions. Appreciate them all. I was talking to my mom, and she recommended that device to flush out my sinuses. I need to order one.
@marianeil66303 ай бұрын
@buildingthephilippines Tell your Mom to order from USA Costco, get you many salt sachets or Amazon, Neilmed brand, is the best, they give you free bottle to flush. I had this in USA and brought here via Balikbayan box. Very effective especially to those with allergies and asthma. I did it twice a day or three times a day,
@lmcc00723 ай бұрын
@@buildingthephilippines The Navage actually takes a special (one time use) salt pod per use. If you don’t have the pod, you have to rig the Navage to make it work (there are KZbin videos). Those salt pods might be difficult to get there. The NeilMed Sinus Rinse might be better for the Philippines. You just need the salt packets for that one. It’s not electric though so you have to clear out your sinuses manually. Always make sure that the water that you use has been boiled or at least purified bottled water.

Between a dry winter, and a comparatively warm and dry spring here in the northeast US, my pollen allergies have been worse than normal this year, so i can understand what you are going through with the dust and pollen as dry as it has been there. Just like you when it rains I am happy when natures air filter kicks in. ls it difficult to find zertec, or other allergy meds in the Philippines, at the pharmacy? I remember that you had brought a big supply when you unpacked after moving in the house. I am glad you are on the mend, and hopefully Wilma will be much better soon. Find a good respirator and it will help when it is bad like you have been. The additional solar panels will help with making sure you have plenty of power.😊
@buildingthephilippines3 ай бұрын
Hi Steve, sorry to hear about your allergies. Really makes one feel miserable. Allergy medicine is plentiful here. Many types available. I use Zyrtec as well. Always well stocked up. It helps. A respirator I think is on the list as I'm tired of breathing in this dust during cleaning. Take care.

Glad you guys got some rain! I think you would need to use a rain gauge to properly measure rainfall total. One inch of rainfall in a hour will flood most cities. The record rainfall in one hour is approximately 3.5”. Raining 3” per hour you wouldn’t be able to see your hand in front of your face. Can’t wait to see the neighbors house update!

Hey Greg, you were saying that you were getting sniffles once a month. I get the same illness all the time as well! Sinus infection and head cold. For me, I found that sleeping in a cold air-conditioned room in the Philippines would give me a head cold. Leaving the air conditioning up a little higher than normal in the bedroom made all the difference for me. But like you were saying, I'm sure the dust isn't helping at all. Cheers!
@buildingthephilippines3 ай бұрын
Allergies are hard to live with. We never have the aircon on in the bedroom. At our elevation we don't need it. Really think it's the dust, especially when we kick it up while cleaning.

Hi Grey and Wilma, I don't have time now to watch the video now but the title grabbed me... I'm going on 1 year from US and I HAVE to wear a SN95 mask if l'm going to stay outside. Sorry to hear that y'all are feeling under the weather. Have environmental allergies too but they are not as bad as y'alls. Hope you both are feeling better soon. Glad you got the work done on your home. Why add the two extra solar panels though? Thought your wattage was sufficient to supply your home and that you had an excess every day. Great to see your videos again and am always looking forward to the next one. Thanks, Wilma and Greg...Jim
@buildingthephilippines3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the get well wishes. Adding 2 panels as the roof has space for 2 more. We make enough power now, but during the rainy season, if we get heavy clouds for several days it could be an issue. Hasn't happened yet, but it could. There so cheap now, I think it makes sense for the added opportunity to make power over several cloudy days at a time.

Not sure how the mask wouldn’t stop almost all the dust? 95 mask or cheapy?
@buildingthephilippines3 ай бұрын
Surgical masks are not designed to stop fine particulates. This was part of my business in the US. FDA actually requires yearly certification of all associates on the proper use of N95 style masks. Even this style is only 95% effective. However, 99% don't wear them correctly (not properly trained) or do wear them correctly, take a step, sweat, talk, scratch area around mask and everything bad rushes around the seal that was broken. Not to mention, any facial hair renders most masks worthless as well. I sat through too many of these certification trainings throughout my career.
