I can attest to the benefits of hormesis in my experience of struggling with chronic lyme disease and gulf War syndrome for many years. Both the sauna and especially the cold have been a literal life saver for me. I hit the mountain trail early morning at least 3 times a week. I hike hard for 30 minutes and then sit in the river for 5 minutes. Unbelievable reduction in pain levels and stress for most of the day afterwards. I highly recommend this therapy.

I have loved saunas ever since I was a kid. Nothing makes me happier when I'm traveling to find out that there is a sauna in the hotel. Going to an outdoor thermal experience next weekend even though the weather will be probably -18 C. Giant sauna, two steam rooms, a freezing cold plunge, two large hot pools a relaxation lounge! Love it!

I'm 37 been addicted to opiates for 12 years last year fentanyl and it's not an easy fight to get sober. But from 18 to 24 my cousin and I went to the local gym In Seattle and after weight training and treadmill we would goto the pool the steam room and the sauna. As we would walk outside the fresh air would ignite the natural high the feeling was so good and healthy alive feeling. Drugs and toxins are trickery. I hope someday I can experience a natural feeling of what the gym once brought to me after abusing myself with drugs.

my wife and I relocated from Georgia to northern Wyoming upon retirement. I was initially skeptical about how we would deal with the cold weather. As it turns out, it is one of the best things to ever happen to us. Our immune system is noticeably better. We now embrace the cold weather. Even at 65, we ski, ice skate, snowmobile, and go ice fishing. We are healthier than we have been in 20 years. It's hard to explain and I don't blame people who don't believe us, but its true.

I first discovered Rhonda through her many JRE appearances, and have been following her work for years now, and it's somewhat disappointing seeing all these comments about her appearance on this video. Rhonda is one of the best scientists in the English-speaking world when it comes to nutrition and biological optimisation - not only is she at the forefront of the research, she's also able to break it down in a way that's accessible and easy for everyday people to understand, and she goes out of her way to make this knowledge available to everyone, for free. When I saw the first comment saying "she knew what she was doing when she wore that top" I had a wry chuckle, but after scrolling down and seeing that something like 30-40% of comments are about her body I find myself with a bad taste in my mouth. I can appreciate an attractive woman as much as the next guy, and I don't fault anyone for noticing, but aside from anything else it's downright disrespectful to Rhonda to put those thoughts in writing on a presentation she's giving to make scientific knowledge accessible for everyone. Super disrespectful, distasteful, and disappointing. Dr. Patrick deserves much better.

Excellent information, thanks. The video educated me more specifically about the benefits. - I ice bath daily, often after sauna with infra-red light lamps. For a year now. - I have to report that I experience enormous mental illumination after the ice baths - experiencing superb new insights, ideas in all realms of my current thinking, actionable, and accompanied by enthusiastic eagerness and energy that often causes me to implement such ideas, or certainly to note them down before they are lost. - This is strategically very important in my business life and personal life.

Hi your infra-red light lamps in sauna; how far are they from your face/front of the body?
@BruceThomson3 жыл бұрын
@@kiransharda I believe they are safe at the distance of about 30cm to 40cm. I use the red light therapy about twice a week. For a year. My skin is not harmed. I monitor it. My optometrist recently, after two years since previous visit, said there was no need for a new prescription, as my eyes were healthy and had not deteriorated for two years. I have seen photos of skin browning claimed to be from red light. I'm observing it. The benefits so far seem, in theory, to justify continuing. My skin at chrono age 73 (and bio age 60 according to Span Health), is smooth, clear, beautiful as a baby's bottom or a woman's breast.
