If your existing policy is for Rs. 10 Lacs & you are buying a policy for Rs. 15 Lacs then there will be no waiting period till Rs 10 Lacs but for above 5 Lacs there will be a waiting period as per the terms & conditions of the policy.

After lot of search, I settled on new india but atlast found it has so much sub limits that one will be discouraged to buy it. Further, claim settlement behaviour of govt officials is doubtful. So none of the company is good. Ergo is good but atlast either they drastically increase the premium once they know one is captured or they discontinue the policy. Second option is Tata but again claim complaints are there for it. Totally lost
