Hey man, I came across your video you made years ago talking about your struggles with straight dating and as a cis man found it interesting to hear your take on it. I’m happy to see you’re doing well, hope your joint pain gets better.

Nice to see you still giving to the community. I donated blooed regularly until I beame iron deficiency anemic. Praise God, my hematocrit and RBC has remained stable. The other stuff, I had almost every surgery yiu can.😂 Except ED. Too risky, not important enough to me and being old, not worth the risk. Two lower surgeries plus so much more (top surgery too), I have nothing female parts related on me any longer and it is glorious! I can only imagine how painful atropohy is. My my surgical gynecologist (that did my vaginectomy) actually cut mine out before closing it. He said the ablation technique could leave some behind. I have heard that happen too! I am so glad he used a different method. Loving seeing you again, dude. ~Mark

Atrophy can absolutely cause pain down below. Cramping like period cramps, and also burning pain that feels like a UTI. Something that helps that not everyone may be comfortable with (in addition to localised estrogen) is making sure the v stays “in use” - basically to regularly insert something (can be a toy or a dilator such as trans women use) which will keep the tissue stretchy and healthy rather than seized up and atrophied

In terms of donating blood, I only recently found out that you’re ineligible to donate if yours taking finasteride, which I know a lot of trans guys do for hair loss. It’s because it can cause birth defects if the blood is given to pregnant people. Just a heads up for you all! :)

I think it is important to mention what hematocrit it, because it is not something you can have high levels of. It is literally a measure for what percentage of your blood consists of red blood cells, and more blood cells makes your blood thicker. But more red blood cells also obviously makes your blood better at transporting oxygen, hence the cardiovascular performance improvement on testosterone. Apparently all men have more red blood cells than is good for then, and women don't. In men donating blood decreases cardiovascular risk, in women it does not.

Good points.

I assumed that when many raised their hands it was not in reference to blood clots. It was most likely in reference to having a ‘Complete Blood Count’ where at one, or more times, their Hemocrit level was reported as being a bit above the normal threshold that is expected for biological men. According to my Kaiser standards that is a level above 51%. When I was on supplemental testosterone I exceeded that on a few occasions but never experienced any blood clots. It is good practice to keep below the threshold. The hematocrit (Ht or HCT) is the volume is percentage (vol%) of red blood cells (RBCs) in blood. It can be determined after a blood sample is centrifuged to concentrate the red blood cells at the bottom of a blood sample tube. The depth of that layer is then measured. It is best practice to get a Complete Blood Count at least once each year while on T.

@vernonbrechin4207 Indeed, I have always seen 0.5 as a limit, if you are a professional cyclist your are also not allowed to be above 0.5 I believe. Also keep in mind that the blood counts if many trans men are put against female standards by many providers, and then they start to be worried around 0.45, a value that is impossible to stay under for many people having male levels of testosterone.
@vernonbrechin42072 ай бұрын
@@eeweeweew - Again you made many good points. Trying to remain under 45% when on T would be nearly impossible for most AFAB people that are trying to maintain normal genetic male levels of the hormone. The exact upper and lower cut-off thresholds may differ slightly between different medical providers.

Joint pain for no clear reason. Never heard of that one. Never had that issue either. Interesting to hear that though. Most people are getting joint pain because they are getting older. Even in your 20s it can happen if you have certain disorders, don't take care of yourself properly, or even people who played a ton of sports when they were younger.

I like seeinc your videos, thank you very much! In this video I am not sure if all of the medical informations are right. Pelvic flloor muscles are not affected at v. atrophy, but if you don't train them, they can be weak and urine incontinence is possible. With joint and tendon issues I always thought, that there is a higher impact of forces on joints and tendons, because of stronger muscles, if you have testosterone. This leads to a higher drain and stress for tendons and joints. I thought that the higher risks for thrombosis and strokes under testosterone would be caused by high cholesterine and ldl fat acids => arteriosklerosis => higher risk to get thrombs...? But I am not a specialist in this things...

Kinda some vague stuff you are tossing around. In a group (how many even in said group lol) of trans men how many aged between what an what had a clot? How many had previous history? How many were considered perfect health before even starting T? I am 41. Had no issues. At 278lbs I shoulda died from a clot years ago I am sure. While on T, my numbers have all gone down. Cholesterol. Blood pressure. etc etc. Hell I've even lost weight. I hear most people gain a lot of weight on T.

I’m not a doctor either but the joint pain doesn’t sound super plausible to me. If it was you’d likely see joint pain being a mass phenomenon amongst body builders on gear

@@joshadams1551 A quick Google search indicates to me that there is indeed something there as well.

You've essentially been smoking cigars for the last X number of years and are just NOW finding out Tabaco is bad for your health. I think the only thing that you can hope for is that one of your videos is a part of one of those compilations they're going to make about what a horrible and sad experiment this all was
