I liked that the food you picked out is simple for students but this had to have cost much more than a normal college student can spend a week. A video with a realistic grocery haul for students would be great!

It annoys me when people think that frozen veggies aren't as nutritious as fresh ones - if anything they're more so, because they haven't had to travel miles leeching goodness! Buy your frozen veggies!!

it really does depend on the veggie though. some freeze well and some don't. by the way, tinned tomatoes are more nutritious than fresh ones.

don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure that frozen veggies are more nutritious than the "fresh" ones. The frozen ones had to be picked when they were ready before being frozen. But most of the time the fresh ones are picked before they are ready so they won't rot, but this means they didn't have the time to get all the nutrients

Another tip is that buying from bulk food stores like the bulk barn or asian markets are cheaper since there's no packaging. packaging is at least 15-20% of the product so if you go in and bring your own containers/bags you save money and excess plastic!

Hope you managed to figure out something since this comment post but definitely try meal prepping! Make a huge batch of food on the weekend so all you have to do during the week is heat up your food. If not then frozen vegetable steam packs that you pop in the microwave as well as microwave rice and canned lentils are always so handy as a quick an easy meal!!

These are healthy, however I recommend shopping at a combination of places to get better deals: Trader Joes is great for produce prices and for dairy-free options, grocery outlet will have some healthier options for way cheaper, costco is okay and then deals at Safeway or QFC. These foods you could get for much cheaper at the locations above.

You can get the same things but at a cheaper grocery store, sobeys is always so expensive even there sale stuff, and also check if you local store has a student discount day (we get 10% off Tuesday and Thursdays) also lawblaws is now partnered with shoppers optimum point system so then you get points and get money out of it

Go to food basics on Tuesdays(10% off with student ID). The are the cheapest! (Compared to loblaws, sobeys and superstore). The only thing is that their food and brand selection is not as broad as in other stores, but if you are not looking for anything fancy like felix and norton cookies, you should be fine.

When I was in school I had about $10-15 to spend on groceries each week. I ate a lot of PB&J, scrambled eggs, pasta, soup and ramen. There was no fresh chicken or organic anything. One of my faves was frozen mixed veg, pasta, margarine (I couldn't afford butter) and dollar store Parmesan cheese. I could eat that every day - I still eat it but I eat a vegan version now.

Yay another Canadian who is doing grocery hauls. I noticed that you went to probably Sobeys with the compliments brand not necessarily the best store to get budget-friendly food I go there to get the sales and go to other stores to get their sales as well. I do find that Sobeys has a lot more healthier convenience type food. All Chicken in Canada has no hormones added. You end up paying more for that brand. You should spend more money if you wanted to get free rage as that's more expensive. It's hard to do organic and budget.

Then i drank a little homemade kombucha every day for a month, and it mustve improved my gut health because i can eat dairy all day now with no spots or any other symptoms like brain fog. I generally drink lactose free milk at home but not in cafes etc, and i have normal yogurt and cheeses. Hope you find the solution x

Try eliminating dairy, gluten, and sugar to rule out which one could be causing flare ups. You could have PCOS which can cause hormonal acne. Simpler tips are to take a 1,000 mg time release capsule of vitamin C daily and put manuka honey on the affected areas as a mask.

@@claudiaotulak9398 I live in the UK and I go to Aldi, a bag of kale is something like 60p. And I'm pretty sure a bag of sweet potatoes (about 6 decent sized in each) is less than £1. These prices seem extortionate. The price paid for 2 sweet potatoes, I can get a 500g punnet of berries for considerably less
