A healthy and budget what I eat in a day, with some delicious homemade family means and recipes you can make on a budget. I do my food shopping mainly at Aldi, and occasionally top up with products from Ocado. My meals tend to be homemade and healthy, not only for my physical body, but healthy to keep my mental health flowing as well as it can! Hi Sophie, Lawrence and Orin ~ sorry I haven’t been commenting lately. I’ve been in hospital again with my multiple sclerosis ~ I’ve been watching your previous vlogs And I’m really enjoying them, I love your recipe Vlogs. I also enjoyed you sorting out your fridge. The carer is sorted out mine on Thursday and found things I never knew I had - I’m going to start watching this one in a minute, but the tea trolley has just come up and the carers have just been in - have a great week, sending loads of love and loads of hugs Xxx Xxx

It’s really nice to hear you listening to your body and striking a balance - your body clearly needed some quick energy after a rough night, hence the crumpet craving! Whilst also factoring in nutritionally dense options too like the smoothie. Personally, I don’t subscribe to the rhetoric around glucose spikes etc - I think a lot of it is fear-mongering unfortunately, and overscrutinising what our bodies manage quite comfortably. It’s all about finding a balance! I’m sad to hear you feel you had a sugar addiction (again, I know this is a contested subject, with some saying it’s more the restriction of sugar / putting it on a pedestal that causes the craving cycle!), but so pleased to hear you’re not restricting sweet treats and desserts etc. Because ultimately, an unhealthy relationship with food is probably more damaging than a kitkat chunky can ever be! Sometimes, I just wish the world would chill about food for a bit - there’s so much more to life, and in my opinion, all foods fit in moderation ❤ But that’s just my two cents! Thanks for sharing :) x

Lovely vlog today. If you put fresh thyme in a jar of honey and add a spoonful in hot water its great for sore throats. Alwsys handy to have a jar of it handy when you are feeling bleugh. Also I have been using rice syrup from biona for anything sweet it takes some getting used to buy has less fructose in it and no sugar highs.

At one point in the ingredients list, for the flapjacks the mixed seeds looked like bird food. Looking forward to making this. 😋

Ahh thank you! So homemade chips, after cutting them into fries (if I cut them into chunky chips, I would usually par-boil for a little bit, no need for fries). I coat them in apple cider vinegar, and some olive oil, and a little Himalayan salt, then air fry on 200, keep checking and flipping them, top up with little bits of oil, or butter! X

Hi, any tips for getting rid of that sugar addiction? I'm really stuck with this, on the days I have nothing but natural sugars like apple or fruits I'm just craving something unhealthy so bad to the point its debilitating as I can't focus or concentrate as my brain is just constantly buzzing with what can I have, when can I have it , is there a treat coming? . I'm at a lost with it as I don't like giving in as it makes me feel rubbish but equally after a few days I find I genuinely can't function . No one believes me how bad the cravings up and they keep me up at night and even when I have something bad like some cake it no longer meets the cravings because they are so strong , I would need to eatva whole cake for them to quieten I reckon, but obviously that would be super unhealthy so I'm so depressed by it all and just want to get on with my life and healthy eating and exercising as normal but without the background noise that makes it feel like a punishment to be healthy

I wish there was another word, because I do think using "healthy" and "unhealthy" terms are really unhelpful, and make it so much harder just to make different choices. Genuinely, my homemade flapjacks slowly but surely broke that sugar addiction I have. I watched some science on it that said it takes 4 days to break that cycle, I did find after a week, the brain fog almost cleared, and I wasn't craving it anymore. It is super hard, but get those flapjacks made, have loads of bananas and other sweet fruits in the fridge ready to go, and take it day by day, just give yourself a week at a time with trying to break it, if you can do one day, you can do another. It's super hard, sugar is so so so addictive. Good luck ♥️♥️

you want a snack after the smoothie as its made you have a sugar crash. Best stick to an egg/protein based breakfast e.g. omelette with ham and cheese and maybe some veggies like red peppers and onions. It works for me ;-)

Hey, yes! Apple cider vinegar, really makes them delicious 😍 a bit of salt and a little olive oil to coat, then half way through I put a little more oil on in the air fryer so they don't burn! X
