Seriously I would starve if it wasn't for you 2! My dad is from Leeds Yorkshire and I grew up in the US, he'd always make us baked beans and toast. I just made this for my family to keep the tradition alive and it is way better with this baked beans recipe! UGH! so hearty and sweet with the onions and syrup. My dad would always put mayo on the toast so some vegan mayo did the trick. Paired this with Avant guard vegan's Chorizo sausage! My God it was so delicious. You guy's are amazing and Thank you for all you do!!!

Finally got round to making this today. It was SOOO YUM! As I said over on Insta, not the typical baked beans that brings back memories of the UK, but a marvelous side dish nonetheless, either to morning toast or brown rice or potatoes; or just a main dish all on its own with some lettuce maybe. :D Pst... FYI - followed the written recipe on your webpage and was thinking, "Strange, no maple syrup in one of the Pair's recipes?!". As the beans were missing the sweet note without it, I added some. Later I came back here, as it kept nagging me at the back of my brain, and sure enough - 3 tablespoons of maple syrup in the video! (The syrup isn't in the ingredients list, but it is mentioned in the instructions.)

Baked beans on toast was one of my favourite breakfasts growing up (Irish parents) but it was just the canned (Watties i think) but they have sugar so I’ve been avoiding them or eating the Weight Watchers ones I occasionally. Will make my own now :). I wanted to turn the flame down on your cooktop! Once the pan is heated you can turn it down. Flames lapping side like that only necessary for wok cooking. You probably burnt the garlic. It burns easily. Great job otherwise. Thanks.
