I've got almost everything on your list as well! In addition to that, I always have dried red lentils in my pantry to add to soups, stews and curries. They breakdown when they cook and thicken the liquids as well as adding tons of nutrition. Yums. :)

Loved your reactions to the maple syrup and cocoa powder. Maple syrup is not for me, so I keep locally sourced honey in my pantry instead. It does not need to be refrigerated. I also keep a few varieties of beans (including chickpeas), cans/jars of tomato-something, quinoa, almond butter, oats, cocoa and chocolate chips (yes both are staples), rice, one variety of short pasta, olive oil, avocado oil (which can be used at higher temperatures than olive oil, and a variety of vinegars. If I run out of any one of these it is put on my grocery list right away.

I always have lentils, coconut milk, tuna, chickpeas (both dried and canned), split yellow mung beans, chicken and vegetable broths (for those days when I don't want or have time to make it from scratch), nuts and seeds, buckwheat, local honey, EVOO, coconut and sesame oils, all kinds of vinegars, basmati, and lentil/chickpea pasta (I rarely eat pasta, but it's easy to throw together when I'm not in a cooking mood). I also usually have dates and dried, unsweetened or naturally sweetened cranberries. P.S. my favourite pasta shape is farfalle, but chickpea/lentil pastas don't come that way here, so I usually get the fusilli. :) Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for this wonderful video, Meghan. I only used to eat canned tuna because it smells less of sea food! 😃🙈 but I read on the Canada food safety page (government of canada website) that canned tuna has the “potential for exposure to higher levels of mercury than is considered acceptable”. What’s your take on this? 💖💖🙏🏻🙏🏻
@foreverone546
@foreverone546 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it does. I personally experienced headaches after eating tuna and then i read it was caused by mercury. (I never get headaches) So therefore, i don’t eat tuna at all. Whether its canned or frozen or fresh. There are other delicious seafood to eat besides tuna.

Yes tuna can contain mercury, specifically larger species like Albacore tuna, so it's something to be aware of. However I personally like to buy 'chunk light tuna' which is skipjack, a smaller species and has lower levels. Even still I don't eat tuna all the time, just here and there. But I do like to have it in my pantry!

Hey no one has answered u so just fyi ive had zero issues. It does have a lot of fiber so if you don’t eat much fiber just don’t eat a ton to start. 2 tablespoons and 1/2 cup of any milk makes chia pudding. I usually eat chia seeds that way and don’t eat more than that in a day. I also add yogurt sometimes. Chia pudding is great! You could always just eat half one day and half the next if you are worried its too much.
