Love the fearlessness of Teagan, she's gonna be a great piece.

Addie was a dawg man! She has really arrived. I think coach Jen is a great coach, developing post players like Hannah and Addie who have vastly improved since last season. More power Hawks😅🎉❤

For two seasons I've been hoping Addie would improve her scoring. The wait is over!

Addi is ready for her time to shine. It’s obvious she’s put the work in. The team is exciting with many players able to step up when needed.

No doubt, Addi has put in work. And, I'm not going to dwell on this but, I don't think I'm the only one who saw some of the psychologically crushing interactions between Addi and a former player. For whatever reason, that relationship was never mutually supportive and I think that took a toll on Addi. Good for her for hanging in there. I couldn't be happier for her. Still work to do, but Addi has potential to be a dominating post player.

The depth the freshmen are providing is so fun. Can’t wait to see where Heiden & Mallegni are, particularly, by midseason. Both are gonna be scary good. 😤

I love what I've seen so far of this year's version of the Hawkeyes! Great team chemistry, great defense, returning players bringing the thunder, great newcomers adding a fantastic spark! Addie, i LOVE what you've brought to the court so far this year! Your shorting had been phenomenal! Teagan, I'm excited by what I've seen of your so far! Thanks for choosing Iowa!

Loved Addie's comment, "They don't play like freshmen." The lady Hawks are cohesive for a young team, and this will only increase as the season progresses. Go, Hawks!

It cannot be overstated what a massive pickup Lucy was. I'm not sure Iowa makes the tourney without her, she's that good and important to this team.

Good game, ladies!! Keep working hard and pulling for one another. Go Hawks!! (PS Can we put an end to fadeaway layups? Everyone should attack the basket...directly, with floaters, hook shots, etc., but not fading away from the defender with an acrobatic shot when we're less than 3 feet away from the basket.) (PSS GO HAWKS!!!!!)

Ms. O'Grady is going to play her way into a high WNBA draft pick if she's not careful.
@mrsmadpad6 күн бұрын
She isn’t a back to the basket post player. She needs to be more aggressive down there. Too many times she passed the ball back out, without even attempting a move.
@steelesm5 күн бұрын
Iowa exploited a mismatch against an undersized, unathletic team and kudos to Addison and Iowa for doing it. But they won't be able to do this against bigger, better competition in the B10 and Addison isn't close to athletic enough to play in the WNBA. Monica was a much better player and couldn't make it.

@@mrsmadpad We can agree to disagree, although I agree that Addi has more work to do. But, for the beginning of her campaign as a starter, she is doing fantastically well. What makes me smile the most with Addi is when she uses her body to overpower opponents. She is becoming proficient with using her body. As for post moves, I would MUCH RATHER see a pass back out to the wing, followed by re-posting, then another post entry pass. By contrast, we have another big who goes to the basket with "moves" but often throws up an off-balance fadeaway that misses badly (Not as bad as Angel Reese, but just as maddening.) Everyone has room to improve, and our young ladies are working hard. Next up: Kansas. Go Hawks!!
@richardhayman48685 күн бұрын
@@steelesm Isn't this team fun??!? I agree, the going is going to get tougher. Not a fair comparison to Monica, though. Addi has the body of a dominating post player and she is getting better at using her body to her advantage. And, another thing Addi has going for her is that she isn't relying on ball handling or post moves. She is doing her work before she receives the ball. There is a reason she ends up with so many ducks at the basket, and it's not because the other team is not trying to stop her.
@steelesm5 күн бұрын
@@richardhayman4868 yes this team is better than expected but I'm cautiously optimistic because they haven't played a Top 25 team yet. Lucy is one of the top PGs in the country and IMO is the primary reason Iowa may be able to compete for the B10 title, picking her up was HUGE. I'm not throwing shade at Addison, but I just don't see how she'd be able to compete inside against the likes of Aliyah Boston or even the vastly overrated Angel Reese.
