So great to have a quality kit being offered by you guys. For the record, Jim Marshall didn't design any of the circuits of his amps as he had no EE background. The guys behind the electronics were Dudley Craven and Ken Bran. Ken Underwood took part in the building of the initial batch of amps supplied to Jim Marshall, and is the only one of them alive today to tell the story of how Marshall amps got first started. Look him up. Cheers.

JTM45 was a Fender Bassman copy. The first ones they built used 5881 power tubes. Shortly after they switched to KT66's which basically sound the same as 6L6 power tubes (which were hard to get in Britain). And Leo got the circuits from the RCA tube manuals of the time, almost all the amp builders got their circuits from that as well.

I've never understood why people insist on only using the neck pickup on a two humbucker equipped guitar, especially with the tone rolled all the way off so they get this muffled and bass-heavy tone, when they could get a much better tone with the bridge pickup.

The Marshall JTM45 is actually based on Fender's original 4X10 Tweed Bassman amp, Jim Marshall asked Ken Bran and Dudley Craven to design a new amplifier based on the Tweed Bassman, that would produce a sound that some guitarists who frequented Jim Marshall's shop, were talking about, the result was the original JTM45 amps from 1962.

No they don't, its about 1% of the speed of light freely moving, but along the length of a conductor it is measured in "drift speed" which is only a few meters per second.

The only thing that moves at the speed of light in a vacuum is the speed of light. The speed of light is also the only thing I am aware of that has an inherent speed. Electron speeds are a product of the energy they recieve. Theoretically it can be 0m/s, it can be as slow as a few meters/s.

Some changed values in caps in the preamp but it has a resister and cap as the first components in the phase inverter. clapton had the cap removed from circuit in the phase inverter that gave him the woman tone he was looking for. But the real difference came from the european tubes el34,s???and celestion speakers . That made it a different animal. But a basically direct copy.
