Anybody here with palpitations want to be friends? I’ve been suffering for a couple months now worn a holter monitor multiple ER visits and told everything was fine. I am trying to my best but I am so tired of the mental battle every day. Literally holding back tears typing this. It is so much to deal with I feel like I don’t even have a normal life anymore.

i’ve been clear of health anxiety for exactly a year, and it’s nice seeing pop ups from this channel because it shows me how far i’ve come; and i have to thank you so much for it. back to sprinting and spending hours in the gym, back to spending time sleeping and not hearing my heartbeat vibrate throughout my entire body, back to going out and enjoying and living life instead of spending it indoors worrying when i’m going to die.

@@lukejwoolley stop smoking, start eating right, start exercising, stop drinking alcohol, stop surrounding yourself with people who don’t care about you, attend CBT and DBT therapy and actually PRACTICE what you learn in your sessions, listen to doctors and don’t try to get a second answer from dr google, and realize it’s all in your head. whenever i had symptoms i would always tell myself “guess i’ll just die then” and then keep doing whatever made my symptoms worse. was nerve wracking at first, until you realize you’re fine and nothings gonna happen LOL. i’m in the gym, heart starts pounding, “damn, guess i’ll just have a heart attack then” and continue exercising. hundreds of those palpitation events later, and a cardiologist visit and stress test later, I’m perfectly healthy, nothing ever happened, only to hear my doctor say i have one of the strongest healthiest hearts he’s ever heard.

When he said “ I don’t care”, it weirdly gave me a boost of courage. Sometimes we need the tough love approach from someone external, to shake up that inner child and remind yourself that we have to take responsibility of our own recovery, which needs COURAGE.

I’ve gone to Urgent care and the hospital but so far my tests hav come back normal and I was diagnosed with Anxiety disorder years back. This whole time I’ve been terrified that I’m goin to die from this but u guys prove that’s not the case, u can live normal healthy life and still hav palpitations it’s all about learning to deal with the psychological effects. So I wanna thank you ALL of u it takes bravery facing any medical issue but even more to reach back and help others while suffering yrself 💯👏🏾👏🏾

I feel for everyone here. Ive been dealing with palpitations here recently. I have a pretty long history of panic and stress disorders. They all stemmed from chronic insomnia which they also testified to stress. Its a crippling battle when your mind red flags everything. Mine is also seasonal. Going from fall to winter. Then I adjust. Then coming out of winter into spring. Its so bizarre. I dont know if its barometric or the planets alignment. Wish I was joking. Im going on 50 and have been hyper active since I was a kid. My body and mind cant deal with these things very easily anymore. Some history of drugs and alcohol. Ive tried may meds which only bring up other problems. Being a hypochondriac is scary in itself. Try to enjoy everyday and focus on the moment. Especially the good ones. Prayers to all that suffer from these issues. They are no joke. Thanks for the channel.

Therapy is an amazing thing. I suffer with this and it's become a very recent thing due to the healing process taking an unfortunate break. Even as I type this message I can feel it. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is exactly what you need and do not be afraid to be picky with your therapist cause sometimes one will be far better for you than another and that's okay. I was told recently that due to the fact that I had been making progress and getting better that my mind was creating a sort of counter weight and with that whenever I feel elated or happy I instantly get palpitations or a sort of reversal that brings my mind back down to where it feels comfortable with being sad or having a low mood where no real emotion is taking place. It is basically a chemical imbalance where your brain is hypersensitive to certain things and I can tell you now the only way to break through it and get over your brains imbalance is to keep pushing that capacity to be happy, no matter how bad it might make you feel if you can keep pushing take it one day at a time and surround yourself in a good environment you can sort that part of your brain out and eventually after a bit of effort you'll notice how that chemical imbalance has effected you so and that it now is stable. It will take awhile and your body and mind will fight you to the point of exhaustion, but recognise the logic behind how you are feeling, see the science of it and look past how it feels to instead question it and then continue pushing on. Cause even though it might take time each and every day you submit yourself to a correction of your minds chemicals in a scenario that is social and comfortable. I'd suggest finding a local community that you can join, cause that is another thing CBT on its own does not help without you putting what you've learned into action, if you just take the therapy and do nothing afterwards then you will continue to stay where you are and the process might just take far too long or be too taxing to the point that you stop your therapy all together.

I refrained from exercising and took off my Fitbit when going through an especially difficult bout of stress. I didn't like the feel of my heart rate going up or seeing the numbers on my watch. I can intellectualize the "crazy" in this however I allowed myself to do it. I have since started exercise again as it is hugely beneficial to all healing and after listening to this podcast am going to put on that Fitbit again. Thank you as always 💞🍃

I have history of panic attacks and anxiety which exacerbated palpitations since 2020. Pretty much under control now with medication and tactics. However i still get the occasional fits of anxiety followed by the palpitations which leads to thoughts of questioning your well being. Just tonight I woke up with symptoms. How strange i thought. Went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of cold water. After breathing in and out i began to control my heart palpitations and the hydration put my body at ease. A friendly reminder to breathe properly and hydrate - could be all you need!

Trully helpful. I have been dealing with heart palpitations for moat of my adult life, since around my 30s, it took me a few years to figure out exactly this - it is just pure anxiety. It won't kill you. Instead of being concerned about it, I have started to say thank you, and move on. Also meditation and focused deep breaths helped a lot to take my attention out of these bodly symptoms, and start to enjoy the world at a deepest level.

It's gotten so bad for me that I'm scared of going to sleep. I wake up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding and empty feeling in my chest. Then the palpitations come and go throughout the day. I went to the doctor a few days ago and had some blood work and ECG done, my BP and cholesterol was high, so the doctor gave some meds, ECG was fine other than rapid heartbeat. For the past few years I've been having a hard time, just life in general, but this year in particular has been rough with the loss of a cousin and weeks later an aunt. I'm also unemployed and been running all kinds of bad scenarios on my mind so I think all of this stuff is catching up to me. I hope I can get rid of all this and videos like this one help out a lot, thank you.

What a very inspirational video! I have been having severe anxiety for anumber of years now and more recently,I have been hving severe palpitations, heart fluttering which is terrifying! I read about magnesium and seemably palpitations are symptomatic of deficiency and all the symptoms you described can be a result of this. I have taken suppliments for a week now and many of the symptoms have abated. It seems reasonable something like a mineral or vitamin deficiency can severely exacerbate panic and anxiety feelings due to low electrolyte levels thus poor conduction, hence the heart palpitations. I tell you this as it has been of great benefit to me albeit I still from time to time feel afraid and scared what is happening to my body. It is a terrible thing to be afraid of your own body!

Bro, what a good video, I got to write some comments. Your video makes me think of many chronic musculoskeletal pain patients with no severe pathology. It's really a similar mechanism as the heart palpitation. The oversensitive neurosystem grabs information (even some associations and beliefs produced ny the conscious mind, and off course the information about the real body tissue), the subconcious mind then conclude there is danger in your body(eg in the knee), then produce the protective outputs (including pain sensation at the concious level, muscle tension and other). So some believes and association also plays a part. So for chronic pain patients they really need to deassociate pain and tissue damage. A model called the protectometer really helps with the chronic pain patients, I think it also can be applied to heart palpitation populations. Great explanation, Love your contents!

I've struggled all my life with anxiety. I remember even sitting in junior high and feeling my pulse. I was told long ago I had a slight heart murmer, and I have always had sort of flutters off and on, sometimes a hard beat at the end, and yes, it makes me anxious. I have tried to drink decaf tea due to this, and I hate decaf tea. It tastes like nothing. So, I drink my regular tea, and yes, I get the flutters, but I am trying to reason they won't hurt me. I don't get short of breath, or dizzy, never had chest pain, it is just often when I am sitting and too focused on my body. I am 65, so I guess it's worse now due to my fears for my mortality. And I have been under a lot of stress due to money problems, and that makes everything worse.

I get so many heart palpitations in my sleep, i wake up suddenly with a super high heart rate. Its so scary. After I got covid in January, I keep waking up with panic attacks and palpitations. I have CFS but after covid all my symptoms have become amplified. I dont know what covid did to my body, but its caused me such bad anxiety daily. Its literally hell.

Sometimes stress can cause this but most times it occurs due to a drop of blood sugar while sleeping causing an adrenaline surge. Not always but it's 1 of the causes. Your stress hormones kick in and causes that to raise your sugar. Your body is only trying to save you and keep you alive. So it's a good thing it's doing that. Glucose(sugar) & sodium (salt) taken together helps bring down the stress hormones. Maybe your eating dinner too far from sleeping or not eating protein/fat with carbs to slow down the glucose release causing a quick drop while sleeping. Have a snack before sleep with protein/fat and carb(sugar) & salt. A simple quick thing can be a spoonful of grassfed butter with raw honey and sprinkle salt. Or a real snack like nuts and cheese with a fruit. You can also drink a sip of orange juice with salt. (Redmond or celtic). Keep it by your side when you sleep and when you wake up, take a sip. Goodluck❤

I honestly feel ready to eat a bullet. I just want to be free of this, but its a vicious cycle. Heart palpitations have literally destroyed my quality of life. They put me on Buspar 3x a day, and diazapam only when full blown panic strikes. Nothing helps. 2 yrs ago i was attending kickboxing and working out regularly. Palpitations have me so freaked out i no longer exercise, and I'm miserable.

I was doing alot of chores around the house and went to carry my daughter to bed and my heartbstarts skipping over and over for about 5-10 mins. It was beating super hard and fast. When I sat down to check my blood pressure the left arm was 126/76 Pulse 91 then the right arm about 2 mins later it was 124/72 Pulse 86. I'm 5'10 150 lbs. I tried to cough and even do the hold breath vagus nerve trick and my heart skipping and fast beating. It was super scary. I started breathing deep it stopped. For those 5-15 mins from start to finish I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Can anyone please provide feedback? If I'm feeling OK after the palpitation episode is that a good sign? I'm so scared. Just a FYI I had drunk some iced tea and ate some fried chicken a few hours before this. Please help?!

How about feeling of skip beats? I tried to understand that it is nothing serious as an EP told me its benign and no need to treat. But the annoying sensation of pounding, nervousness and panic fear of dying, its hard to handle until i pop a betablocker. I always think i can take the amygdala out, turn it into a person and just square off beat it til it submits. What a useless gland.

I get these as well. I’ve noticed I get the skipped beats more since Covid started (high anxiety). It typically happens when I get a rush of anxiety very quickly (I’m guessing it’s the adrenaline).

Today has been a great day. I’m on the road to recovery. My main symptom is heart palpitations amongst other symptoms. Today the heart palpitations have been very minimal and as I’m sitting enjoying the positive, my mind starts to run with “maybe my heart is failing”.. “maybe I can’t feel it because it’s getting weak or not getting enough blood” 😭😭 very frustrating that my body can’t enjoy the peace. Is this normal??

Do you live with daily palpitations?? Cus I do even tho all test came out normal...it's of and on during the day..but once I'm relaxed and free then boom my mind says oh your heart is not palpitating anymore then it starts all over again ..or when I think about something negative then my heart shoots up and very loud and visible that people even see my heart beating through my chest ..it has become a norm for me for about 8 months..I'm done taking propranolol and lexatonil..like I don't want to be dependent..I just want to be normal without negative or scary thought crossing my mind
