Oh gee. I’m 68 and suffered with severe palpitations for several years through menopause. Ended up in ER several times and they detected trigeminal ectopic beats (losing every 3 heartbeat). Sent to a cardiologist who said all heart, bloods and arteries were great. He gave me beta blockers which did nothing and then tried calcium blockers which did have some positive impact but eventually the benefits ceased. I was having thousands of ectopic beats per day - totally debilitating, interfered with everything I did and kept me in a state of anxiety so that I developed panic attacks. I finally got onto a herbal m,edication that seemed to work, but by then I hit menopause (55 years old) and they seemed to ease right away. I was told by an ER doctor that I could be very sensitive to caffeine and suggested I drink decaf tea (I don’t drink coffee) and quit chocolate. That seemed to help tremendously. Going to ER was a nightmare, Once they determined there was “nothing wrong” they sent me home and said just have to deal with it.

@@cj5056 I’m Australian. It was a product sold here called Harmony. I see they now have a Harmony Plus product for worse symptoms. If I missed a dose, the palpitations came back, so I kept taking it. Didn’t completely go away until I got through menopause. Good luck.

@@gopidiakshitha7503 I’m sorry you are going through this and it does affect you physically and emotionally … you cant live a normal life. For me it slowly built over the years to its most severe when I was in my 50s. For about 3 years I put up with the worst of them and it was another couple of years before they eased off to the point I didn’t get them again until about 2 years ago when I had a bad episode that took me to hospital. The recommendation was that I try decreasing caffeine. I don’t drink coffee but tea has high levels and I was having about 7 cups of tea a day. I went decaffeinated and that helped a lot so I’m back to “normal” again. Your medical situation seems very different to mine, and for a young woman, this is awful to go through. During the worst of it, I did turn to a herbal preparation for menopause sold in Australia and that definitely helped, so that’s why I think it was menopause related. I wish you the very best.

Thank you Felice! I have struggled explaining why HRT is not a heart risk, and this encapsulates it so eloquently. You're a treasure!

OMG! I'm 72, and wish my doctors had had a clue that peri-menopause was causing my heart palpitations (which were always coupled with hot flashes at the same time) back when I was going through my change of life! Just knowing I was fine and not going crazy would've gone a long way in assuaging my fears! But instead, since they had no answers, I demanded a stress test for my heart, which the cardiologist reluctantly (angrily) did, and my heart was fine! No one suggested estrogen, but no surprise, the hot flashes and tachycardia completely disappeared when I was about 56, and through menopause. (EKG and echocardiogram I had about a year ago showed everything normal. No estrogen needed, as my bone mass is normal, too.). But the anxiety of not knowing why I was having the tachycardia symptoms was frightening!!

I am facing them since i was 29 years old. It was because of anxiety panic attacks and all. But now after perimenupause and now in menupause it has aggravated. Anxious go sky high. I am not living my life since 30 years and now its bad even more.

What a fabulous explanation of the function of estradiol and irregular heart rate (I was diagnosed with Afib 6 months ago(). My Echo showed a perfectly normal heart - no mitral prolapse. I am 67 and took progesterone 20 years ago, after testing low... I am going to re-test my hormones again and supplement (I'm sure that I need it) to remedy my Afib - THANK YOU!

Do you know why estrogen replacement ( 1mg) would cause high blood pressure? Also used along with 200 mg of progesterone..

I think 1mg for 200 mg is not a good proposition. You might need 2 mg of estradiol then .

I’m on hrt to get help with palpitations however the initial side effects of the patch plus progesterone are making it incredibly challenging to continue: increased anxiety, increased headaches, strange pressure/sensation with my eyes. Any tips

@@jlcarmya2z I stopped the patch and progesterone and have only been on testosterone gel for a little over a week now. I feel that the anxiety is at the level it was before starting HRT (some days good, some so so). It’s so frustrating trialing and waiting and not feeling like I’m getting anywhere. However, I will say that I started taking magnesium oxide at nighttime (and I also take two magnesium l theronate in the morning) and I know it’s only been a few weeks, but I think the palpitations have been less so far 🙏🏻

I was on the same dosage of bio-identical hormones. They did nothing for my heart palpitations. I had them all the time. I was taken off of them due to a breast cancer diagnosis. I started taking Vitamin D3 with K2 a year ago and I barely have them at all now. I just wonder if that helped, or they just stopped on their own. I can say that the hormones did nothing for the condition. They sure made me feel more energetic though. I really miss that energy I got from hormones.

I too leaned on supplements to help so I didn’t have to stop HRT. I was feeling like my electrolytes were off as well. Magnesium powder in water drank nightly before bed and palps are gone for me.

Come to think of it, I had these palpitations all the time. I started taking Vitamin K2 M7 with my Vitamin D3 about a year ago. Little by little, these palpitations have really reduced. I was sent to two Cardiologists for those stupid things because I had abnormal EKG's prior to surgeries. One told me I was fine and this was just something they saw in women of my age and the other told me I had excavatum Pectorus. Not one doctor has ever mentioned that to me. Nobody ever said anything about hormones. I was actually on hormones when I saw the first cardiologist. Hormones did nothing for my palpitations. Now I rarely have them. ( I was on bio-identical hormones btw)

@@tonyawhitten5199 Interesting., Think the Vitamin K2 M7 with Soy. Does not agree with everyone Plus, IT’s possibly Thyroid levels and Cardiac Specific. .. ( including minerals.. . D3 and Vitamin C absorption! ( and most importantly All Vitamin B’s in Balance)
