I'm not one for horror, but Our Wicked Histories and The Botanical Daughter intrigue me the most on this list. Happy reading.

YES I would say those two sounds very interesting, and especially for me I have to say The Botanical Daughter really catches my eye!!! I hope you are having a lovely April reading so far!! 💯🙌

We have the same thing about wanting books to get to the point!! Honestly, for me there's very little reason why a book should be over 250 pages. I truly feel that, especially for newer authors, they need to work under a shorter page count to trim down their story.

Ooooh! I’m so here for this! Love horror books and films. I’m super excited to hear about these!!❤

also i streamed Lisa Frankenstein and I adored it felt like a combination of Edward Scissorhands and Heathers Diablo cody did a great job mixing colors to make a scene

OHHH the idea of a combination of Edward Scissorhands and Heathers sounds like the COOLEST mashup ever! I cannot wait to watch Lisa Frankenstein!!!

Graveyard Shift is another one I’d like to check out. But I agree… the fact that’s it’s a novella will definitely make me wanting more!!
@mikalas_nook9 ай бұрын
1000% I can already see myself wanting the Graveyard Shift to be like twice as long hahah and im even usually a person who dislikes long books and ALWAYS says I wish that book was shorter, so thats saying something hahah!!!
@Lenaandthepages9 ай бұрын
Haha, I love that you left it in there when you were like ‘okay change of plans’ - so funny, and so accurate. Taking notes on some of these because a lot of them I haven’t heard about yet!😊
@mikalas_nook9 ай бұрын
HAHHA Thank you so much Lena!!! I was going to cut it out at first and then I thought well maybe let's leave it in for authenticity sake haha!!! I am so glad as well I was able to expose some of these titles that you had not heard of yet! There's so many exciting sounding releases this year!!! 💖💯

Mother Knows Best sounds great! I haven’t read a short story collection in a long time. I’m super intrigued by that one!

YESSS omg I am SO intrigued by this collection! I LOVED the 2023 horror film Evil Dead Rise and this collection just reminds me of that movie with the creepy mother aspect! I can't wait to check it out!!!

I'm actually very intrigued about that Night Owls book, even though I barely read YA anymore, LOL! But there really are so many books I'm excited about this year! Some at the top of my list are: Snowblooded by Emma Sterner-Radley (comped as The Princess Bride meets Six of Crows??) Evocation by S.T. Gibson (which is tagged as urban, gothic, SFF and has an excellent cover) A Reason to See You Again by Jami Attenberg Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy

Graveyard shift could be the perfect books, love shorter books. But like you said, you might wish it was 20 pages longer. Will I buy the second it h or the selves no matter what though? Absolutely 😂 Just started A Botanical Daughter, and so far I’m really enjoying it 🌱
@mikalas_nook9 ай бұрын
@Katiedora122 Ohh Please let me know if you do get to check out Night Owls!!! That cover is truly beautiful so it really caught my eye right away! I thought when I saved it it was more of a mystery horror, so if you read it and think it is worth the read I would love to know!!! Ohhh thank you for sharing your anticipated list as well, the only one I knew of was Evocation by S.T. Gibson,, so I am checking out the rest and adding them to my list!!! 💯💯💯

@dittebrouer2855 I do LOVE shorter books as well, so I can't believe I found myself complaining about a book being too short hahaha because I feel like I am always talking about books being too long! So I definitely am going to have to read Graveyard shift when it comes out, I can't wait!!! AHHHHHHH I am SO excited to read A Botanical Daughter, I have been checking my library every day to see if they have acquired the audiobook, so far not yet but if not I will request them to buy it eventually! I would LOVE to know when you finish it what your thoughts are!!!🙌💖👏

Haha! I love how the first book was about the mystery of where she was taking her 40,000 steps, and I'm just sitting here thinking, "Gross. I'd go back to bed sweaty." Oooh! Mother Knows Best sounds interesting! 5:55 - The cheek smush! 😂😱 The Frankenstein vibes! I hope that of all of them, this one's a hit. 6:42 - 🤣 To be honest, I would've checked out this book for its cover but would've had the same reaction. Looking forward to hearing about these books later!

HAHHA OMG I didn't even think of that with the steps but thats SO true, Omg that alone would wake me up or like keep me from staying asleep hahah!!! I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on The Botanical Daughter! I think after I read all the Frankenstein retellings last year it sparked a life-long obsession with anything Frankenstein related haha!! YES that was what first hooked me with that Nightowls book was that gorgrous cover...I only later realized it was marketed as a YA Romance eeeek! hahha! 🙅♀️🚫

So I was thinking about video content that I have not yet seen on youtube, and I thought it might be interesting if you could somehow incorporate Goodreads giveaways into a video, like "What are the best thrillers in Goodreads giveaways this month?" And if you are someone who signs up for them one could be "What Goodreads Giveaways Am I Signing Up For?" Or, "Browse Goodreads Giveaways With Me". I don't know, I was just thinking about that today ☺️ Oooh The Night Guest sounds awesome! I love a short book!
@mikalas_nook9 ай бұрын
O M G I absolutely LOVE this video idea!!!!!!!! and you're right I have not seen anyone do this kind of concept! I am brainstorming now I think this could make a reallllly fun video or series, I only sparingly have actually signed up for the Goodreads giveaways only because I havent ever won, but also of course I don't ever win because I don't sign up hahah! SO maybe I could also incorporate in something like, signing up for all the goodreads giveaways of new releases I am most interested in, and do an update if I won any of them!

@@mikalas_nook its definitely not like a thriller, its a slower pace but I think the characterization is interesting and ML Rio's writing is wonderfully descriptive

also are you going to read listen for the lie and or the fury
