Mr Klugh serenaded his way into my life in 1981 in the city of Accra, Ghana by a very dear friend. She gave me the LP and I made a copy onto a cassette tape and played it so much the poor tape got thin and almost bare. I loved it so much when I made it to the States, it was the first record I bought. 0ver 40years and it never gets old and I never get tired of it. Had the opportunity to see him live in concert at the Park West theater in Chicago. Thanks Earl.

Earl is a special talent! I had his music (cassettes) back in the 70's when I was in the Navy! He is even more awesome right now! God blessed us with this special musician!

In a town called ileoluji, Ondo State, Nigeria, my older brother brought home Earl Klugh music in the 80s and played it in his room. When I listened to it, I fell helplessly in love with it and I’m yet to recover. Heart Strings is one song that brings tears to my eyes each time I listened to it. Why? I cannot really tell. It connects to the soul and take you on a journey to the spirit realm of music. It’s difficult to get to that realm and not get emotional. Love you Earl. Your music came to Africa about 30 years ago and touched me in a special way. What you do with the guitar is special and because of you, I still plan to learn to play the guitar in my lifetime.

Happy Birthday on September 16. Way back in 1979, Heart String was the very first Earl Klugh song that I've heard and wow! Fell in love with it.

Brings me back, way back :'( I'm pretty sure he was at Montreux Jazz Festival when I happened to be there many, many years ago. Loved him then, love him still. Extraordinary musician.

My ex brother in law was a contemporary jazz DJ in San Antonio in the 70’s. Still is today. Mostly a rocker, I appreciated the sound, and asked him to recommend me some LPs around 1980. He said, for starters, check out Jean Luc Ponty’s A Taste for Passion, Pat Metheny’s American Garage, George Benson’s Give me the Night, Al Jarreau’s This Time, a couple others and this album. This music changed my life. Earl Klugh’s Heart String definitely holds a special place in my heart. Thanks EK for the beautiful songs and the memories that go with them.

One of the very best jazz guitar the whole world over that's why 44 years later I'm writing a book on this song. That's how beautiful his artwork has been areanged and finally produced and recorded as a timeless masterpiece.

I have been an Earl Klugh fan since the late '70s and I had the pleasure of meeting him personally after a performance at Mississippi State University in 2008. I nearly cried when he played this masterpiece "Heartstring". This song will always be a classic to me

The first time I heard this song was on a late night radio station in Miami. WEDR Miami...I used to work nights and got off work at 11...I'd listen to this station on the radio...Sometimes the signal would go in an out, depending on the cloud cover...This was the song I remember listening to..."Heart String." Love this love this.
