I love every Elvis era...but there was a rawness and a palpable "danger" to these early performances (given the society at the time), that create a kind of edge-of-the-seat excitement that did not exist in his later years. Watching this vid, I get the feeling that if not for the almost unbelievable charisma and appeal of the man...the audience may have turned him. There will never be another like him.
