I’m back! I hope my story can serve as some inspiration to you if you’re nervous about going out bikepacking by yourself. My advice 👇 👇 👇 Don’t underestimate the power of adventure in bettering your life. Get out and there and try it! Stay local at first and branch out from there! All the best :)

Hi my guy, The KZbin algorithm brought me your way because I like cycling content, I suppose. But your story left me listening. And reflecting. I'm 31. I've been with my other half since 14. We spent a year as a long distance, and I believed our relationship would end in the way you describe. It didn't. She came back and we went into live a decade together. And then out of nowhere last year - she was diagnosed with a very serious cancer. It's a very different heartbreak, and I don't make direct comparison between our stories. But the heartbreak, future being an known blur, loneliness against the world and sitting around knowing your current situation isn't tenable but you cannot find the motivation to change things. Honestly, your video left me crying. My bike is at the bike shop, I made the decision last week that I need adventure and a goal. Your video couldn't have come at a better time. I lost all motivation today. Everything I felt last week about rebuilding a sense of myself vanished. Just zero to give. But your video came at the low moment - and reminded me that I need to pick myself up again. So a long winded message - TL;DR thank you.

Hello Tom and what an entrance back onto KZbin! That was a very poignant and heartfelt story and it must have taken a lot of time to decide to share this with us. Good to see you back and looking forward to your next adventure!

Takes some courage to tell that story, but look where you are today with a beautiful family and how far you have cycled following your dreams. So very happy for you and good to see you on KZbin again. Your short films are always so beautiful ❤️ x

Malham Cove brings back so many memories of adventure spending time climbing on the cove and wild camping etc. That was forty years ago. So glad to have done it and it’s so important to do these things as life is shorter than you think!

Great video! When life settles down it's good to remember where we came from and why we traveled a lot and that's how the day will come when you upload a video of your experiences as a father and even as a grandfather. And the main thing is that you do good for your family. God bless you

Started biking after my last dog died and daughter moved. Already have lost family members. I needed to escape anxiety. Helped but frustrated me also. Never bike packed probably never will. Finally finding a balance between some biking, some Ebiking. Indoor biking and going to gym .

My advice is to get married to the next girl to make the commitment permanent. Lack of commitment is a root cause of these troubles but kudos to you for telling it.
