My wife was blown away at their concert in October. She saw Sully playing guitar, and then the drums, and then the piano! She said “ he’s a heck of an entertainer “ ! I said that’s why we’re here , babe. Great fucking show , I love Shannon’s drumming style also,,, arms flying everywhere 😂🤘

I dedicate this song to my boyfriend that passed away from heart failure in May of 2017 and his sister that took her life in early 2019. He was the love of my life and after he passed away, his sister and I became best friends. I never knew that level of hurt before. Some days feels like it all happened yesterday and others feel like a lifetime ago. The hurt is still constant but all I can do is take it one day at a time. I know they wouldn't want me to give up and that's the only reason I haven't.

I started dating a wonderful lady about 7 months ago. Both in our mid-50s (no one at our age has an uncomplicated relationship), we have more than our share of scars, physical and otherwise that shape us, that we each have to pick our way around. I heard this song shortly after we started dating and it fits us so well.

One of my favorite songs EVER! I've seen Godsmack a few times live and they are just talented as hell. This is why I love rock & metal. It can find places in you that you didn't know were there, or it can make you feel like a part of something bigger. You are never alone in this genre. Much love! 🤘💜🤘

I was blown away by Sully and this collection. I love all music but especially hard rock, metal, and I love metal ballads that are dark, ominous, -about tragedy ,heartbreak . One of the things I can’t stand in comment sections, when people try to explain what the song means. Like sound of silence. Anyway, that’s the great thing about music. It’s a unique meaning to each of us. This song he’s referring to a lover . For me it’s my baby girl. She’s 6. Even the lyrics work except a few. But to be able to tuck her in , her breathe on me . Just hold her. She’s the only thing in my life that love is unconditional. She was taken out of my life and I haven’t seen her in over a year. The pain she is going through, wondering why daddy doesn’t love her. I picture her crying herself to sleep. Another song that has much meaning is through the ghost by shine down. 2018There was a head on crash and I held the lady drivers head in my hands waiting on medics. She died and have severe ptsd as a result. Even the girl in the video looks a little like her. I know it’s about Brent’s addiction but to me it’s her I can’t recall a time that we have amazing talent, working to help others, they all appear to be good guys. They get it. Sully, Brent Smith, Draiman. U guys rock every way possible

Sully is super talented. Much respect. And best wishes to Teresa. I was bullied as well. It's definitely not okay but, if there is a brightside, I turned out a much better man because of it. I'm nothing but kind to everybody I meet because it costs nothing and you never know what kind of day someone is having. It was a product of that and being raised right by my Parents. Props to them as well.

I agree with you. I hate that I was bullied but I learned a lot about people as well as how to handle certain situations and stand up for myself. Those are definitely traits you can pass on to your children. Thank you for your comment.

Godsmack has always had 1 or 2 songs an album that was "anthem style" but more than that, if you actually listen to their lyrics they have always been the band for the "misfits". Their songs have always been for the ears of the "lost and struggling". I am about the same age as Sully, maybe a bit younger, Its been nice to "grow up with Godsmack" and honestly, I'm sure after years of Sullys fans telling him "I wouldn't be here without your music" that The Sacrs Foundation was bound to happen.
@mikewood85612 жыл бұрын
Hope you ate ok Theresa!! I love your take on this song. Yes, it's a startling thing at the beginning. Definitely not something you'd expect from Godsmack but Sully is a hell of a musician and lyricist. Anyway, thank you for your words of encouragement. Some of us feel like we are never loved truly by those around us even though they say it. It's like they have to say it or love us because we're related. They don't really mean it. I've been crushed by women I've truly loved with my soul over the years and had a cruel childhood so I turned to alcohol and drugs. I've since been sober 8 years but those demons are still here. I just replaced using with work. I'm a workaholic. I feel unloved, hate myself, and I don't take anytime for me. I broke a front tooth off 2 months ago and still haven't called a dentist. I need help but don't even reach out or ask. I put on a positive happy front while I'm crying and hurt and dying on the inside. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Most of Sully's writing are about real life and experiences. Even in the "heavy music". At one point he said he couldn't write songs unless he was pissed off about something then could write about that person or situation. So heavy or not all their songs have a personal meaning from one member of the band.

to me this song was something... idk, from a musician stand point (playing guitar and drums) it was generic. but I think it worked really well with the lyrical side... and to me I think he was speaking of that disconnect we all feel from our creator, or who put us here... and did it in such a way it could be about anybody. the lyrics is what struck a chord with me, on a couple different levels, and I think that's hard to do when writing. and the music sounded good enough to support them, the solo was nice. he's singing some deep stuff I feel, more that we know... stars.... stardust....shooting stars ect. gj godsmack

@@scarlettjoy9561 check out Godsmacks first record, its just called godsmack with a orange sun and girl with a piercing on the front. to me it was my first introduction to them and best imo, their second album is good too. i seen them open for metallica live, and they did this drum battle thing and it was awesome. seen them once with my mom and another time with my dad lol they kicked ass both times, but that was when their material was their first two albums. so im glad i didnt have to sit through them playing this live lol first two albums are badass. get em and listen to them all the way trhough, check out "vampires" ect. underrated songs on both that rock.
