Hi Lyn! Wonderful cacti, succulent plants and houseplants in your lovely polytunnel! All look well kept and healthy! I love those soldier like tall cacti...they are so elegant haha! I also fancied your piece of furniture...so beautiful. Looking at the plants in your polytunnel here in 2017 is bare compared to today's polytunnel. Those seedlings are little cuties! Love your huge kitchen window packed with plants! That fern is wonderful in that amazing pot! When I see your stephanotis it remind me of my poor one...I know that it will do well but at the moment we are refurbishing our small back garden where it is so we had to cut it very short! That hairy begonia is lovely and the seedlings are so cute! Plant growing is contageous Lyn!!! Thanks for showing us around! Have an amazing evening Lyn and Hans! Sending you both lots of love and happiness!

Lyn, this was a lovely video. You shared so much information. Just wish I could remember names of some of the plants that are like ones I have. I get confused as to which plants are dormant when. I know I fuss over them too much and they need a break! Going to Italy for 2 weeks and they’ll be on their own 😟 Don’t think I can bring plants back to US, but hope I’ll see some nice pots 🎄 And, I liked the longer video!

Also I’ve always watered my cactuses in the winter. Is that a bad thing?
@desertplantsofavalon7 жыл бұрын
Hi there :-D it can depend on what type of cactus you are growing as epiphytic and Christmas cacti like to be kept watered all year round but the Desert cacti need to be kept cool and dry from Oct to March :-D XXXXX

U have a wonderful collection. I’m having issues with my succulent collection and wondering if you can help. I brought mine all in for the winter and lately I noticed a lot of the leaves on all of my succulents have some kind of damage or holes. I looked everywhere and don’t see any kinds of bugs. What should I do? Anyone who read this comment please help.

Hi there :-D unfortunately it could be down to many things and you would be best to post up some photos on one of the Facebook groups that help with problems and you could try the British cactus and succulent FB page they are great at helping with problems with plants and should be bale to help XXXX

Desert Plants of Avalon hahaha! I just thought the corners of your POLLY tunnel especially look dark. Maybe a little foil might keep it brighter, I'm not sure about the light reflecting and burning plants, although the light looks muted enough to not get burning rays! You inspire me and my collection with every vid ❤️😘

Good morning from NC, USA!!! Lyn you, Hans, and your collection is so inspiring! I just love your channel and all of your positivity. I have a question about watering succulents and winter vs. summer growers. I found your channel because I have just started growing succulents and even more recently cactus and I was looking for information. I have been subscribed to you for a few months now and I haven’t seen a video about watering the different seasonal growers. In this video I noticed more than any other all of your winter growers. Can you shed some light on if you water your succulents all the same. In specific but not limited to, I’ve seen that jade and haworthia are winter growers and are dormant in the summers and should be watered more during the winter due to this. Have you experienced that this seems to be true or do you just water all of your succulents the same no matter what?
@zeppypaige7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for all that you do and taking the time to even read my comment. I hope you and Hans have a wonderful day and sending you both lots of love ☺️

HI there :-D thanks so much for your really wonderful comment and so happy to hear you love the videos and find them inspiring, this makes us so happy to hear this :-D Its always more difficult to know when to water the Winter growers especially when the weather is cooler at this time of year, I still keep my aloes and Gasterias and Crassula's and Kalanchoe's lightly watered this time of year because they are still growing but I only enough to stop them from shrivelling because I keep them cool in the polytunnel at a temperature between 4 -10c / 45-50 F and I only water them about once every 6-8 weeks until the Spring again when I will water them weekly when the weather warms up. I would suggest keeping your Winter growers lightly watered if you are growing them indoors and they are kept above 15 / 60 F but allow the soil in the pots to totally dry out in between waterings, but if you are growing them in a cool room keep them more on the dry side :-D here is a link to a video I have made on how to water your Cacti and succulents and I mention a few tips about the Winter growers, I hope it helps :-D kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmncgGaEbLRqg5Y XXXX
