Today, after years of not crocheting and knitting, I finally finished both of my projects. I had been struggling with the granny blocks, but I found a helpful channel that eased my frustration and provided valuable tips. I learned that even if the stitches don't match, there are ways to work around it. The advice to fix loosey-goosey stitches, work through both loops in the corners, and take a photo of the desired finish was incredibly valuable. Now that I've blocked the projects, I feel confident and ready to tackle the finishing touches. Thank you!

This is terrific. I have 30 9" squares to connect for a blanket--all blocked. I had seen a mitered square blanket in knit I liked so adapted that and now have the squares in 3 different gradient yarns and put aside for our move to a new home. Today I laid them out and balanced to my eyes, marked the rows with different color stitch markers, put rows in order of connecting--and went back to look at my saved videos--and found yours which I had never seen. Like it the best--my rows should be the same on all sides BUT.....and tried this on 2 squares I use for my demo--and love it. Thanks so much.

Thank you very much. I will definately try this last method with a (granny) square blanket I am making, composed of 192 triangles, that make up overlapping hexagons. A nightmare. Especially since the instructions basically make vague references to doing single crochet through all four loops and 2 extraones at the corners. And not much else. Your video has given me hope.

Great tutorial, Thank you! I am new to crocheting and wanted to ask the following. You mentioned in the tutorial that you like to do a single crochet around your squares before you attach. Would you add a single crochet around a granny square?? TIA
@HeartHookHome2 жыл бұрын
Not on a traditional granny square. I typically do a round of single crochet on the squares that are worked in flat rows so that the sides will have a nice edge to work with.

Should I follow this joining method to join granny squares...even tho some of my squares look like they may have an extra stitch or two than the others? Is it a good idea to go around each square with a single crochet still? I'm a beginner and is my first major (to me) project.
@HeartHookHome2 жыл бұрын
I do a sc border around on my squares so that all sides have a nice stitch to work into when stitching together. If you are doing granny squares, then you already have stitches around the entirety of the square so the sc border is not necessary. You can absolutely use this method even if some squares have a couple of extra stitches...just strategically and evenly space out skipping extra stitches.
