This deck is really ingenious. I like how Frost Nova, Doomsayer and Ice Block fit in an aggro deck and how Medivh's Velet and Ice Block work in conjunction with each other and the entire deck philosophy. Additionally, Codlight Oracle's presence gives this deck its core character.

There's only one problem, aggro decks will always be the strongest deck. It doesn't matter what kind of deck you play if youre opponent kills you turn 6.... Mass health gain decks or control warriors can't win against minion based aggro decks because if the opponent has a board you have to deal with it, by doing that you lose tempo. If your opponent still has cards in hand after you dealt with the board you still lose... If aggro decks where like burn decks in magic (you don't play minions, you just fire spells into the opponents face) it might be more balanced, because then you'd still be able to heal yourself without having to deal with a board.

A deck I've been having success with is a secret hunter. The idea is to render the opponent's early game useless with a combination of freezing, explosive and snipe traps, combined with eaglehorn bow to allow you to swing your weapon every turn, then using avian watcher, highmane and CotW as powerhouse cards. Too fast for control decks and cripples aggro turns 1-4. Similar to the hunter Trump faced but has only a few early game minions Barnes and the late-game cards I mentioned. Also the deck doesn't need card draw, as the secrets help stall until you get your power cards.

I actually saw this deck on icy veins and played it a while ago, before the whole standard thing. It was actually pretty fun. It brought me to my highest rank (Although, I don't play much and don't have the greatest access to cards). It was a lot more aggro with Leper Gnomes, Knife Jugglers, Mad Scientists, and Bomb Lobbers, but most of those were nerfed or removed from standard. I still run Bomb Lobber in my current deck, since dropping it on turn 2 wouldn't hurt. You don't really care about your life total that much, but you really care about theirs.

this is actuallu not far from the truth. there are different server clusters you get out into based on various factors like what's in your hand, rank, etc. There is no doubt in my mind popular streamers are in a special cluster designed around making the game look better. Which of course will include great mana curve draws with a higher probability. I also maybe 1 out of 5 games will get that dream startup hand compared to getting thrown my only 2 flamestrikes and Yogg opening hand or some such trash You will also notice the opponents almost always have that dream starting hand. 1/3 3/4 3/2 random totem / plus 2 totem, thing, control spells, etc. always draw what is necessary

Not really, as murlocks have poor stats/effect for their mana cost, only chance you could have against a shaman would be with warleader, but shaman should have the board control by then. Murlocks are also just a worse zoo, and zoo is also weak to midrange shaman because of maelstorm portal.

The problem with the Murlocs is that all of them have weak stats for their cost, with the intent being that other Murlocs buff them. Shaman meanwhile plays super strong cards with good stats (like Thing from Below) that also synergize with their totems. Murlock is basically a worse version of Zoolock, and Zoo gets destroyed against Midrange Shaman. So no, I don't think it'll work.

I didn't have that yet either, so I used the disciple of c'thun to replace. It is more expensive and doesn't hit as hard, but it makes up for it by not needing a secret in play to activate, so it's never a dead card.

it depends on the class, face hunter didn't run it because it had the hero power, aggro paladin has divine favour, aggro shaman is in such a spot that people can run tuskarr and magically get mana tide totem to draw them cards. overall aggro mage would have more trouble managing resources than other classes since it relies heavily on burn instead of charge or a good hero power

Druppel sure, any match up has variance. I do suspect Trump had success vs Control Warrior partly due to the novelty of this deck. Opponents weren't aware of how they should be playing it. When/if this deck is pervasive, as soon as you see coldlight oracle, you'll play it very defensively.

Why doesn't Midrange shaman just now play 1 copy of Healing wave? none of those minions are above 3 mana so 14 heal is easy for the shaman, and it also remedies play against other decks that happen to draw better.

Any deck can have 75% wins if you know how to play it (which is much easier when it's your own deck, you know where you're going). In the long run though (30+ matches, as opposed to the average of 10 matches people usually play to test a deck), the win rate falls drastically... You will very likely have to face various aggro strategies and no deck can be good against all of them, at some point you will enter a loss streak. It would be fun to try this deck in ranks below 15 though, because I'm pretty sure it's only strong against the typical top-tier decks from the current meta, decks you will only see in high levels because they require specific cards that most people don't have. Play that deck at the beginning of a new season, I'm ready to bet it will perform way worse than in this video...

The sample size for the win rate for the deck according to the guide was 71 games. Still definitely could have involved a lucky streak, but it's not the low amount of games you are suggesting. You're right about the deck being very meta-dependent, because the match-ups are so polarizing. Whether you use the deck to climb or not will entirely depend on how many Mid Range Shamans there are (and lack of Control Warriors) when you decide to queue up.

Valet is pretty replacable. It's a strong card and it's really good in this deck, but it's far from a key card. Try finding something that helps you keep up with the board turns 2-4 as a replacement

Loot Hoarder if you lack card draw or Cult Sorcerer if you need spell damage. Cult Sorcerer is nice because it can trick your opponent into thinking you're tempo mage.

Doomsayer is more important in this deck than thalnos. practically gobold geomancer will do the trick if you dont have cult sorcerer or thalnos. Obviously thalnos is better but you really want that +1 spell damage for cheap.

At 26: 11 if the mage used frostbolt against the doomsayer, Trump would have maybe lost the game. 4 damage from bolt, 1 from thalnos, 2 from wyrm.

Played this deck multiple times... Sucks ass against control/weapon warriors due to the easy armour gains and minion removal. Pretty hard against druids that base their decks on mana gains and big drops. It's all based on how lucky you get with draws.

Today I just got match with this deck 2 times and I lost both, I was like "what is this deck, aggro freeze mage?" Getting burst down from 20 hp at 10 mana, it's the classic fireball > frost bolt x2 > frost lance x2
