I agree with everything said at the beginning. Its a shame because heartstone's flavor is unmatched by any other card game. Too bad that valve doesnt want to create its own card game, with more focus on competitive game (as cs go or dota2), i have no choice but to create "fun" decks and being crushed by shamans and other top tier decks, or download duelyst and play a game that i think it looks like shit but my nerdy friend says its a marvelous piece of pixel art .

So far Dragon Pally has done pretty well against Shaman. Aldors to control the 7/7. Minion presence can battle for board. Concentration to control totems and small minions and mid level bigger minions to battle its big minions.

Nobody is getting the big picture here. When you complain about not being able to play "fun" decks, well the deck you're trying to play isn't fun itself if it doesn't provides the actual fun you're expecting. - Don't try to play control if you can't stand the fact that you'll lose in 4 minutes or win in 15. - Don't try to play aggro decks if you can't stand the high variance that may bring you amazing win streaks or soul crushing losing ones. - Don't play combo if you can't stand the rock-paper-scizor aspect of it. - Don't play midrange if you're too lazy to make meta calls on a day to day basis. What's amazing about Trump is that, while he sometimes have suboptimal plays, he has an incredible understanding of those concepts and always manage to find the fun in the game, winning or losing.

After some very extensive play time in this meta I fully understand where the frustration of this post come from but I believe the answer is alot more simple then anyone realizes. Dragon warrior counters all Tier 1 decks out there quite adequately. It has enough early game to keep up with all the hyper aggressive decks and has a quite nasty late game with card like Grom and Ragnaros. Not to mention it comes with the full package of warrior answers such as Goul, slam, execute, blood to icore and Fiery war axe. I started laddering from Rank 18 and reached Rank 4 in about 8 hours of play time while maintaing a 78% win rate

It's legendary spider minion from rogue class and I have experienced that it's very good against control warriors since it can constantly come back on the field. If you mean Pirate Warrior is terrible, well, works for me. I'm not saying its the best thing out there, but built well it counters current shaman builds pretty well, dominates zoo & hunter, and games are short so it's good for climbing the ladder fast or collecting gold. If you mean it's terrible that Shaman are so OP, there's always going to be a strongest deck out there. It's not like they're undefeatable. Personally I'd like to see a nerf to Tuskarr Totemic though, when it pulls Totem Golem it's just sick and flametongue/manatide can be pretty ridiculous too.

Blizzard sucking balls at balancing is to blame for the state of the game. Also their refusal to nerf/buff cards after mistake has definitely been made. Juggler 2/2 nerf is fantastic example. After 2 fucking years they finally did what any sane person would do after 2 days. Sadly when blizzard nerfs cards its usually to oblivion , juggler being the rare example. When creating cards for HS fuck ups are bound to happen. After all only small number of people is doing the play testing and sure they are going to miss on things. Such as Mysterious Challenger or Dr. Balanced or Shredder or Yogg. But their philosophy of creating cards whose power level is clearly hands and shoulders above rest to push specific arch-type or a class and than if that seems to be broken fuck it it will go away 1-2 years from now is really what is killing this game.

It's not the idea of a certain underpowered class becoming overpowered that's the issue. It's the WAY Blizzard chooses to implement buffing a class, which is to do it the only way they know how, to make it a scummy ass deck. They've shown through the years they are incapable of creating a highly competitive Control deck. C'thun was their attempt and while it had a couple weeks in the spotlight, it's faded in the background as people realized, "Oh yeah, these scummy decks are actually pretty strong!" People aren't angry by the simple fact that Shaman is strong, but the fact HOW Blizzard chose to make them strong.

I don't think this is the way it should work, but I think the way it does work is that the damage and freeze are two separate consecutive events, where the damage happens, causing the imp gang boss to summon an imp, and then the freeze effect, which includes the imp

trump, i think this deck might be not the cure but maybe the counter to a lot of things. the point is that 80% probaly doesn't have all those legends. They can craft a midrange shaman or midrange hunter deck if they played a amount of time (month or something). if you want to play this deck, you have to play 1-3 years, depending on how good you are. OR you can spend money on the game, but that is not what the most players want. you came up with a great idea, but only 20% of all the players can use it...

Reno is very good, demonist's board clears and also very good, however you can't reliably draw your board clears in a reno deck, thus, you're heavily reliant on either draws to reduce the impact of rng( but the meta doesn't allow it) and getting to those cards, or a very early game oriented deck, kind of a zoo reno, to try and compete reliably during the early game. Bottom line is, it's not very reliable. A demonist deck with multiple versions of the board clears would probably do well against shaman and minion based decks, but terribly against tempo mage, since healing in HS is incredibly expensive, even though the effect is very weak. Thanks Blizzard, for an aggro-ridden meta since 2014. And by thx i mean i my dick.

Yes, we are squarely in Shamanstone (although, I find Maly Druid more frustrating in this meta), but this meta is still not as bad as Undertaker Hunter or Secret Paladin, or even Patron Warrior. That said, Shaman did NOT need yet another strong card with Spirit Claws. FeelsBadMan

Yup this current meta is ridiculous. Blizzard nerfed decks that required a certain combo but were still able to be countered. Yet face shaman hunter & zoo have just gotten more & more ridiculous. They nerfed the warsong commander because it "wasn't fun to play against" but has done nothing to help against all the aggro decks. Plus with the next round of standard coming pretty much every control deck (especially warrior) is going to be destroyed with all the cards being cycled out.

yeah, that's cause they were the weakest class, but starting in TGT (totem golem), coming into affect in LOE (tunnel trogg), and showing no signs of stopping in the last two expansions, blizzard has given shaman so many strong cards that they can now basically build a deck of 30 class cards from the last 4 expansions and win. This is actually pretty common for blizzard games; weakest class is given so many good things that they are the new OP, and the new weakest class gets buffed to even stronger, making it essentially a cycle of taking turns being the strongest. Just about every class (except priest) has at this point had a deck that was head and shoulders above everything else (Face shaman, face hunter, miracle rogue, secret paladin, patron warrior, handlock/zoolock, ramp druid, mech mage) so likely in the next few expansions we'll see a few new OP priest cards, and once shaman's core rotates out with 2017 it'll become the new dominant.

he complaints are valid, but that is true in alot of paper card games. Magic has on average 3 to 4 top teir decks in their Standard that just crush all others. Modern is a much larger card pool and only has about 5 top teir decks. yu gi oh from my understanding has about 2 decks at top teir. it is not so much a hearthstone problem as a card game problem.

It'll only last until the next cycle of blocks and then everyone will find a new class/deck to complain about. Shaman doesn't win 100%, there can be misplays, bad hands and sometimes the other guy just brings in enough "new" to out-tempo them. I would know, I played aggro shaman a few times and got destroyed on occasion by just plain better plays, if you can't keep up the tempo absolutely, the deck gets completely rolled.

Thing is, Shaman back then had powerful cards they were just missing a few small things like a powerful 1 drop and a cheap board clear to transition to mid game and keep their board. 0 mana 5/5 taunts also help I guess. Doom hammer is an old card, but I think it's one of the biggest offenders now that they have such early game dominance. 16 damage burst, 28 damage over 4 turns from 3 cards that collectively cost 7 mana and 2 overload. Absurd.

I don't know what idiot at blizzard thought it was a good idea to make cards with synergy from overload. It just means that shamans get full mana efficiency from the next turn mana they pay immediately. Tunnel Trog followed by the 3/4 totem is 5 mana worth of 2 cards on turn two.

I think what was tricky about that play, is that he didn't have another 2 drop to play on 2. So if he coin-doomsayer'd, turn 2 would've just been Tap-Pass. As it turns out, he did actually topdeck a peddler on turn 2 (so it would've worked out), but Trump wasn't necessarily to know that.
