They don't release multiple "multiclass experimental" things in one standard rotation because they are afraid that they could break something and will have to spend resources to nerf stuff. It's unlikely they will create something like that in two upcoming years, which makes it unnecessary to do such small, unimportant, greedy steps. But I have to admit (sadly) - I like the path they took. I just don't like their way they go it.

Artem, don't forget that the second set of the year is very important for the Standard ecosystem. Just remember that most often the second set remains relevant throughout the year, although there is always a chance that the developers will make a mistake. :]

I'm not smart I just play sets with themes I find fun I'm just here to collect cards and when I can afford it and feel really passionate for theme buy a set pass. This set a lot of fun theme wise and the mechanics and meta I'm not smart enough to critique

my main issue with tourist is I now feel like I have to collect cards for a class I really don't care about. I got through showdown and whizbangs without having to disenchant the odd legendary from another class while still being able to collect the whole set for my main class, this allowed me to occasionally play fun decks from other classes with legendaries I enjoyed (i.e. scuffed headless horseman DK). If ranked ladder requires me to find the dust for 2 extra legendaries and probably 2-3 epics to complete the tourist class as well as my main class I feel like I'm either going to have to spend more money on the game, which I'm unwilling to do, or disenchant a lot of legendary and epic cards from other classes, greatly reducing the decks I can throw together when I just want to play casual stuff.

Actually, the tourist only unlocks 1 more legendary from the other class, not 2. But I can see your point. My time during the Scholomance Academy expansion was just as difficult.

I think it's somewhere in the middle I believe it is going to be change for future expansions but also like Dora said it's kind of a hidden way to force players to buy cars from another class.

Since Nathria, i find 90% of the expansion boring. The 10 year anniversary can bring something that i will love for sure. But it will not be Perils in Paradise. The idea is really cool, but the execution is very meh. In the end, i think Dora is right.

Something very important that you didn't mention was the impact of Whizbang as an expansion. You say "traditionally" the first set is a lower power level because of rotation and the second set is meant to power things back up. However, that isn't what happened with Whizbang, it drastically increased the power level of standard despite a rotation and required a record amount of nerfs. I don't think any other expansion in hearthstones history caused as many nerfs as Whizbang. Now Perils is looking to spike that power level again with very clearly pushed aggressive options. I don't think it will be unreasonable to expect similar nerf waves being required. On that note, Dual-Class cards being nerfed often feels pretty bad because it rarely is nerfed because of both classes. Usually one class is abusing it and the other suffers for it. That is now taken to the extreme with Tourists. One card could be fine for its class but because another class has access to it the main class might suffer. Instead of nerfing one dual-class card, card changes can have drastic impact on the viability of multiple cards from two classes at once. If druid abuses mage cards, mage has to suffer for it? Or what if one nerf makes a tourist no longer worth playing, but then that makes the Tourist and the additional class cards a loss of potential dust. The system on paper seems like an interesting test, the mixing of classes as a whole. However It is almost certain to be detrimental to players and the health of the game the way its being implemented. This is ontop of one of the worst themes to a set I have ever seen. I don't think anything tops Stormwind yet in being the worst expansion, but Perils makes it seem like they are trying really hard to top it.

Deck-building by itself can be a source of fun. These new Legendary Tourist cards allow for you to get creative with your deck-building (just as Genn and Baku do, for the next few weeks). Instead of making a "Genn DK" deck, you can make a "Buttons DK" deck with some of the "allowed" Shaman cards. The "allowed" cards are the key limitation (from the set allowed), but instead of adding pre-approved Dual-Class cards, you can add "allowed" cards of various rarities. This can include cards you think would be better with a different Hero Power. Dora's criticism comes before we even get a chance to see half of the new set.

I believe the "Tourist" concept is quite interesting, but using the dual-class cards as comparison doesn't seem quite right, since the cards just mostly tries to merge the identity/concept of both classes, while the Perils in Paradise allows to borrow the characteristics of the other class, although in a more controlled, flexible way. Also I won't say much more until the Expansion comes out, since there are still more cards to be revealed and the mini-set as well, I wanna see how well this will shake the meta. For this Discussion, I take side of Bot Mathematician & Holomancer, I like the new ways to play the game, as well I always dreamed of something like that, as one class "borrows" the characteristics of other, I hope the Tourists are a beginning of something more refined later on.

I actually think is the other way around, if you craft the tourist you can play with 9 cards of another class to fill your deck, it actually let players play a more complete deck despite missing some epics rares and legendaries

Calling the theme "for kids" seems a bit, well childish. I think it's fun and follows the 10 year anniversary celebrations somewhat. Also isn't it boring if every set would be "wow cool fighting sequence art" on every single card? The tourist cards are more interesting than the old dual class cards as well. And it's way too early to say if it's a good or bad set imo. If anything I think there are some strong cards revealed so far.

I'm sorry but the game is suposed to be World of Warcraft online card game, not a Disneyfied version of WoW. All good with having silly cards here and there but now the roles have switched.. now we are lucky if we have anything related to WoW Lore/Game in this Fortnite era version of the game.

There is a difference between light-hearted fun and the clearly childish theming of the set. Hearthstone has always been light hearted, but it didn't force that fun nature into every corner of its sets. A set like Decent of Dragons is a good example imo, it wasn't at the early parts of the game but also before they pushed the goofy nature more and more. The sets theme is the villains literally stealing the city of Dalaran. The sets premise is silly, but most of the cards of the set itself aren't ridiculous looking. Galakron and other legendary dragons look intimidating and very fitting for what a powerful dragon would look like. Some cards in the set have light-hearted natures to them but the set itself isn't a joke, you can appreciate what each card is represented by. With Perils, the DK tourist is an Abomination, which is a very fitting name as they are undead creatures stitched together from many different corpses, and they have him in swim trunks and a T-shirt. Imagine that on the same board as Sargeras. It's jarring just to think about, let alone see for real. We also get a dragon eating cheese...How can we say it isn't for kids? It sure isn't for adults. The set is titled Perils in Paradise and we've seen nothing indicating any sort of Peril what so ever, its all just goofy nonsense. It doesn't need to be dark or gritty but they've really gone off the deep end with this.

@@zeleros4027 Well, speaking of "dragon eating cheese", Gorgonzormu, it is a real World of Warcraft character, in particular it is a bronze dragon located at the Artisan's Market in Valdrakken, which was added in Dragonflight expansion. I myself enjoy more serious thematic too, but it is not only Hearthstone that became more goofy over passed years, but World of Warcraft itself became more goofy, thanks to the devs

I think you are focusing on the wrong thing.. the problem is not the new keyword.. Tourist.. the problem is the current state of the game.. Don't need to create new ideas and mechanics for every expansion... You can't figure out good new things for every expansion.. No one should expect this from You.. but don't kill the game by creating mindless OP mechanics.. Just use the ones the game already have.. and there are a lot already I think.. Maybe you should test out things properly and release only 1 expansion a year instead of throwing out 1 in every 3 months in an unbalanced, untested form. Several cards are just doing too much.. need to hold back power level again..

Well I think this new expansion and time is bad 3 Reasons - You need to craft each turist if you want to play combinations. - Some previous patch stop the farm exp in adventure mode. *I know why the devs made this decision, but i think it's not too good. - The events of resources or cards and other things are usually in the mid o end of the expansion. Now we can obtain 6 cards of FIzbang, but the problem is... why not new packs? or may be before (or more time and more points)?

I strongly believe that your ideas are now based on a thought that creators of Hearthstone have any understanding of how their game work. Which they don't, taking into account hundreds of times when they overlooked obvious gamebreaking combos and abuses. I could believe much easier in their enormous greed that makes them print cards that make you collect more. I have full wild collection btw, but still disapprove this approach.

This set is looking to be powerful and very impactful to the game as a whole, but that impact is very likely a negative one. I left another comment about this, but Whizbang lead to the most nerfs of any expansion because of a massive spike in power level despite a rotation occurring. It isn't unreasonable to expect a large quantity of nerfs being required again due to the clearly pushed power of the set. But the impact of nerfs is doubled when it effects two classes at once. What if one classes cards are nerfed because of the other class using them? What if a tourist becomes unplayable because of other nerfed cards, causing far greater impact to a players collection? On top of a theme that is being received middling at best, the set doesn't look like its going to be a positive set overall.

100% with explorer, now if you play tournaments instead of 3 decks now you need carda for 6, even if you enjoy 2 or 3 decks as a F2P, gonna have to craft double the amount.

I am not that excited for the new expasion, if there are common and rare cards in druid that are too good not to be played in warrior then I am kinda forced into crafting a whole unrelated legendary or I would be at a disadvantage, yes, every deck has legendary cards you need to craft, but I would not be crafting this legendary to use it, I would be "forced" to drop 1600 dust just so I can use the commons and rares that cost a lot less from another class, if the tourist cards turn out to be weak and the only reason to craft them is to use cards from the other classes, then I guess it is a big downgrade from dual-class cards, a downgrade that comes with a paywall, or dustwall if you will, to craft the legendary, and not even considering the deckslot. So if the tourists are actually good, then the set probably will be aswell, if not, well, blizzard is a s**tty company so I don't expect much anyway

One big difference between dual class and the tourists is that the cards you put in your deck from another class are still fundamentaly not considered cards from your class so cards that sinergizes with playing stuff from another class will work with them even though the cards started in your deck. From example there is a neutral 3 mana 3/4 on the new set that say "your cards from another class cost 1 less" and i think this card will have a big impact in good the tourists will actually be.

These three tourist cards are very weak! All paladin cards are weak and stupid! Finally, the mage got good cards... the rogue got a legendary one that will break the game in standard mode because of Tess.

Lynessa isn't an underwhelming card, it can make lightstick hit face for 8, make sea shanty fill board with 5/5 minions, have prismatic beam deal 6 to enemy board, kill 4 enemy minions with the snatch and grab rogue spell, with the drink and fancy packaging card give divine shield and 5/6 in stats for just 2 mana. Paladin has many 2 or less buff cards that can go hard if left even for one turn.

I like the concept of tourists. The dual class mechanic was my favorite reason to play duels and now they added them after deleting duels. I would have liked if you could use them for every expansion but this could have been very chaotic for wild

​@@HearthstoneMathematicsThe mechanics itself is not original given that there are already cards that exploit 2 classes together or even 3 classes in the case of mechanics (Dora was born in that expression) but you can only put one card per type to avoid devastating combos, I don't even consider it the worst since recruiting and raging were so bad that they were canceled due to their uselessness. final verdict? this video was released too soon, 3 weeks left and we still don't know all the cards and the meta
