I'll have to say, the duplicate protection was the reason why I came back to HS since I'm strictly F2P. The frustration of trying to earn all that gold and getting a duplicate legendary was so high it made me question the reason I'm playing the game. Dupe protection came back and I was all for trading my time to get a full(er) collection

10 years later and I'm still here! My guild in WoW was raiding SoO, & some of my guildies were in the HS beta. I didn't get in the open or closed beta, but was logged in on ladder for the very first month. A DECADE later & I still love the game. I'll be looking forward to playing HS for another 10 years!

I was under the impression you are just playing against the AI, like the cards and moves are highlighted in red, cycles through them before a play or a move 😷 on either turn ☕ I've been playing it since two years beta, in 2012, with the character animations on the board, which were cute, but not every card, and every play, someone asked me to get skins, besides micro transactions, I asked them, what's a skin? Besides F2P, or someone sent me 4 packs as a gift so I sent them 4 packs back, and it's 2024, besides COVID four years 😷

I think that if you invest at least 2 hours of your time daily, you could easily get all the important cards of Hearthstone in 2-3 years (including important Wild cards).

One factor about the early days this video doesn't include - that WoW gold could be used to buy Hearthstone packs. People had huge stockpiles from Garrisons in the Warlords of Draenor expansion that would cover years of playing both games.

I've been playing since January 2014 and I still enjoy the game. After a long period where I purchased the pre-order bundles, I finally settled with the Tavern Pass and I can easily obtain every card I wish while keeping the entire past collection. I do not own all the cards, though. Achievement hunting is my favorite activity within the game.

Yeah but remember, at the beggining of the new reward system there was an uproar because the grind was very heavy, one of the streamers played 1 to 2 full day and after that complained that he couldnt even grind decent, after that most players and streamers complained too (i think zeddy did it too) and made an uproar so blizzard had no option to change that system with the one we have now (remember the first time reaching level 50 was enough to complete the pass system). After that it was 100 level. :V

I've been a big fan of Gameloft for a long time. The studio was at the forefront of a revolution in the mobile gaming genre, porting popular titles under its own franchises. We still don't have mobile WoW, while Gameloft made their own clone many years ago. O&C looked like the most innovative game compared to games from major publishers. I'm very sad that the studio destroyed itself.

I've been playing Hearthstone since launch, with some pauses in between, when I got to a fatigue-phase. Since Sunken City I'm actively playing it again and I must say, looking at the evolution that HS went through over the years, is really nice, as it became more casual-friendly compared to the start. Hereby the quests improved a lot, mostly due to requiring only "PLAY x games" instead of "WIN x games", which was often impossible for someone who has not much time to play per day. too bad that there is no real support anymore for solo-content, as "Saviors of Uldum" was suuuch a fun game mode, especially without the stress of the "rope" in the single player mode... and also sad that Mercenaries was sent into a dead end just as it was getting nice to play with... I really enjoyed this mode as well...

9 years here. Since about 7 years when new dlc starts I'm buying 60-80 packs + mi series. All other gathered gold will be for next dlc. Another thing is that, I'm not disenchanting duplicates since about 7 years too, only when nerfs comes - my total dust (dust+copies) had hit 100k this year ^^ I've spend not even 50$€ on the game till now (but I'm thinkig, this will change a bit on closer preorder once, because I have some money on Google pay account (20$) and it propably will be part for normal or mega bundle). For me changes came to little + with reward track system and another prizes. But we need to remember, that first (alpha) reward track has wanted to be a scam not only for f2p players and "lovely" blizzard changed that at last...

I started playing near the end of the beta. I played a few games a week with out spending money on the game for the first 2 years. I started buying the pre-orders with Mean Streets and played almost every day until Journey to Ungoro. I did not spend money and did not play often during the year of the Raven and stopped playing before the year of the Dragon. I started playing again when Titans came out. I pre-ordered Badlands and plan on pre-ordering Whizbang. During my time away from the game I wanted to come back but I was worried about the cost of coming back. When I heard about twist mode I came back because I thought I would play battlegrounds and twist (I already had many of the cards for the mode) while I built up a collection for standard. I feel like I get more for my money and the game is playable without spending as much money now as it did back in the day. Really happy it has become cheaper to play and I hope Blizzard is able to have a stable enough revenue to continue to work on the game. I played Gwent and Runtera, both were great games and I liked how generous they were to players but I was always worried they were not making enough money to stay profitable and I guess I was right.

I'm playing the game since the first day of the open beta and never took a break. I have lost like 5-6 quest in 10 years, mostly on holidays when I didn't have access to internet at all. I remember I struggled a lot at the beginning of the game as a F2P player (I was too young to have a credit card at the time). When I got a credit card, I remember buying a pre order for once expansion + 200 packs for money (first expansion with legendary weapons). After that I always managed to get the full collection by buying the big pre order each expansion. Now with the duplicate protection and big preorder, I get the full collection on day 1.

Not here on Brasil, it hasan't. Because fucking Blizzard refuses to use localized prices. So if i want to buy a bundle? a 15 pack of cards? you have to pay in dollars. The minimun wage is about 1400 R$ (about 281,86 dollars), so your average joe can chose to buy a mega bundle, or to pay his bills and eat for the month. Literally impossible to buy anithing in herthstone if you live in Brasil.

I've been playing since 2017. It was definitely rough getting cards back then without spending money. Nowadays, I only spend money to buy the Tavern Pass if I like the cosmetics, and I can easily get enough gold to buy 80+ packs and the miniset every expansion.

Absolutely love all legendary decks haha. I play vs myself on 2 accounts with these all legendary decks, or with other random decks. Casual mode and duels too. I play ranked standard most still

I played for 2 years, mostly free to play. Then took 2 years off when the Rewards Track was introduced, as it seemed bad. Blizzard was going through a lot of controversy. A year ago I decided to return as long as the bundles were good value and the paid rewards track is now worth it.

i played like 6 years ago, then came back a month ago... it gave me a bunch of catch up "25 packs"... I think that was very nice. I easily have 1000 cards now, so its very interesting to play. its rewarding if you play for a week, get your rank, then come back end of month for a few packs. Log back in next season, get a few more cards. you can casual play and accumulate over time. one suggestion to improve, being able to dust a gold card with enough to buy the original + profit. right now, if you get 40 dust for a Gold , costs 40 dust for original.... would be nice to profit on the Cosmetic downgrade.

I played for the first three years. I had a blast. Once I quit a gotcha game I never go back. I still occasionally get tempted to log in and dust all of my cards for shits and giggles. I had them all up to the point I quit. Been playing Marvel Snap since launch. I'm real close to the end. The cheating bots are getting bad & send my tranquil ass into a complete rage lol it's not a good feeling. Cheating is one thing I absolutely cannot tolerate.

I’ve been playing hearthstone for 9 years now (jumped in when The Grand Tournament was released) and I’m the only one among my friends whom still plays. I stoped buying packs during the third expansion (Decent of Dragons 2019) due to the increased cost and weak impact of new cards. Around here I became a F2P and started manage my economy better. I still haven’t reached a lever where I can get all tier 1 cards for Legendary competitiveness and usually end up on Golden/Diamond. Since December 2023 - I’ve stopped selling all my duplicates and will wait until they rotate out instead, this would hopefully put me in a situation where I easily an craft any card I need with the dust I get with each rotation coming years.

Keeping your cards like I’m doing is a challenge but the idea is to actively disenchant cards I have duplicates of which are getting nurfed. Update: today when logging in HS made significant nerfs to cards I have in wild, legendary, epic, rare and common. Some I hade duplicates of and even som in gold. I disenchanted the ones I don’t use (I don’t play wild) and all duplicates. Now I have 12K dust!! I cannot believe it myself but I have never had this much dust in 10 years playing HS!!

in March of 2014 World of Warcraft went live with a new achievement that would get you a cool in game mount. All you had to do was win 3 games in Hearthstone. So I downloaded the game & played through the opening to unlock the game then went on to win 3 games for my achievement. I quit playing Magic the Gathering a few years before when I started playing WoW. Hearthstone was like Magic Jr. to me so I took to it right away & got hooked. I deleted Hearthstone at least 2 times in the past vowing to never return. After a couple months I would return and eventually stayed for good. So in 10 years I have played for about 9 & 1/2 years. I feel the game is in a much better place now than it was 10 years ago but I feel there is still room for improvement.

If hearthstone packs were cheaper i would buy at least 1 pack per week. But for me its a high price for something exclusively digital. I would prefer buy magic the gathering cards to have both digital and physical collection of cards.

10 years and more to come Current tier level: 158 Achievement points: 28180 Gold atm: 10800, with every new expansion i buy 50 -60 packs + normal 2000 gold expansion ) i try dont go lower then 5000 with gold dust: 58710 + 34095 (disenchant) (i disenchant with only full refund) in 10 years i buy 1 twitch prime month , to get legend card, no more real money purchases , but in the end Time is Money and that i invested to much i try hit every month rank 5 diamond, only if i like current deck much i go to legend (to much grinding) GL all :)

Hi everyone, I would like your opinion(s) if possible. I left all Blizzard games several years ago for moral reasons (several scandals including: Blizzchung, the devs speaking against the players, etc., which was all compounded with the explosive sexual lawsuit). Now that senior leadership has changed, the workforce is unionizing, and Microsoft's acquisition, do you think it would be okay to return because of positive ethical changes in the works, and any that have happened? Life is short and I don't want to support evil companies, but I miss Hearthstone lol.

thing is, microsoft is just as bad if not worse than blizzard, the scanalds will still exist just probably not so in the front, but if you left because the previous leadership you can return but if you dont want to support evil companies it is quite difficult since nothing significant changed in the gaming industry

Nah blizzard is laying people off left and right, while their customer support is just bots, The game has not evolved well either. The rotations and the way less impactful standard cards means you will constantly need to be buying more and more packs, Add to that the fact that classes now absolutely need a hefty amount of class cards each expansion while there are very few just good all around neutral cards and the game in reality is way more expensive than it used to be. Dont bother.

So, i’m pretty new to Hearthstone and im confused. You mention duplicate protection is a thing now, but how is it that I can still get duplicates when I open a pack? I always have the option to “mass disenchant” after I open a bunch of packs.

You’ll get dup cards as soon as you get all the cards for that rarity, for example if u already got all the commons (fairly easy cards to get) you’ll get those as duplicates cause all the packs you’ll open have common card as a potential drop. Next time you open a pack pay attention to it

I played a good amount of games from Order & Chaos at the time. But overtime, the MOBA went a bad way (and the grind was already pretty rough), the card game went out of service, and the MMO got a less authentic sequel, practically killing the original title.

I liked earning gold and buying packs. The rewards track/battle pass forced me to play when I did not want to to earn fewer rewards for expansions that were uninteresting. The game was over when ben brode left. I stand with Ukrane keep up the good work.

When anyone complains about the cost of hearthstone I just laugh at them. It's only been getting cheaper really, and to get only Meta cards is super cheap. It only becomes more expensive if you want all the cards but even then it can be achieved for not that much. Just buy a few good pre-orders thru the year and grind the game. And if one don't have time to grind the game then one don't really need all the cards lol.

Since March 2015. Let's be honest, the resource system sucked then as much as it does now. You either spend an unreasonable amount of time or an unreasonable amount of money. Otherwise, at best, you can only craft a tier 1 deck. Hoping it won't get destroyed by nerfs. As long as there are stupid fanboys of this game who think everything is always fine, Blizzard will continue with this economic policy. It's absurd that in order to have a decent collection ("decent" meaning being able to play at least 3 tier 1 decks, so I can adapt to the meta I encounter), I have to spend either 250 euros a year or 8 hours of my life every day.
