Actually you can force the Japanese to starve in those landings! The Japanese will always try to land in Qingdao and Weihaiwei (the port in Shandong) and the two tiles between them, so the solution is to win in the ports and keep a garrison around the two tiles you willl need 6 troops forming a C shape around the landing site with 2 troops on the ports themselves same goes for the Shanghai region this time, place 2 troops in the 3 ports around Shanghai and place 1 in tiles around landing spots this way you can avoid losing guns and make the japanese starve in pockets!

Battlecry isn't so bad. The achievement doesn't state it, but you no longer need the treaty port. It's basically just this run, except you're a little more reliant on the AI early on not to fold against Japan. Paratroopers can get you on the homeland.

@@Gamingmaster-jv9zj If you accept Japan's surrender, they will release Korea. However, to some extent it is still treated as if China occupies it even though it is not. As China you do not have military access to Korea then but yet you are still required to garrison it somehow, you see there is a compliance and resistance bar if you click on their territory. Plus should the compliance gets high enough as you saw in this video, you can make a collaboration government in Korea (AKA Chinese Korea) in which case the old Korea will disappear.

What they dont have is 1934 Artillery. They have a lot of very old out of date artillery still kicking around mosrly due to the sheer number of cannon they made...but modern(as of the interwar period) artillery? Required industry China lacked on account of a combination of getting complacent followed by the century they spent being fucked over by basically anyone not the US.

Used this strategy and won- achievement unlocked, thank you Dave! I actually got to sit and make a super tall China since Japan went down the non-aligned path and offered me a non-aggression pact. Also funny was that to get this achieve you need the specific peace event... which does not account for if you have already invaded and seized Japan's home islands (thankfully I got to keep those).

In la resistance there is a bug, in which Japan isn't actually hostile to china until the Co-prosperity sphere forms. You can sign a non aggression pact with Japan up until April 1937 on historical: all you gotta do is improve relations and put diplomatic pressure on them with an agent.

When I completed this achievement with some few extras, it took me 1946 or 1948 because I had to fight against the Soviets, because Sinkiang joined the comintern and just controlling the territory wasn't good enough.

Paratroop drop is faster and doesnt require naval dockyards. You also get the whole IJN which can be used to land troops on Germany and stretch their defense even thinner.

Guangxi is a double edged sword for sure. If they submit, you get a puppet with a lot of steel. If they dont, well they have a lot of factories and you can get the fourth research slot early. Also so much exploit you can do: - Shandong Trap: Put garrison on both the unmarked Weihai port and Qingdao port, also put troops on the middle line of Shandong to ensure your Weihai garrison do not get cut off. If the Japanese try to land anywhere in Shandong, they will be instantly encircled with nowhere to run. - Shanghai Trap: Place troops on Hangzhou, Shanghai, Ningbo, and all those the middle part from that lake to Shanghai. Keep those shoreline south and north of Shanghai empty. Should the Japanese land on those empty space, they have nowhere to run. - Deliberately lose Shandong: Try not to lose Qingdao though, the Japanese will try to squeeze in a lot of divisions there but as long as you don't let them take Qingdao, they should run out of supply and easy to repel. The thing here is so that there are less troops in the north.

I think once you learn to deal with naval invasion effectively which is the main challenge here, you should be fine. Also another thing missed here is to get the Soviet Union Mission focus ASAP, no need to go deep into that tree because even just the top one is good because once you do, the Soviets will generously lend lease equipment to you.

The best way defending costal area is to have a few divisions using fall back lines to make pockets around ports. Japan ai will then endlessly send troops to land in those pockets with absolutely no supply and getting pushed into sea in like days. After pushing japan out of Manchuria, you build airport in Korea and let japan land and push around Siam. The dumb ai will now move all its plane to Siam and fight air superiority. Now you can just use 3 fighter to cover Korea, sea, japan mainland and drop paratroopers on their ports and transfer all troops on to japan for easy ass slap.
