Kit did such a good job of showing the terror he feels at knowing Charlie's life is in danger and having no slightest clue how to help, feeling it's on his shoulders since he is literally the only one who knows how bad it is in Charlie's head - certainly no adults know yet! In reality, kids in Charlie's state sometimes succeed in taking their own lives. Amplified by the lyrics in "ur so pretty" it's just one of the most poignant scenes I've ever watched.

They spent an entire day working just on that scene. Every word, every gesture, was meticulously orchestrated by them, and it shows. That's what a great actor does.

i gotta say that look nick gives at the end after saying bye to charlie, closing the door, that tells you everything you need to know abt what's going on in his mind. the way he was putting on a happy face in front of charlie to make him feel better and he just drops it after closing that door, he's so worried about charlie. because deep inside nick also knows that charlie has a long journey ahead of him, to heal from that pain inside him. also props to joe locke and kit connor who are fantastic in that last scene at the end, the best scene in the show for me.

Thank you for being one of the best reactor when it comes to this series. It is so nice to watch someone who understands what is going on nad actually has someothing meaningful to add to it. I love this series so much and the topics it includes and the way it handles everything and your comments have made it even better.

I just had a realisation about NIck and Tao's conversation. I love how Nick clearly immediately understands how Tao's loss of his father has affected him in every aspect of his life and you can see the realisation he comes to as to how it explains a lot of Tao's actions, especially since he was on the receiving end of a lot of the negative ones in the last season. And I think that, at least to some degree, he gets it because his own father is so absent. The way these characters parallel each other and it all meshes so well is truly a thing of beauty.
@jcs1025
@jcs1025 11 ай бұрын
Agree. I also think that Tao has this realization much earlier, and it was this realization helped open the door to Nick and Tao forging a good relationship. On the bus on the way to Paris, Tao comments that it’s ‘unexpected’ when he discovers that Nick can speak French. But Tao learned something else in that moment - that Nick also has an absent father, albeit for a very different reason. I think Tao commenting that this is unexpected meant both his discover that Nick speaks French, but also that he and Nick have a common experience. I think this is what finally melts Tao a bit and open the door to the great conversation in the hotel room later that night.

Yes, I'm a comic reader and the next season is going to be really heavy. The way Heartstopper is laid out is really genius. You start to love the main characters (slight spoiler for comics, called the Paris Squad beginning in volume 4), in the first season, and for N+C, it plays out kind of like a classic teen from com (And both Elle and Charlie get that cliche prom moment when your date is just in aww of your beauty, but it's subverted, because they are both queer.), but the rest of the volumes and now the series, peel the layers, and in the process for N+C, you come to see why that initial shy pull they had towards each other was spot on.

Aha! Finally.😁✨ 1:13 the "I'm bi actually" thing, atleast for me, is something so relatable. Being a bi guy myself, when I was in a relationship with a guy, the amount of times I had people assume that I was gay is unreal. So I really enjoyed that.

I've said this so so many times. The language in the last scene in Nick's room is amazing. They use "please tell me if it ever gets that bad again" instead of "stop for me" when my mom found out about mine she told me to stop for her. And when you slip up and relapse (because it happens it's normal) which I eventually did I felt so bad. I felt like I messed up and like I should be ashamed so I hid it until it got really bad. I almost had to go to the hospital with how bad it got because I was hiding it. That change in language can be so beneficial because I think I would have told someone sooner and got more help sooner before things got so bad. And only someone who's gone through that and has a history of self harm can understand the impact that your word have. Also I lost my shit after the end a replyed to the post on Twitter of it from the Netflix UK and Ireland account and they replied to it say "8 am Heartstopper season 2 comes out 12pm: (then my post which was something like "Netflix I need season 2 right now how dare you end it like that")" I was quite proud of that moment lmao.

I don't know which way they'll take it, but I do think we are meant to see a spark of romantic interest from Imogen towards Sahar. I'm super hoping they take this opportunity to give us a "questioning" scenario that isn't toxic like Ben.

this is such a good episode. I'm almost speechless... The communication between Tara and Darcy is top notch. And that Charlie feels so loved and trusted by Nick that he dares to reveal his self-harm. there are more big events in this episode but 1 thing is not discussed. It's about Isaac, perhaps a small point in comparisons with the rest of the episode, but I think it should be mentioned because it is a big step for Isaac. In the full episode you can see it clearly when the group is at Nick's house Isaac has that A C E book with him and he is reading it too. his friends can see this clearly and Isaac doesn't hide it either. This shows a lot about Isaac because he trusts his friends so much that he doesn't feel the need to hide it.

Utterly amazing reaction as always. Absolutely loved hearing such in-depth thoughts and discussion from you. Your videos have been my favorite regarding Heartstopper reactions. You put so much thought and analysis into each episode and spot moments that other people usually skip over or don't notice in favor of exaggerated reactions. I love these, and I definitely will return to your discussions again when season 3 releases.

Your reactions to Heartstopper are beautiful and so befitting the series as a whole. Thanks again for your deep analyses, especially when it comes to the psychology of the series. I actually appreciate you stopping for an impromptu analysis before, during or after important scenes and giving context. That's what I'm here for. You go sooo much deeper than many other reactors, the empathy really oozes out of you, and your deductive (is that the right term? Sorry, not a native speaker.) skills are incredible!

What you said earlier in the series about how the representation in this show feels so natural because the characters aren’t reduced to their sexualities is so true. I always think about that when I see that scene with Tao and Elle before prom. Elle gets the typical teen girl moment of walking down in her prom dress and her parents interrogating the boyfriend lol. She has some unique experiences because she’s a trans girl but at the end of the day she’s just a girl. It makes me emotional thinking of all the young trans girls watching this and feeling like they could have that moment too.

I know Charlie’s mom doesn’t seem like a bad parent, especially compared to Darcy’s mom but she is criminally oblivious. She doesn’t notice Charlie’s struggles with food and doesn’t know about his self harm struggles because she just doesn’t pay attention to him and that makes me so sad.

@@sophiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieFair point, but there _are_ certainly hints of Jane's attitude already being shown. The controlling nature, the unreasoning anger, etc. Julio, like his comic counterpart, is a bit torn between his wife and son. I'm not sure where the show will take this aspect of the story, if they'll explore the reasons behind it all or not.

I've been eagerly awaiting your reaction because they're so in depth and emotionally aware. I could write a dissertation on my thoughts about HS and this episode, but here are three things not a lot of people have commented on. 1) the creators did such a good job see-sawing between light and dark. Charlie passing out is immediately followed by Tao & Elle finally kissing; the fun friend prom followed by the most devastating scene. (Kit & Joe acted the HELL out of that scene). 2) the difference between Darcy and Ben is so interesting. They both have unaccepting parents, but one is out and proud and the other is self-hating and lashes out. 3) Tao and Elle dancing at prom is epic. Tao, self appointed borderline outcast, and Elle, trans girl bullied by her peers, happily dancing in the spotlight without a care in the world.

I actually love these videos ❤ also, that last scene is the only time I have ever cried because of a show. When I first watched it, I actually sobbed (not like a tear rolling down… FULL like body shaking… everything.) I know exactly how it feels to see someone struggling and feeling like you’re useless because I’ve been on both sides of it. When all you want is to help someone, but they can only help themselves. It just reminded me so much of myself and I hated seeing Charlie going through that. To anyone who might be in that same boat, you are not alone. Notice how Charlie has all these people around him. You have people around you who just want you to be okay. People like me, who will listen to your story over and over again if it will help.

I absolutely love your reactions! Found you today and watched all 16 of your HS reaction videos! This show has become my obsession, I watch it every day and it has taken over my life! This last episode was so stunning and every single detail of this episode and every other one, so amazing. The director, producer, and of course Alice, created a world of just the most spectacular cast, lighting, soundtrack, etc. The details are beyond anything I’ve ever seen. The very beginning of this episode you hear Baby Queen sing Colours of You (written by her for Nick and Charlie) and Nick goes to Charlie’s house wearing a jumper and tshirt that are the colors of Charlie’s pride flag and Charlie is wearing the colors of Nick’s pride flag…literally covered in the colors of each other! So freaking awesome! Oh my gosh, I love this show, these stories, these characters and the cast. Just beyond amazing! ❤🍂🥰 Season 3…can’t wait, also grabbing tissues and finding a therapist! Shew…

I love your reaction videos! Been anxiously awaiting this last episode. I really appreciate your thoughtful insights on the characters. I am in total agreement that Nick is the favorite character. I respect him so much for never pulling away from Charlie or his own feelings, even when he’s confused or overwhelmed. He stands up for himself and Charlie and just always does and says the right thing. I love seeing such a young person so in touch with his feelings and his immense care for those he loves. What a great model for how to treat people. Well done on your videos and I’ll be anxiously awaiting season 3 with everyone else.

I love how when Nick talks to Tao about the problems happening with Charlie, he does it in a way that respects Charlie's privacy and doesn't reveal what he's observed about Charlie's eating disorder. I love how much he respects Charlie's experiences and confidences and never let's Imogen know that Charlie was abused by Ben, never asks Charlie's friends first if they've observed Charlie's strange eating habits. He always waits to have those conversations directly with Charlie - he never treats him as fragile - and he only talks to Tao about the pain that Charlie is in. Thus helps him gather some information about Charlie: that he doesn't seem to have opened up about his troubles with his best friend. I want Nick to have a similar conversation with Tori at some point next season. I think Tori also needs to share her worries about Charlie with someone to support her own mental health.

16:30 -ish -- They likely will go with Imogen going a "LUG" arc (Lesbian Until Graduation, as that old term has been used) to represent experimentation but not an actual revelation of being bi/gay/pan, as such. (It falls in line with the show trying to reflect the widest spectrum of sexuality/gender as exists IRL; for Imogen, her sense of not being able to be with guys she has liked -- Nick, as he's bi-but-not-liking-her-that-way, and Ben because... well... he's Ben... -- but seeing a number of her queer friends having happy relationships may lead her to try to have her emotional "liking" of Sahara become more than that, even though her own sexual orientation is likely straight, proper.) But we'll see how they decide to play it out.

Even if I don’t always agree with where you may wind up on certain characters! 😊 It physically hurts that we all have to wait who knows how long for Season 3… which unless it is renewed will be the last Season. 🥹 But I look forward to watching you then. In the interim, have you watched “Fellow Travelers” on Paramount +/Showtime? COMPLETELY different vein of LGBTQ + representation. And though excruciating to watch at points it is a brilliant cinematic representation of a part of Gay history that I would LOVE to see you react to. In any event… THANKS AGAIN!!! 😊
