For me there's such a telling scene about Charlie's poor self-esteem and body image issues in the opening minutes of this episode: it's obviously hot enough that Tori is using a fan but Charlie is still wearing a cardigan... Lovely to have you reacting to this beautiful show again, looking forward to watching more of it with you.

Also they shoot the beach scene somewhen in spring when its been damn cold. They went in and out WINTER jackets while shooting these scenes. You can even see their skin turn a little cold and purple while in water^^. Massive respect to play fun and relaxation while freezing in ice cold water.

I believe some of the designers on the show wanted to integrate all the LGBTQIA+ flags by putting the colours together

16:01 actually, if I remember correctly, in the comics, Charlie just says "yes... yeah, I guess I do" or something along those lines to Nick when he asks instead of denying it. That makes Nick's response of "is that what you wanted to talk about too?" make more sense. I honestly don't know why they changed that

I think it makes more sense for Charlie to be in a bit of denial. And not wanting to admit it - maybe not even to himself - is probably more realistic than someone saying “yep, I think so, too.” I feel like Alice Oseman’s writing has matured a lot over the past few years and the little changes from the comics are usually for the better (in my opinion)

Regarding the whole “vest/tank-top” thing, it’s one of those U.K. versus U.S.A. things. It’s a vest here in the U.K. but it’s a tank-top in the U.S.A. In the U.K. tank-tops were like sleeveless sweaters, popular from like the 1940s onwards. Anyway, really loved this first episode, especially how perfectly they captured the ending.🥲👏

Love they took the shower scene in. As a comic reader, it's exactly what I was hoping for to see, but wasn't sure how they'd solve it. And I have to say they did it even better with Nick realizing that Charlie wanted to confess his love in the sea while he brought up the eating disorder. I absolutely adore the chemistry between the characters and to me, in particular Joe stepped up his acting game A LOT.

5:19 the tank top vs. vest thing confused me too but apparently in the uk it’s another way of saying tank top. Just like how in the us some people call tank tops wife beaters

Wife beaters are actually a specific type of tank top, the white ones with the thin shoulder straps and the low neckline. Not all tank tops are wife beaters
