I never really cared about adults playing teenagers but after this show I saw the importance and difference it makes for teenagers to play the role!! I absolutely loved this show, I binged watched it all in one day and it gave me ALL THE FEELS. It's such an important show in helping people understand their sexuality as well as other lessons like friendship. WE NEED SEVERAL SEASONS !

My favorite part of the whole show is how great Kit Conor (the actor that plays Nick) truly played the part perfectly. I mean down to the eye movement. The eyes going left and right when he’s panicking over the sparks is amazing acting. It’s so great and something not many people pick up on. Also Elle doesn’t like Tara but she is a bit nervous to start any new friendships.

Heartstopper is based on a webcomic by the same name. The comic is just as wholesome. I was in tears from the first 5 minutes all the way to the end of the season. I need season 2 as soon as possible. So much representation in this universe! 💜💜💜

Like, there's such an underrappresentation in media of black trans people. It's so good to see Elle there and thriving. I literally just finished the show a few minutes ago, I loved it! I loved every minute of it. The guy that plays Nick was amazing! He's an amazing actor he smashed the ish out of his role. I felt every emotion he was going through throughout the whole show, His performance was perfect 👌🏾! The guy that played Charlie was no different from Charlie in the books, They we're all so amazing. The show was exactly like the books, Netflix did their thang with this one.

Thank you for this reaction! 🙏🥰 Lots of people reacting to these early episodes will says things like "Is Nick gay or straight?" Even after Charlie makes a point of saying "Bisexual people exist." I hope one day that question will start to be asked as: "Is Nick into boys or not?" or something to that effect because it would be nice to get rid of the bierasure within the community because us Bi and Pan people (and I just learned there is Omni as well so that's cool!) deserve to feel seen too 🤷 But you did say that line about how you don't think anyone is 100% straight which is more recognition than we get from most folks 😂🥰 And ppl don't often realize there are so many separate orientation spectra either! Sexual, Romantic, Sensual, Platonic, Aesthetic, Emotional, Intellectual, sometimes they can be intertwined, yeah, but many times they are not. Like for me, I'm Panromantic, whereas I'm Bisexual. And if you wanna toss the Ace/Aro spectrum labels in there too, then I'd be Zed-Panromantic and Grey-Bisexual (meaning I have romantic attrations, frequently, to all kinds of people, but my sexual ones are more infrequent and more specific. Anyway, that was probably a really boring rant and I'm sorry if this isn't that kind of channel, lol, (I'm new here!) but yeah, I just wanted to say thanks for being reasonably openminded because it's a lot rarer than ppl think! 🙏💕

I checked the show and I'm so glad I did. I found the characters (particularly our two leads, Nick and Charlie) very engaging, seeing how vulnerable and all the emotional baggage they're carrying was very engaging. I was so engaged in the series, that I binged it in one sitting and immediately bought the books digitally because I was curious about the source material. I'm obsessed with Heartstopper, both the show and graphic novels, it's become my life now!

New subscriber here, you are SO funny and love your commentaries and reactions! I binged this show so quickly, it’s rare to get such a wholesome lgbt romance where the couples are so loving and never falter with that love. We’ve gotten so used to tragedy and the same old drama tropes, so this has been very refreshing. I believe the author of the webcomic has stated that she has a planned 10 volumes or chapters of the story and I think it’s currently on the 7th, and this season covers about up to the 4th. I pray Netflix green lights another season, I’ve fallen in love with all of these characters and the kids that played them! They all did such a great job, especially when almost all of them are making their acting debut, and next to THEE Olivia Colman!

It's not a coming of age exactly but it's about the struggle of being in your twenties in LA. A coming of age movie with a black lesbian who has a black girlfriend is Pariah, but bring tissues for that one!

I very much get what you mean with shows showing explicit stuff with characters meant to be in High School! I watched Bad Buddy (2021) recently and was SO RELIEVED when I saw that it was set in college with college-aged actors! It's not very explicit anyway, but having the characters be older left room for them to be a little sexual without it feeling like the audience was doing something wrong just by watching.
