I was shocked at how dramatic this episode was. They really did put their foot down on the accelerator with this. Great performances. I love dramas like this. Kit and Joe are just wonderful actors, who convey so much emotion.

This is the moment I really loved at 8:47 - no words, but wonderful emotion coming through. Also, just look at the change in the relationship between Nick and Tao. Season 1, sitting together they could barely speak to each other. Season 2, Tao sat down with Nick and opened up about the death of his father. Season 3, no words, Tao is simply there for Nick who needs to cry and release the built up stress he is living through. What a progression in these two lads lives.

I think Nick going with the family is huge! The Mom wasn’t his biggest fan but I would hope that they realize that Nick is the one that persuaded Charlie to ask for help. If it wasn’t for him Charlie could have spiraled even more. Also the scene with Nick crying into Tao’s arms crushes me every time! They have come so far!

I agree that this is the best episode of Heartstopper to date - and that’s in the middle of a season full of terrific episodes. Exceptional storytelling and compelling performances from pretty much everybody make it a stand-out.

This was probably the best episode of the whole series, the construction was excellent, it showed us the two perspectives, Charlie's and his journey, but at the same time it also showed us the suffering of those who stay at home. The scene of the Halloween party between Nick and Tao moved me so much, Nick has always been presented to us as a sensitive but strong boy, seeing him with that Captain America Superhero costume (which suits him very well) finally vent all his sadness in Tao's arms... a scene with an incredible symbolic meaning. However, inserting the song Black Friday, by Tom Odell, at that exact moment in the episode is a crime!!!😭

I love how Tao sits down with Nick in this. He had a habit with Charlie to steal away from parties and here he can only do so alone. It lovely Tao noticed and actually watched out for him.

oh yes! When I saw this scene I immediately remembered the scene at the party in Paris when Nick says "are we always going to run away from parties to be together?". So seeing them go out alone broke me, and seeing Tao comforting him was beautiful, especially if we remember that first scene of them together at the bowling alley, in the first season. This episode was absolutely incredible.

This is such a powerful episode: beautifully written and constructed, some great moments of character development, even for Charlie's mum (her kindness and care when she's talking to Charlie at the end about lasagne and saying its ok for him to visit Nick show that she's also on a journey) as well as some beautiful moments that genuinely make me sob. The scene of Tao comforting Nick in the hallway makes me cry every single time I watch it. But more than that, and more than the fantastic performances, script, direction and editing, I think the most important part of this episode is the way it destigmatises mental health and shows that recovery from mental illness is a process. There's no magic cure. But I genuinely think this episode, and the season as a whole - indeed, the series as a whole - will save lives because of the way it represents and destigmatises shame and demonstrates a hopeful, healing journey. Please give this episode all the awards now. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the final scene of Nick and Charlie hugging in the doorway, is the only scene where they don't say "Hi/hey" on seeing each other. Their faces, and then the deep embrace, express far more than words can say.

10:07 "there's sapphic and then there's tragic" 😂😂😂 that broke me. I may have watched it over more than once

I agree it is great that they normalise therapy, but I really hate how in reality it is so hard to find a good therapist; the real ones are never anything like the ones you see on television.

A little continuation of my story from the comment I posted on the previous episode, where I said I myself gave my teacher a letter asking for help when I was 14. After that a lot of stuff started, help wise, I was sent to a school psychologist, which honestly didn't help me cos I was too sort of sick for them to handle, so I was sent on to a psych ward where I spent 6 weeks, and actually my 15th birthday as well. I myself had a mainly very positive experience while I was there, but some of the friends I made in there didn't necessarily, and during my stay there were a couple of suicide attempts from other patients, and we were all between the ages of 13-18. I was in an open ward, and the ward next door was closed, so when someone in our ward would hurt themselves, they would be sent to the closed for more strict observation - they would also have their belts and stuff taken. Even on the open ward there were still bed checks multiple times a night. But I can definitely say that it helped me and I look back on it as an absolutely vital time of my life.

I was so happy to see this today. I am 2 days out from a catastrophic presidential election here in the states and am flailing about trying to find things that are beautiful and bring me happiness and this certainly hit the spot. Thank you so much from Nashville, Tennessee. PS. Glad to see Alex got his gold chain back 😊❤

Guys please tell me you are reacting to Agatha All Along 😭 Edit: 15:51 I think it also reduces shame, because what if someone had a bad experience and then watched a show where everything worked out? They would think “oh it’s my fault that it didn’t work out”… so it’s good to put it out there that not all places are good, and that there are good places. So try again! Same with therapists… it’s not guaranteed that you will fit with anyone, but that doesn’t mean that therapy is not for you… you could try with another therapist and see actual results

I love how they changed the narrative style for this episode. Its so amazing. And your reaction to time rewinding and going through it again is so relatable lol. But its so well done. Sensitive but still not shy to talk about the important things, even the not so good ones.
