You also realize he has been probably for as long as he can remember and you never knew. You'd have to think back and wonder if you'd ever unintentionally hurt him emotionally, if you'd ever made him feel unwelcome. And you'd have to feel bad that it took him so long to tell you, it would make any loving parent wonder if maybe they did something wrong and if they'd been better parents would he have come out sooner.
