Glad you are safe. Hopefully you avoided any damage from the storm. Enjoyed the video.

As an end-user, I’d be extra-happy for not just a new motor, but a whole blower assembly! Fresh and clean blower wheel and shroud! Nice!

I have kin in Ashville. Roads and bridges are toast. Luckily they didn't flood. They have a small generator and gas for now. Don't know if they have water yet. Hope you fared well. You should have 500k subs.

I recently got a job in the fire alarm field. I’ve been trying to record fire alarm service calls to show the experience of working in that field.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think the green wire on top is not a ground. It is connected to a speed tap for when the system calls for fan only (I guess it is green to match the thermostat green fan wire). The white is for setting the fan speed in heat mode and the pink for cool mode.

Sell them an inline surged suppressor that connects to the module/motor. They are cheap protection for an overly expensive module.

Easy fix. I was at the supply house the other day and saw they have surge protectors for those ECM motors. Does anyone use those, are they worth using, do they work?
@Garth2011Ай бұрын
The "Thermistor" on the ECM failed as usual. They are too sensitive and burn up. Happens often especially on a Genteq. When the power went out from the weather, it likely wasn't a smooth disconnection so that thermistor failed. Just a guess.

Interesting.......... are those CTM motors particularly sensitive to power outages/surges?

ECM motors, nothing but quality. =)

Hi Ted,hope you and your family are doing well. And I can't believe that this type is just junk.

Maybe they ought to have delayed or soft starters on A/C plants in areas prone to blackouts/brownouts.

To the novice, the new fan sounded a little crunchy / grindy upon startup. Maybe that's how the 'new' one sound.
