It’s so clear that chelsea are getting better even from the two games played at the start of the season, saying they’ve been unimpressive just because they didn’t win is stupid. The game against Luton is even more sign of that. Chelsea were infinitely more impressive than Man Utd in the first two games despite getting less points. It's one of those surface level arguments "They've spent 1b"...yes but they haven't spent 1b on a day 1 first 11 squad that can compete with City, they've spent 1b on a under 23 squad that won't be expected to come good for another 2-3 years, that's when you judge whether 1b was a good investment or not.

@@bobf1267 It's something nobody knows ultimately, the only certainty is that they've overpaid for numerous players, but it could be in 2 years they start dominating the league with a stable team and win 3 titles on the bounce and another European cup where you say fair enough money well spent. Could be they end up being lack lustre sitting in 8th needing to reset half the players and you call it stupidity 🤷‍♂ Ultimately if I had to guess the reason they've done what they're doing is because they're building the stadium in the near future too, so reset the squad, build the stadium, refresh the squad works financially well off, which again if you come out of that situation in regular contention and top 4 you'd say it's good money that didn't need extra investment while the stadium was being built, but again who knows. It's all potential now but trying to put some level of judgement on the outcome that won't be seen for 5 odd years is stupidity in itself too.

@@CB-lw7ty but some things they have done don’t make sense. Why buy Lavia, Lesley, Caicedo AND the guy on loan to forest. Only one of those should play since they have Enzo already. Why sell Mount when he slots alongside Enzo and one of them. Why buy Badiashile when Colwill is right there. Cucurella was obviously a mistake but why let go of Hall on the cheap. Sanchez for 25mil makes no sense either. You’re essentially letting whatever happens dictate how you view their choices but that’s not how choices work. They could win the league and it’s still fair to say they made bad choices. (They could also finish 10th and it wouldn’t mean the players they bought are bad, shit happens)

Although last season was embarrassing, I think we have improved a bit, but the squad still needs time, especially with Nkunku being out so early on, too. And Reece James... again.

What I thought was most impressive was that last game when Walker made a mistake and they conceded a goal they were able to switch gears instantly and like a minute later had a chance with Alvarez which he missed. And then they kept going and 3 minutes later they rectified the situation. Then they immediately slowed back down again. It seems like they are conserving they’re energy because they don’t want to be as deep as they were last year going for everything. Much different from Arsenal last game

the thing is they do look a good team they just dont have experience together as a squad. for example with man city, we've always had the quality and capabilities to win the UCL, we've had it the last couple of years, but it takes time and experience in those competitions (and a little luck) to pull it off. The more this chelsea XI play together, the better they'll be. They dont even have a designated pen taker yet lol thats how new their squad is.
