The famine started when a cyclone hit Bengal and Orissa destroying the rice harvest and Churchill in the house of commons said that food difficulties in the area be dealt with immediately, Churchill did the very best he could in the middle of a world war to try and get grain ships from Australia to Bengal India, also under British rule the population of India boomed and the British also stopped the barbaric act of "Suttee"were they would throw the widow of the deceased husband on the bonfire with him..... Britain has been a gift to the world, you're welcome 👍🇬🇧

@@user__100 To be fair the British empire was probably the most benign and humane of all the empires, and in the 12 month period from June 1940 when France fell to June 1941 when Germany invaded Russia, in that 12 month period it was only the British empire that offered any sort of military resistance against the thugs in Berlin..... you're welcome 👍🇬🇧
