I can’t comment about the Hotwired gear, but I do have some 23* experience with W & S gear! After wearing Gerbing for several winters I gave W&S a go and was instantly sold on their liners. Less bulk with more heat. Great stuff. You wont be disappointed.

A little bulk will help when you get off your bike. I preferred my TourMaster for this over my WarmnSafe. WarmnSafe is more like a wind breaker.

​@@ratbrain7743 an extra few layers of polyester won't do diddly to protect you in a crash. Let the heated jacket heat you and the armored top layer jacket protect you

Wife and I use the First Gear by Warm & Safe, and like it. Instead of the full gloves, we have the heated glove liners, so can use them inside whichever motorcycling gloves we can fit them in. They add a small bit of bulk, so would be a tight fit in snug gloves. The Bluetooth controller is the bomb. Mine is the single channel, but it’s worked fine, so far. Generally, if my fingertips are okay, the rest of me is comfy. I Velcro mine on top of the brake master cylinder for easy adjustment. Wife has the wired controller, which works better for her on the back seat.

I’ve not tried the heated gear yet but one thing I noticed in your video is you’re riding a bike with no hand shielding from the wind. Keeping even some of the cold wind off your hands helps immensely. I ride with full gauntlet gloves on my winter bike that has some wind protection on the hands and it helps a lot. If they’re still cold, I turn on the heated grips. 😉

Don’t know how old your hotwired gear is but the current versions can be operated via Bluetooth through an app on your phone. And through the app, you have fine tuning of the temp vs just 3 settings via the buttons.

I just bought a hot wired jacket liner for my daughter based on my own experience. FYI the latest models now have a Bluetooth app with 10 levels of heat. That being said, my daughter just uses the 3 levels that come hardwired. I see what you’re saying about the gloves, med + heated grips 👍 Boy am i getting soft in my old age….

Great review .I agree with you. I started with tourmaster. I killed that gear rolling them up tight instead of foldin them. They were were very good and had some kind of insulation in them that would double as a decent jacket when off the bike. Mine are old. I don't know if they are still the same. My WNS is like a thin windbreaker. when I bought warm n safe a couple of years ago. Once you feel electric riding gear there ain't no going back. Kinda like cruise. However, I have my heated gear fail a couple of times in remote places and almost thought I was gonna perish. I carry some layers for backup now when it is really cold. I also use Hippo Hands. Get u some. If you dont like them. Send them back. You won't. Mine are Tusk cheap and work. I can wear thinner glove with touchscreen compatibility with the Wind guards.. I tried insoles. 1 star for the ones I have. My warmnsafe socks will fry my toes turned up.Kinda shitty but still pretty good The wns I have has many hot spots in the pants that I can't run it on high very long. The still turn a cold ride into a good one.

I just bought a jacket liner and gloves liner. It's what there was, and the ability to wear it as a mid layer under anything, is really what I was going for. I can pick any glove and jacket.

I wear the gloves and heated jacket liner. I have on my channel a video of the gear i had on when i hit a deer at 70mph. I had zero road rash on my hands. I put hand guards on current bike to help with my finger tips.

I can't afford heated gear so I use cheap $10.00 - $20.00 ebay handlebar mitts and have no complaints.... toasty warm with light mechanic type gloves. ATV or Bike

If you add heated grips inside those muffs you will be amazed. I bought some cheap muffs then added $30 lace on heaters. I'm good for an all day ride in rain and snow.

Great video. Love your users view of the gear. I have looked at heated gear but didn't know what to get and prices are high. Finally bought heated grip covers. Cheap lace on jeated covers with on/off switch. Have used them for an all day ride in rain and snow. Hands were fine. I also use handlebar muffs that help keep the heat in and keeps my gloves dry. Today I don't want to go outside. It is 33C (91F) already.

Great video! And more helpful than you know as you have those super fat Harley grips making the gloves not nearly as pressed against your knuckles and the tops of your hands. I ride a bmw k16 with standard size grips making a tighter fist, and therefore a tighter fitment around those overheating areas. I have the glove liners but don’t like them much. I’ll be trying your suggested brand next! Thanks :)

Had gerbing, powerlet but now sold On warm n safe using base layer so much less bulk and the trouser lining kept me going in -4 c (& less with wind )

Nice video. I own the Hot Wired vest and I love it. Mine always stays on high . Like you , I hate being cold . I often wear it without turning it on. I will look into Warm and Safe for their gloves.

A logistics question. Looking at heated gear. Jacket liner and gloves. Thinking about how do you get heated gloves with a gauntlet on and connected? If put outer jacket on before gloves, have to try to pull up sleeve to get to plug, put on glove, and try to plug in with 1 hand. Then get end of sleeve down and inside gauntlet. Could put liner on then gloves. But then hard to put outer jacket on over the gloves and then get gauntlet over end on sleeve.all Seems very cumbersome.

Here's how I do it. 1 - heated jacket liner on first. 2 - holding the glove connections in between my fingers, put my outer jacket on. holding the glove connection wires in my fingers keeps them out past my sleeves. 3 - plug the glove in first before putting it on. 4 - put the glove on and stretch the gauntlet over the jacket sleave. My wires end up on the top of my wrists this way. hope this helps

Pull the wires into your hand before putting on outer jacket then wire is ready to plug in to the glove before you put the gloves on!

I traded in Gerbing gloves and a liner for Warm and Safe gloves and liner. They gave me a good discount to trade in the Gerbing. The Warm and Safe Gloves and liner are also waterproof and heat better than the Gerbing. The Gerbing gloves were very uncomfortable. I realy like the wireless controller. Even though the Wam and Safe liner is less bulky and more comfortable than the Gerbing it heated better with more warmth, and the warm was more even. I suggesst buying Warm and Safe gear directly from them rather than the Warming Store. Warm and Safe will provide superior service.

Never have tried plugged into bike gear and for ME I would have to have a LOT of cable slop for the many times I have to stand on the pegs ro stretch on a long ride

This was a good review and comparison of the two different gloves. Does the Warm and Safe jacket liner add much bulk while wearing it under a protective outer layer riding jacket? Also, is the material inside the Warm and Safe jacket liner nylon-like allowing your arms to slide easily through the sleeves or is it more of a fleece type of materail which tends to catch and hold your shirt sleeves.

It’s like a very light wind breaker. No fleece or any insulation of its own. It’s designed to fit snug and be worn directly over lightweight clothing for maximum heat transfer. Slips on and off easily.

I would think klim would make good heated gear . I have a gerbing jacket and gloves . They are both very good . Has a dual controller . I think mine must be 5-6 yrs old now

It's possible the problem your having with the Hotwired gloves providing more heat in one area could be broken wires, the heating wire itself is hair thin and while riding the bike with constant bending of the fingers those hair thin wires eventually break, resulting in more power going to the remaining areas of the gloves.

Battery's won't live long enough for a day long ride. 30 day camping vacation won't work at all. Hard wired gear is the only way to ride. Can you imagine your battery dying 2 hours from home.

Heated gear is one of those items that a lot of bikers just blow off due to costs or style of riding or any of a dozen other reasons. Don’t fall into that mindset. If you ride a lot and not just locally, the first time you need and USE that gear you’ll wonder why you didn’t get it years ago. With at least 7 bikes behind me with 100,000 miles on each one, it is amazing just how comfortable you can be on the interstate with the temps below freezing. If you can borrow a friend’s jacket liner some cool evening, give it a try. You will be ordering something the next day.

I have a heated gillet with 3 settings but I don't really like it because it gives me a kind of strange headache and I can tell my body don't like it. Would it be the magnetic energy of all the wires and the USB power pack causing this or is it just me.!

Having great heated grips I just wish I could buy heated gloves that only heats back of fingers....batteries could last SOO long too powering much less element! Maybe they could put connectors in the gloves you could disable sections you dont need! Grip heaters fail to keep back of hand warm IMHO

I’m pretty sure both of the gloves in this video do not have heating elements in the palm and front of fingers, but they are not battery powered.

Sort of off topic slightly but deals with hand temperature comfort so.....I have two motorcycles one has hand guards the other does not....It is amazing how just simple plastic wind blocking handguards SO cuts down the wind chill! ...I have to assume people worry much more about appearance than practicality or else I dont see why all bikes would not have hand guards....its just plastic I seriously doubt money is an issue ....for that matter loads of people give up all kinds of comfort and practicality for their idea of what seems "cool" looking ....not me man! PERFORMANCE (includes weight and handling braing etc) Convienience Comfort Safety Reliability and bang for buck overall! You can keep anything that puts looks and/or coolness ahead of these! In fact somehow machines that satisfy all the important factors other than looks? They just cant help but being BEAUTIFUL IMHO I need to put handguards on my naked 1kcc bike
