I bought the 60 dollar option from O'Reilly's and it allows for a easy splice into the old QC on my '05 silverrobbo , those older version Quick Connect aren't the easy quick disconnect like in this video, they were a time saver on the GM assembly line, but to remove them is another story, the passenger side one can be hell to remove since there's barely enough room to get the removal tool in place and then getting my fingers to do what is supposed to be done is damn near impossible, the updated QC's are better for removal.

FYI, There's a really cool tool to remove those particular clamps. Don't ask me the name bc I can't remember. The hobby shop on base had them. I used them and afterwards I went to Sears and bought it. It really helps to clamp down and it locks in place.

Thanks for your video, was the best I found to follow on my 2005 Tahoe. Took me a little over an hour to complete. Looking at your video again, I see that the hose to my fluid tank is not pushed on as far as yours, so I better redo that part (it's really hard to push that one on for some reason). Everything else went smooth, and my truck is no longer leaking fluid.

Hi, thanks. Hope you are doing better than great! I want to say it fits based off of what I can find, but please confirm. This is the application guide from Dormans website. Scroll down and see page 2. www.dormanproducts.com/p-91571-626-553.aspx?year=2008&make=GMC&origin=keyword Here is a link to get it for about $36 from Amazon as a Prime item as well, half the cost of my local automotive store.... @@MaldonadosGarage just ordered it! I’m nervous about the top connection. 2 years ago I had the replace the top heater core connector that is the to the left. The part that said it fit didn’t include the right style connector to connect the hose. It did have a barb end so I wound up removing the inner hose piece to just slide onto the new barb and hose clamp it.

I replaced the other hose , Month or so later replaced the water pump, & thermostat Now it’s 4am a few weeks later and now I have to replace this hose( leaking at the y) Knew I should’ve replaced at least both hoses at the same time New I should’ve replaced this hose when I replaced the water pump 2014 esv

@aldopaints670
@aldopaints670 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, ‘cause you would be losing coolant through the cracks. It’s mostly the y connector that’s the problem. It is made out of plastic, so it cracks really easily.

mine has failed exactly at the Y fitting ( small pin hole leak - took me few months to find out as it only leaks at full pressure) , i couldn't find the Y or T connector and found through this video that it only come in one big assembly. the new part from Doorman has the Y piece made out of aluminum compare to OEM which was plastic.
