You never disappoint Heath! It’s nice to see yours and Malcolm’s seasonings at my local sporting good store. If I get low on something I didn’t pay attention to its right down the road!

Always first class presentation! I do have a question though....why didn't you place any wood over the center over the vortex for more smoke flavor?

I been working on getting my wings dialed in. Think I am about on the mark. Use that Garlic Jalapeño for the start and then put the Honey Chipotle on. That's been a good combo even on the ribs.

Looks awesome Heath and definitely going to try them with your Garlic Jalapeño rub next time! Been using my Vortex / Weber combo for a few years now (thanks to Malcom as well) and absolutely the best way to do wings. Loved them so much I added a 26" Weber Kettle to my line up just so I could fit more wings on the grill...lol. One of my favorite "tricks" when doing these is to throw a chunk of hickory, cherry or mesquite directly over the Vortex during the cook. Adds and awesome smokiness to the wings. Thanks for all the great videos and inspiration and have a great day!

I own every one of your rubs but must ask what the competition rub taste like ? Lol. Or should I just combine a few of yours already to make it your competition rub ? Cheers and happy cooking Mr Riles
@HeathRilesBBQ Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the question! I would say the Competition blend is savory. It's becoming one of our best sellers, for sure. It's the blend I used to win 1st place ribs at Memphis in May. It can be a stand alone rub on pork, chicken, etc. but I like to use a base layer of Garlic Jalapeño with it as well.

Oh lord did he really just need a thermometer to grill wings. LMAO 😂. IM DYING
@HeathRilesBBQ29 күн бұрын
It's a BBQ tool. If I'm showcasing how to cook something, I want to show everyone watching what I'm talking about and show correct temps. People watching this video may not know and want to learn. I've cooked long enough to go off feels, looks, and times. However, it also doesn't hurt to have it around and double check sometimes.
@williamseale29 күн бұрын
@@HeathRilesBBQ gotcha my bad. Man you took me out when you broke out a thermometer for wings 🤣
@HeathRilesBBQ28 күн бұрын
@@williamseale No worries. Just explaining why. I've had a few comments about why I use a thermometer. A great tool and teaching moment.
@rgeorge92603 ай бұрын
This may be a silly question, but... I was surprised that you grill your wings until they hit 195 - 200 degrees. I've always done chicken to 160 - 165 degrees. I thought your wings would dry out, cooking them to that high a temperature! I've never gone higher than 170 with chicken, no matter what! Does cooking the to such a high temp make them more tender? I assume they stay juicy too... Thx
@HeathRilesBBQ3 ай бұрын
I cook it that high for a crispier skin. Pulling them at 160-165º will have a rubbery skin. I always want a little crispy with a good char.

@@HeathRilesBBQ Thanks for the quick response! That makes sense! Thx so much! Love all you products, BTW. You website is awesome! You prices there are so much better than your products on Amazon!
